Ok…..so this is my only dive down this rabbit hole. Exactly how would it be determined that the vaccine or even covid was a factor in what happened? What tests exist to make that determination? Don’t misinterpret my post though. I am NOT dismissing anything. The fact is people from every angle have very strong opinions. This topic has given a glimpse of what has happened to every other topic where the vaccine or the virus are mentioned. Want to start a topic exploring the impact of covid and/or the vaccine on athletes? No problem with that. My concern is that either of the two became the focal point of so many topics since it started. And as I said, it was getting uglier with each post. I am just not a fan of seeing it happen here.

I guess it was inevitable that the conversation would go down this path. The fact is there will be no way to tell if being vaccinated (if he was) had any impact on his current condition. What we do know is he was hit in the chest and within seconds, his heart stopped. Anything beyond that point is pure conjecture. My issue is this, regardless of what angle you take with vaccine conversations, they spiral out of control quickly and turn ugly. And once that conversation turns ugly, it seems others do as well, and people start making more and more ugly comments about each other. That is what got the original OOB shut down. My request is we stay focused on the fact that a young man is clinging to life and that alone in this topic. I REALLY hope this does not continue down that path. Those conversations occur in far too many other places in life as it is. As far as Damar goes, a standard protocol for cardiac arrest patients is to put them on oxygen/breathing tubes. He had been at 100% oxygen intake, and the family reports he is down the 50%. Hoping and praying that trend continues.

LA is a city not known for really supporting their teams. People show up late and leave early. I know traffic is a factor. There are also a LOT of people that live there that are not from there. As far as the Rose Bowl stadium, it seats 90,000, and being a bowl, can look empty and still have 50,000-60,000 people there.

The Vikings just took a good ole fashioned butt whoopin today. All the things that had to happen from just a month ago for the Packers to make the playoffs.....it is incredible they actually control their own destiny. A key point in the video states that use of the crown of the helmet is targeting, no matter where the contact occurs.

hmmmmmm.......in my mind he was defenseless. If the hit came from in front of him, I would agree with you. But with the way the back of his head was exposed and in the position it was in, it sure seems like he was defenseless.

Like the announcers said, the ball bounced off him initially, but as he gained control/caught the pass, the ball was over the line. Another critical call, on the 4th down play at the end, the potential of targeting being called allows Michigan to keep possession and still have a chance to win. In my mind, there is no question the defender used the crown of his helmet. I also thought first contact was made with the back of the helmet. My guess was it was not called because the defender also used his forearm to make contact.

Not at all what I expected from either game. With no real dog in either game, they were fun to watch as a fan. Being a defensive guy though, sheesh. While I will stick with Georgia winning it all, TCU will give them all they can handle.

I am watching ESPNNews. They have a drone camera behind the offense. What is impressive is that TCU is moving the ball at will. This view shows just how out of place Michigan is so often; a number of times, there are only 1 or 2 guys who have a chance to make a play, and they are missing tackles too often.

Maybe he is the last of the old guard to lead the church. I disagreed with a lot of things he did (and did not do) and said, but he deserved a LOT of credit for being humble enought to retire; the first in 600 years to have done so. Georgia and Michigan win easily today. I just think Georgia is that much better than any other team this season. TCU got beat up in the conference title game. This late in the year, players do not really fully recover. I love the competitiveness in Duggan, but Michigan is a team like none they have seen this year. Georgia beats Michigan in the title game, by two scores. I think the Michigan o line will keep them in the game.

It was a HORRIBLE read by Buchner. he looked at the receiver the entire time....had time to scan the field, and see that safety. he would have also seen the receiver to his right that had a big size advantage on the CB.
