  1. It was nice to hear him speak directly to the matter. He did not hold back or mince his words. He makes some valid points. It does appear that some changes need to be made in the front office; not because of how Aaron has been ignored, although that is a part of it, but when he read that list of names….as a fan, that had a huge impact on me. Every name on that list….great guys, the types of guys every team needs on and off the field. I still feel that Adam Schefter was the driving force for blowing this thing up. Teams may have made offers for trades, but the thing that is crystal clear now is that he was either retiring or playing in Green Bay. And from what he was saying today, retirement was only a small thought.
  2. This may be my favorite highlight video; ESPECIALLY the play at the 1:03 mark 🙂
  3. If Aaron did call for this, I am fine with it. I HATED seeing Cobb (aka Bear Killer 😄 ) go. I am REALLY fired up he is back
  4. Aaron has 2 years remaining on his current contract, with an option for the 23 season. Under the current deal, he will be a UFA in 24.
  5. The bar has been raised, but there are still some things that have not been done yet. Beat OSU is likely highest on the short list. Getting to and winning a major bowl follow that. Beyond that, beating Michigan and Penn State in back to back season would be another step up.
  6. Schefter trying to save his job now
  7. While I could say I KNEW this all along, it was just a hunch. There were many more reasons TO play in Green Bay than not. That said, I would like to see him actually address what all REALLY went on. It is undeniable there WAS something to the story; but what exactly was it? I would also guess that if he does show up to camp, the deal with Adams will be done shortly after.
  8. I think of them when I talk about what I would like to see happen. I know it never will, but do feel it should. If East Allen would consolidate into one, MAYBE two high schools, they could go in with the larger SAC schools, along with Warsaw to form a new 5A/6A conference. Wishful thinking, I know.
  9. Just some history though….Government stepping in is what created the NCAA. Not saying I disagree, just adding perspective.
  10. As Jerry Lee once said…whole lotta shakin goin on how quickly will the landscape change? SEC leadership is way ahead of the game.
  11. Might even see teams like Vandy and Mizzou looking to move.
  12. That would be the death knell for the Big 12. My guess is the top teams left would go to the Pac 12? Maybe the Eastern most teams in the B1G? West VA to the ACC?
  13. Another solid commitment https://indiana.rivals.com/news/indiana-lands-2022-safety-phillip-dunnam-from-miami?fbclid=IwAR3fTKd4jv98dGxr2JY9CGjXWnDseb1Uw4zZ7CSlTjbupy9cnJ4yRIPy7tU
  14. In the highlight video I saw, he was.
  15. He has done a great job with that program. Angola has been our official scrimmage opponent for quite a while now, and they have improved quite a bit in his time. As far as him going anywhere; don't be too quick. He has a really good thing going. And to be in the area where lake life is so prominent? I am guessing he has passed on a few opportunities already. Sometimes a good fit is enough to keep a person in place. I have a few friends who really like the situation they are in that would be great as head coaches; or coaches in bigger programs.
  16. Thank you for sharing this MP. RIP Tom, and prayers to his family and friends.
  17. It doesn't.....Just countering that there is not a sign of any negative impact academically for the students there due to the number of them on campus.
  18. Maybe…..but they do a lot of things very well. They do keep the number of students per teacher really low…..at about 18 students per teacher. With that many students in one building, there are some advantages. They are consistently in the high 90’s for graduation rate percentage. They are able to offer a wider variety of courses. But Carmel is unique. If there were an IPS school with the limited resources it has, it’s likely to have the opposite effect. I even remember in college in the late 80’s doing observations, and they had PE classes with 100 kids. The teacher said it was a common thing.
  19. Not disagreeing with anything you said, just stating that other schools saw the split and decided against doing the same. Fair questions to ask….not sure if they have been asked in those districts or not.
  20. It's been a while...interesting to see that Adam Schefter has gone all in on his claim that Rodgers will not play and just does not want to play in Green Bay. If he is wrong, it SHOULD cost him his job. He was the first to take the bait, and is the one who started the publicity side of this. More and more people are following the belief that he will be in Green Bay. No one has said they see him just sitting out this season. As I said from the jump, someone in Rodgers camp leaked this. It is very possible Rodgers is upset with the front office, and highly likely. Bottom line is that he is a competitor. Financially, he could lose up to $30 Million for sitting out.
  21. I said this on here years ago, that these two splitting are what lead to other area schools becoming so big. I am convinced that splitting the districts into two schools was taken off the table because these two districts did split. Like it or not, athletics play a factor in those decisions. Success in any program, athletic, musical, theatrical, whatever it may be, amounts to more publicity for a given school; which means more people will attend, maybe even move into the district to attend.
  22. Interesting idea, but there are some things to keep in mind. One, it really is not an all star game. Starting at the region level, each class must be represented in each region. One thing that has been brought up before is maybe having a 1A-3A game, and a 4A-6A game. Another issue is who is available to play. Many DI programs do not want their players participating in the game. Another factor is the way the regions are drawn.....Indianapolis is its own region while regions 6 and 8 surround Indy, and the distance is pretty extreme. Region 6 has North Montgomery down to the area just North of Evansville, and goes to the Indiana border. Maybe split Indy into a North and South region? or even an East and West? I know some of the distance issue is unavoidable; so with that being the case, maybe use sectional groups to vote on players? All that said, in previous years, the North has been able to hold its own in the game. Blowouts are not the norm. I did not go this year, but the previous few years I did go, it is well attended. So, I am not sure there will be much urgency to change things.
