  1. I can appreciate what RGIII is saying here. BUUUUUUUUUUTTTTTTT.....this was from last season Throw in the F*** Texas, Utah, Notre Dame on his finger nails..... Something is off.
  2. Huge letdown after playing so well in previous games. The defense could not tackle or cover receivers, the o line could not run block or pass protect well at all. Hartman had guys open but looked like he was throwing too high all game. Even special teams mistakes hurt them.
  3. I have to edit. McGinnis was set to play for Knight when Knight took over. But George's sophomore season was the season before that. Knight encouraged him to go pro because of family financial issues.
  4. Tough call between May and Benson......I went with May because if he stays healthy during his career, the undefeated thing reaches a far more epic level.
  5. While it is mostly for this season, with the passing of Coach Knight, I did not want to include the year in the title as I am sure there will be a lot to post in the coming days and weeks. So let's start with this Saw another post and thought ok, who would it be without looking at the article. From the entire Knight era; name the all time starting 5. In no certain order: Isiah Thomas George McGinnis Calbert Cheaney Steve Alford Scott May
  6. I was doing it from my ipad or laptop. I did find that the app on my firestick gives me a much better and clearer picture. I was getting a lot of pixelating trying to use the cast feature last week.
  7. Sad day for Hoosiers fans. RIP Coach https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/38796141/legendary-basketball-coach-bob-knight-dies-83
  8. I think IU could beat them 🙂 I am more than certain they did not in the 2nd half, but I don't recall Pitt crossing the 50 today.
  9. If you are a fan of the game, the book “When Pride Still Mattered” is an excellent book by Dave Maraniss. All kinds of cool connections in the game that I never imagined, like the ones I mentioned here. Also, when Lombardi was still teaching high school chemistry, he and his wife had a favorite spot to go to in New Jersey. They met another young couple there. The man had just started singing on weekends in the club, and the two couples remained friends throughout their lives…..the singer…..Old Blue Eyes himself, Frank Sinatra.
  10. Michael was an attorney in Indianapolis. He was in his 90’s when I first met him.
  11. While I still lived in Indy, of the guys I would usher with at church was Michael Layden, brother of Elmer. Michael played at ND when Elmer was the coach. I had a family at one the schools I taught at in the Broad Ripple area. The kids mom was a Stuhldreher. Other more interesting connections….Jim Crowley was the head coach at Fordham when the 7 Blocks of Granite came up one game shy of going to the Rose Bowl. That O Line was coached by Frank Leahy. One of those 7 blocks of granite was Vincent Thomas Lombardi.
  12. Everything changes after this season. While some change has occurred with NIL and the transfer portal, the game changes completely with the expanded playoff and expanded conferences for next season. Competitive programs will have to find ways to pay players. Schools have to be willing to commit to that. Even now, I don’t believe admins in Bloomington have shown a willingness to do so. I agree that Hartline is a guy to consider, but I am certain he goes to any school and starts out by saying, here is what we do in Columbus to have a top tier program; if you are not willing to commit to that, I am not your guy. I would even say the same for a guy like Mike Hart, who would also be a solid prospect. Joel Klatt said it best during the game Saturday; teams in a position where IU is are basically a farm team. Kids that are not highly recruited will go there, play one season and look for opportunities elsewhere. Guys at IU not getting playing time will likely go to a non power 5 conference to get playing time. Unless IU makes a huge push to pay some solid talent, they will be stuck where they are regardless of who the head coach is.
  13. I finally got to attend my first Notre Dame USC game a few years ago. While I love going to games at ND, this one was a different level…and awesome. One of the cool parts was Mike Collins reading the weather forecast for the game. It was rainy and cold then too, and he finishes with, “Trojan fans you are NOT in Southern California now”. Crowd went nuts.
  14. Great work @Frozen Tundra Love seeing posters dig into things like this here. This was actually a plan under consideration when we expanded to 6 classes. While the raw numbers look significant in what was 5A at the time, the math showed the greatest disparity in enrollment numbers was actually in 1A. I don’t know of an answer as to why it did not happen though.
  15. Will your Bears still pick him? 🤞🙏🤞🙏🤞🙏😁😎
  16. Well, if you are going to fall, make sure it is a complete shit show. One player played well……the FG kicker. Outplayed and outcoached in every phase of the game Other thoughts Joe Alt’s stock dropped big time. The way he got pushed and tossed around is exactly what NFL DE’s will do. Number 8 Marist Liufau really stands out….and for all the wrong reasons. For 3 weeks I have seen him run into an o line when he blitzes, miss a LOT of tackles, and just does not read well. Several big runs tonight get beyond the 2nd level because he is out of position. The last TD run was a prime example….just ran into the pile and the RB ran right by where he had been. The 15 yard penalty on him was a killer penalty. No adjustments to routes run with the constant pressure L’Ville brought all night. Run the f’ing ball…and downhill. Why they abandoned the run so early is frustrating. 4th and 11 on your own 35? Are you kidding? Finally, the first interception of the game was a clear push off by the DB. You could clearly see Flores’ upper body move back with the push off. If that is called, it does not make a difference in this one Congrats to Coach Brohm and his whole staff. Fantastic game plan and execution.
  17. Saw this on my timeline. Such an iconic image.
  18. Another legend passes. I know this will hit hard for the Bears fans here, especially those old enough to have enjoyed watching him play. Thank God for the genius of Steve Sabol and NFL Films for allowing us to see so much of his and other legends’ careers in such detail. RIP Dick https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/38577860/dick-butkus-hall-fame-linebacker-chicago-bears-dies
  19. and not just a Big Ten Regular Season Champion Banner either.
  20. Props to the folks at Disney. This is pretty good https://x.com/espn/status/1708490415505039407?s=20
  21. And if you come back, you'll be pushin up daisies.
