I'm surprised Homestead didn't receive any votes in 6A. I've heard they have very good team this year. Also, surprised Warsaw didn't get a vote or two IMO, may be able to give Penn a run for sectional this year.
I would be interested in looking the Sagrain ratings over the past 10 years. I think the Sagrain ratings for the SAC get "skewed" down due to all in conference games the past 4 seasons.
Yes, Carmel is always an obstacle now. Snider matched up better with them back in the 90's and early 2000's, that can be directly related to school size IMO. I do think this year they have good chance with the senior heavy team, but you never know until the time comes.
I'm really hoping they can get by regional (likely have to beat Carmel) this year and play Penn for semi (99% sure that would be team). They haven't played Penn in post season for quite some time.
Yeah, strange that a team that wins sectional two years in a row (Snider) with a smaller enrollment, trumps a higher enrollment school that won a regional. Oh well, not complaining since I rather have Snider play in 6A, just curious.
They have 37 seniors this year, so the experience is there. Let's see if they can get over the "Carmel" hump this year. That is if they can beat Homestead, heard they have good team this year as well.
I've heard Duff is TE, maybe starter?? Have not heard anything on injuries. There were a few Snider "posters" on GID last year, but haven;t seen them this year, Komets 3001 come to mind but seems to be AWOL this year.
Maybe Muda should start up their own high school football web site so those threads can be openly discussed and presented?? Muda just needs to move on.
I too would rather have them play Carmel or other team that comes out of sectional 4 and have limited success. As long as they are competitive. They were in 2017 until they imploded/went into thug mode, 2018 they were not very competitive. But I'll take that over pasting Kokomo by 40 in regional year after year in 5A. Snider should want to play the best. I do like the 5 year, but maybe same thing could be done in 3 or 4 years, most "dominate" team cycles due to heavy class(es) is a 1 to 2 year stretch at the upper level it seems.
I will say Homestead is certainly due, but they always seem to choke vs Snider or Dwenger and/or lay an unexpected egg against Luers, Carroll or another mid level team. We will see. Can't wait for season to start less than four weeks now !!
