This alone should end the use of zoom or any live streaming of classes....done, end of story, period. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-53758746#:~:text=The%20mother%20of%20a%20Florida,with%20her%20class%2C%20police%20say.&text=Maribel%20Rosado%20Morales%2C%2032%2C%20was,the%20Martin%20County%20Sheriff's%20Office.

Nebraska is doing the same thing. Options are quickly running out. My guess is the SEC would let OSU in. Nebraska back in the Big 12 for a year?

New Donald Trump thread
Irishman replied to Muda69's topic in Gridiron Out of Bounds's Out of Bound Forum
Trump calling someone a RINO is absolutely hilarious. -
Funny that the article just brushes aside that he said there are problems from liberal parents as well. The bigger issue is how can live streaming even be legal? There are a number of privacy issues that come up. If a kid has an IEP, and asks a teacher if he or she can go to the resource room for help, instead of a one on one conversation, the potential for kids and parents at home to hear that is a risk. If there is a discipline issue in the classroom, that is an issue as well. Iknow a teacher in an elementary school who heard a parent yell and cuss at her kid and she is certain she heard a slap. With so many on screen at once, there was no way to determine who it was. Then you have a who.e new set of discipline issues. Fishers high school had someone showing their male privates on camera, and another student in the same class yelling the n word. There is simply no way to control those types of things. Another teacher I know had parents calling during class with questions. It is too much for any teacher to take on. There are several classes that are able to have one teacher at a grade level work with virtual students, but even that has its own set of issues. Not all buildings can afford to dedicate a teacher to just that group. As far as what this teacher is talking about, there is something to be said for a kid being in a class and feeling comfortable enough to share something personal that he or she may not be so willing too if the class is being broadcast.

Suspended or cancelled season
Irishman replied to Football Guru 25's topic in Gridiron Out of Bounds's Out of Bound Forum
It is my belief the IHSAA has passed the call on to each school district. If we were in the playoffs at this point, like we were with basketball in March, then it is their call. But at this point they are what poker players call......pot committed. -
And like chicken pox, it stays in you for your lifetime. Who knows when or if it will act up again. There is no flu virus that does that.

Angola at New Haven at 2 pm Saturday Anyone know who Garrett scrimmages? Their school calendar only says team meeting Saturday morning.

I was thinking officials would just yell “STOP!!!”

Suspended or cancelled season

I agree completely here......every team will try to get as far into the season as they can, and see what happens. -

Oh trust me; both sides of the discussion have been "neutered" at various points...... Love that word :) -
Suspended or cancelled season

I merged topics here. We would like to keep all updates under this topic so the page is not cluttered with each school that either suspends or cancels the season. Thanks folks. Also, sorry, I suck at merging, so I may not have gotten the original topic heading right. For the record, we did not ban anyone; said person asked to have his account deleted. -

I think the rule of thumb for some time was "can I raise my draft stock?" If not, you go; if so, you stay.

Can a NCAA college student athlete become an official?
Irishman replied to Tommy's question in Officiating Forum
I was way back when. IUPUI actually had a class in it; I got licensed in football, softball, baseball, and swimming. -
IHSAA FANS GUIDELINES
Irishman replied to Indian72's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
That is EXACTLY what they did. The actual decisions are being made by the local schools/districts. -
Stopping this post now. There is no new info. This is NOT a platform to simply spout political views. It started halfway down the worm hole the other locked posts ended up in. And NOTHING has been added to raise it. Plenty has been done to drive it urther down that wormhole; with the usual cast of characters taking the usual stances. BE BETTER

I agree 100%. I pray we do not shut down. My confidence level is not as high as some here, but I hope we pull it off. -

In a perfect world, sure. But, if an offer has been made and the kid accepts(signs LOI), now the school has an investment; whether they redshirt or not. They have one less scholarship available for the year. In my 28 years now of coaching, I have no doubt many of those kids will be told to not play. Even if it is 1%, there is still an impact on the game or the team directly involved. In this area, St. Francis, NAIA is playing in the Spring, so that may take more kids out of the picture. Obviously, nothing is certain. I do believe the IHSAA is now all in on the season being this Fall, no matter what happens. We will not see an entire system shut down like we did in March with ALL schools statewide. Now, things could get bad enough to warrant that, but I cringe at the thought of how bad that would be. -

I disagree. The season would start after signing day. Any D1 kid would likely be told to skip the season, or work to get those kids on campus early. I am sure a few of those kids were actually planning to be on campus for the 2nd semester. There may even be FCS schools, and D2 schools doing the same; especially with many of them moving their seasons to the Spring already. -

I believe a couple people said they viewed a zoom meeting with Robert Faulkens, and he said that the minimum game standard has been waived.
