  1. And another downward spiral is going full force. Come on guys.
  2. I agree 100%. I pray we do not shut down. My confidence level is not as high as some here, but I hope we pull it off.
  3. In a perfect world, sure. But, if an offer has been made and the kid accepts(signs LOI), now the school has an investment; whether they redshirt or not. They have one less scholarship available for the year. In my 28 years now of coaching, I have no doubt many of those kids will be told to not play. Even if it is 1%, there is still an impact on the game or the team directly involved. In this area, St. Francis, NAIA is playing in the Spring, so that may take more kids out of the picture. Obviously, nothing is certain. I do believe the IHSAA is now all in on the season being this Fall, no matter what happens. We will not see an entire system shut down like we did in March with ALL schools statewide. Now, things could get bad enough to warrant that, but I cringe at the thought of how bad that would be.
  4. I disagree. The season would start after signing day. Any D1 kid would likely be told to skip the season, or work to get those kids on campus early. I am sure a few of those kids were actually planning to be on campus for the 2nd semester. There may even be FCS schools, and D2 schools doing the same; especially with many of them moving their seasons to the Spring already.
  5. I believe a couple people said they viewed a zoom meeting with Robert Faulkens, and he said that the minimum game standard has been waived.
  6. Ok....another one bites the dust. Having a topic or two regarding what is happening with schools opening and sports beginning is ok. The personal attacks are broing. Venturing off into the politics is for the OOB forum, not the football page. We are 10 days from scrimmages.
  7. OOB Question....your response has absolutely nothing to do with my post. I was showing Statguy where he could have posted the additional closings, delays, or other disruptions to programs instead of starting a new topic each time.
  8. Calling someone a d bag on here is a pretty classless thing to do.
  9. Is it your intention to start a new topic for each program that gets shut down? Has positive tests? Or just temporarily suspends sports? Because there are over 300 schools in the State. And there may be a day where we see a significant number do one of those things. I am sure most people here would prefer to not see the first page full. There is a topic open where these could have been added. How about just posting there?
  10. That really is an ignorant statement. It completely depends on what the coaching responsibilities are. If a coach is a coordinator, he has been in close contact with every player on a given side of the ball. There simply is not enough info given to make such a ridiculous comment.
  11. From what I read, the NP student had the wrong return to school date from his doctor; meaning he had it before he started school.
  12. The concern on my part is at NP, the kid showed up with it. Even though the doctor got the date to return wrong, someone in the house should have known that if the kid still has it, stay home. I mentioned it in an earlier post....probably in one of the many topics that needed to be locked, is parents will send kids who have it. Some may not know because they choose to not test, or some will decide they have to go to work and cannot keep the kid at home.
  13. The BMI chart????? seriously???? I have to cover this in my class. To put it simply; the chart says if you are X ft. X inches tall, you should ideally weigh XXX. This chart is so obsolete, I cannot imagine an era when it would have ever been an accurate measure of health. That said, it appears that this topic has not become about Rochester any more; and just another place for both sides to express repeated claims made on the other what? 50 topics now locked on the virus???
  14. I saw on twitter that Adams County teams are only allowing parents. Each kid gets 4 people they can have at a game.
  15. While I agree that classes could be adjusted based on the number of teams playing at the end of the season and have played the required 4 games, the problem will be what to do with 6A. Since a large number of teams are in the Indy area, and other large cities, where the risk of having a season delayed or even cancelled is higher, schools with even smaller enrollment numbers are going to bump up? Or the teams in 6A could bump down to 5A if needed. My guess is if a County Health Department does something like the one in Marion County did, the 4 game minimum would be waived for this season.
  16. I agree 100% These are closing fast folks. Try staying on topic
  17. Explaining any further is completely unnecessary.
  18. Yep, this one is quickly heading down that same wormhole lol
  19. Yeah; not a fan of laughing at someone that suffered from this and passed away. His stance on the masks aside, I think it is sad that people can find humor in it.
