  1. I mean, that would be the best thing for the students, right? Winning trophies, from what I've heard, trumps everything else. Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe a tax issue? Building another high school isn't cheap.
  2. Give me an example. You lost me.
  3. You call it like you see it, I'll give you that. No bias toward any particular area and probably the least biased person on the forum. Maybe a little hard on the referees, but I enjoy that content too :).
  4. I see DC as a total non-factor in the tournament. I tried telling everyone in the pre-season, but few listened. Welcome to 6A football, it's just a different brand.
  5. And Indiana stunk to high heaven before Cignetti took over. Coaching is 50% of it, resources are the other 50%. I'm starting to think that you think Ben Davis, Warren Central, and Carmel have 33 state titles between them simply because they are better programs than everyone else. Enrollment must not be a factor at all. I think transitive property is a good measuring stick, but certainly not the be all end all. You're right, sometimes transitive property is just a circle with no end.
  6. Love this forum and the entertainment it provides. Touting your team or region while bantering with others from different parts of the state is all in good fun. But let's not forget that we're cheering for a bunch of kids that can push over their opponent, make a great noise popping tackle, or tuck a ball under their arms and run down the field and run real fast. These kids get one or two years of gratification and recognition, then go on experience knee and back issues 20 years down the road. Just one time, I'd love to see a packed stadium of 80,000 fans stand up and roar for that guy who works hard, been married for twenty years, goes to church, and has raised four great kids. Maybe even reward him with a million dollar salary as he gets recognized by the fans who paid to witness this man's achievements. It's the end, it's just a game with not a whole lot of real world value. Keep having fun, but remember, football isn't the be all end all. So a massive shout out to all the guys on this forum doing bigger things with their lives outside of being a football coach or fan.
  7. Fair. All we have to go on for Crown Point is their win over Merrillville. It's a "wait and see." However, based on everything we've seen so far, all we know is that everyone in the northern bracket is probably playing for second place behind Carmel.
  8. Crickets suddenly? Or coincidence? Pre-season of 2022, you said "I'm waiting." Since that quote: 2023: Snider 42, Warren Central 20 Carroll 18, Warren Central 14 Snider 33, Decatur Central 6 Crown Point 38, Westfield 31 2022: Carroll 20, Hamilton Southeastern 15 Five impressive wins from the North over by three different teams against Indy powers. What's the problem? You asked, they delivered. There's some good big boy football being played up here @temptation.
  9. Okay, so it's fair to bring up Snider's dominance over DC and WC in 2023? Not really sure how it relates to 2025.
  10. Not sure to be honest. But again, I have them as Westfield's equal at the moment. So maybe. They're playing good right now. Not scoring a touchdown against Dwenger was a bit disturbing, but the Saints probably rank somewhere in the Top 3 statewide defensively. And as you said, that game may have been an anomaly.
  11. I think we're only talking 2025. If not, could I bring up 33-6 and 42-20 in 2023? I'm trying to be fair.
  12. Talk to me about "mud swamped," in 2025. Remember, we're only discussing CP and Carroll since those are the only 6A Northern teams I've touted as Top 10 programs. Please don't bring up Homestead's 35-0 loss to Westfield. Carroll did that to them by halftime and I've never mentioned Homestead as one of the better northern teams. Now, back to "mud swamped." I'll wait a few minutes, then I have to go.
  13. Common 1: Carroll had Homestead down 35-0 at halftime, whereas it took Westfield the entire game to achieve 35-0. Edge Carroll. Common 1: Carroll loses to HSE by one touchdown without their best offensive weapon. Even @temptation would call touting Westfield's loss to Brownsburg 14-0 a moral victory. Wait, moral victories are only for teams up north. My take Westfield's loss to Brownsburg: Shows that they are a pretty darn team. The drubbing they took from Carmel wasn't a good look, but hell, the Greyhounds might do that to everyone this year. We'll find out at semi-state. Hard to compete with good coaching and 5000 students.
  14. What I call "being competitive" and giving another team "all they can handle", you call "moral victory." You use it like it's a bad term.
  15. Are any of those programs much different now than they were then?
  16. That just validates my opinion of the ratings. It's a fun poll and I respect Sagarin for putting it together. But there are way too many intangibles that Sagarin can't take into account. Having DC ranked #4 grossly exposes Sagarin's flaws. Don't get upset, I never said Crown Point would beat Brownsburg or Carmel.
  17. What's confusing is that Harding resides just outside of Fort Wayne City limits, rural SE Fort Wayne if you will. Yet 90% of their student body could have walked to South Side.
  18. That was a good game, for sure. But their body of work over the course of the season doesn't convince me that they beat Jeff. It's not possible to look at Jeff schedule and draw any conclusion other than them being ranked somewhere between 8-12.
  19. No thanks. Jeff took Chatard to the wire. Chatard wasted Roncalli and almost beat Cathedral. Jeff wasted every other opponent they played including Harrison by a higher margin than Chatard did. I've got Jeff over HSE by 7, and Jeff over Avon by 14.
  20. East Noble and Decatur Central are a coin toss.
  21. So what do we draw from this? That the difference between 3A and 4A is right where it's supposed to be relative to enrollments?
  22. I'll never understand why the Harding kids were spread out between New Haven, Heritage, and Woodlan. Makes no sense geographically. Those kids could have went to schools like North Side and Snider, both with declining enrollments. Or Wayne, that would make the most sense.
  23. Carroll 38, Northrop 21 Homestead 24, North Side 13 Dwenger 24, Snider 6 South Side 33, Concordia 14 Luers 42, Wayne 0
