Week 2 really screwed up from that worthless Border Bowl series. What a waist of time. I’d rather play Forest Park or Princeton. I think Memorial is in a 1 year road game contract with Northview.

Sadly several Princeton players struggled with position work. Kids had no idea how to do simple OL and DL drills. Sounded like they’ve had very few organized workouts.

Princeton varsity looked great vs two SIAC JV and freshman teams. 🤪

Princeton got to face Reitz and Memorials backups. Or they would of had a wasted day. Reitz and Memorial went at it pretty good with 1’s,

Memorial has lots of interchangeable parts this season. Wouldn’t surprise me to see Pence at WR in some packages. McCool was by far #1 RB last year. I see him having huge season both offensively and defensively. Combs is on a different level in the SIAC and it’s not close. I see Memorial’s defense being better than last years. Defense looked big, fast and physical in scrimmage vs Reitz.

12 kids return that started in sectional championship plus 3 that rotated playing significant snaps. McCool ran for 145 in that game and 4 underclassmen scored. 4 of top 5 WRs return and starting RB. Defense will be really really good. Sounds like 5 teams could be in contention for SIAC. Hopefully teams stay healthy for week 10.

Castle usually has pretty good RBs and good size upfront and at LB. I would expect the same this year.

Question Is it uncommon when a new HC is hired for staff to be reassigned or asked to do a different job within the program? Mainly because in high school a new coach is lucky to bring 1 or 2 from his former staff. Example; maybe a guy goes from D coordinator to OL/DL coach? I think most new HC in our area...especially EVSC has to work with the staff left and then evaluate where best served. I would guess some take the assignment and some look for what they consider a better opportunity.

Why would it matter which coaches stayed or left during Lewis hire. Remember, Lewis was handed a loaded group. Anyone could have coached that group. Is it uncommon for coaches or assistant coaches to move around? Reitz picked up a really good coach this year from Central after their recent turnover at HC. Wow how could Central let that happen? Not shocking that some of Nick or John’s friends went to GS. Just as some followed Brunson to Harrison.

SIAC is kind of handcuffed when it comes to hiring head coaches. Basketball and football head coaches are licensed teachers or administrators that work in the school that they coach.

Just don’t see kids over coming coaching flaws enough to win state a couple regionals and 3 sectionals. Reitz has never been short on talent. I could be wrong but it just seems like a few years ago they had a really really talented group. Can’t remember all the names but Mahan was QB and had a phenomenal year. Maybe around 2015 and 2016.

I just assumed it would be 9 SIAC games. Any idea or rumors on the new set up? Two non conference would be nice but I’m guessing coaches and ADs are tired of finding games. The former AD at Memorial did a 1 year deal at Northview week 2. When I think about that I like not worrying about non conference.

3 of last 4 coaches couldn’t lose a game without emails and phone calls. Lived on west side 35 years. Lewis accomplished as much if not more than all head coaches during that time span. Not aware of any concerns during his tenure but the guy can flat coach. Jasper got a great one. SIAC will soon figure that out.

Reitz has 6 regional titles in football that are recognized by ihsaa. Lewis has 2 of those in 5 years. His state title came in year 2.... how is that inherited? If you guys struggled with Lewis I can only imagine what your going thru now.

You are correct, Sir! My apologies!! He is an awful coach. I thought he went twice. Now I can see why people were not happy with him 🤪

Facts- 63 wins in 5 years , 3 sectorial titles, 2 trips to LOS, 1 state title, and 1 very sour dad. Those are facts. I could be wrong but the coach he replaced had 63 wins in 6 seasons?

Lewis in 5 seasons at Reitz 3 sectional titles , and two trips to state with an undefeated state title and big blue couldn’t wait for him to leave. That is funny as hell. Come on? That sounds so stupid!

So we agree on unrealistic expectations year end and year out? And that Big Blue ran Gaddis out of town? I think the last straw for coach Gaddis was the tombstones in his yard for his wife and kids to see.

Internal problems started in Henderson before Lewis ever arrived. Same people hating on Lewis are the same people that worshipped him at Reitz. He got out of a place that has unrealistic expectations year end and year out. Gaddis did the same and that turned out pretty good. Big Blue drove him out of town , Lewis out of town and sounds like current coach can’t wait for AD job at Reitz to open.

Jasper hasn’t been typical Jasper in 16 and 18. Rest of decade looks pretty good. I haven’t seen many local teams trying to get Jasper on their non-conference schedule over the last decade.
