  1. Tremendous player but you need to get down and watch more SIAC games. Athletes all over the conference. Don’t know the kid to like or dislike.
  2. Yes he did. Put on a show. But thanks for reminding me of that state title.
  3. Dumfries that’s the beauty of the SIAC. Evans is certainly a great player but the RB from there last year was as good if not better. Their OL and DL was arguably the best of any not 6A. I’d rather Evans be back then that OL and DL. SIAC is full of RBs that would have you saying, “have fun stopping him!” Case and point....Finn McCool ran up and down The Jewel like he owned it last year. I’m not sure he was in the top 3 or 4 backs in SIAC last year. Athletes all over the SIAC. Just ask Boonville about Bosse. A 1 win team that got smashed in SIAC took Boonville to the shed for 3 quarters.
  4. Memorial Central Reitz B South MD Lincoln New Albany Princeton
  5. Looking forward to MD and Indian Creek. Is the QB transfer from Warren Central playing at Creek?
  6. Did what I thought they would do. Starting D played about 8 plays together and 3rd string RB carried the load. I think last year Castle scored 10 times. Wilkerson caught 3 TDs vs backup jv kids. When Pence can run and McCool and Combs carry the load the offense will be fine. That 1st D series Castle would have been punting after 3 plays. Second series Memorial gets a sack and pick. Starters out after that. Hurley is 0-12 in scrimmage games. I think I called it on my post 9 hours ago!
  7. Expect a big game from Castle tonight. They take pride in dominating the scrimmage with starters as much as possible and then finishing 3-4 in SIAC. I see 10-15 plays max for Memorials starters. Maybe less for several on defense.
  8. I keep hearing Central has no OL or DL that can compete in SIAC. Don’t get me wrong, still explosive. The THS transfer QB won’t play unless Banks gets hurt and then it’s still iffy. I think top 5 will be very competitive.
  9. https://www.courierpress.com/story/sports/high-school/2019/08/13/evansville-area-hs-football-preseason-power-rankings-watchlist/1818225001/ I would change Reitz 3 MD 5 Castle 6 HH 7 Boonville 8
  10. SIAC looks solid again. Central has weapons. OL and DL play seems to be the big question from those close to program. May not need a line with that speed. IMO OL and DL win the big games. Should be interesting year! Reitz, MD, and Memorial look like physical defensive teams.
  11. He never played at either school B or C and he is now back at A where he was kicked out of regional game. By the spring of that school year he was suspended from school and sent to alternative school. I won’t mention why , but it falls under code of conduct. The family moves anytime they get in trouble. Central St. Louis Central Princeton Somewhere in Illinois Central The best part the dad always ends up with a job in what ever corporation they’ve landed. I’m all for second chances but this is comical and you can bet Paul Neidig and Andy Owen have everything to do with this family making a mockery of IHSAA, the SIAC, and high school sports. No suspension served there but they did quit after a couple games.
  12. Great article about a group of kids that weren’t a part of a state runner-up and have been in trouble at every school. How about more on Boberg , Schutte, and others who contributed last year. Instead, we hear about the Evans crew, including the dad. Poor job Gordo on this preseason article. At minimum, I would think the oldest should have to sit 1 game for being kicked out his last IHSAA game, plus 2 more for code of conduct before leaving (asked to leave) Central for Princeton.
  13. It’s just a physical fast league from top to bottom. We talk about the lower 3 teams in SIAC but all 3 have weapons, good size, and athletes. VL will be just fine. Just not any games you can’t be focused and locked in. Speed kills and they all have it.
  14. Next year week 1 will be a conference game. 😂. Coach Hurt threw some jabs at a couple people during media day. That must be the thing to do when you finish middle of the pack with lots of talent.
  15. It’s been a great league with some of the best teams (all sports) to ever play in SW Indiana. Good luck and it should be a fun final season. Looking forward to VL and Jasper joining the SIAC.
  16. Sounds like Bosse has a very fast physical team this year. They could have a breakout year. Bosse more than any other team has to stay healthy. Central has so much speed I’m not sure they need much blocking.
  17. Just have hard time thinking Castle will jump to top 2. Seems like they are destined for .500 in SIAC most years. I can see MD sticking around top 4.
  18. The calm before the storm I like what I saw from Reitz, Central and Memorial this summer. Those are my top 3 in no particular order. MD and Castle in my next tier. Big name programs that have a lot to prove in siac after the past couple of seasons. Bottom tier Bosse, Harrison, and North. North seems excited about this group. Harrison numbers are way way down. Bosse could be a title contender in sectional 32 if healthy and a good draw. Hurry up week 1
  19. Huge win for TC. Wins are hard to come by....especially in July.
  20. No it’s about mommy and daddy expecting more because they pay 15k? Right T32? I give Hurley credit because when he has the horses his teams finish at LOS. I’ve seen teams in SW Indiana that have the horses and can’t get it done. Nobody cares about 7 on 7 in Arkansas! Lmao.
  21. It should be wide open in the south for 3A public schools to advance to state. I can name 1 school for sure that is extremely excited about that. Chatard went north and Memorial to 4A. That’s the way some prefer it. Easy path over a challenging path. Speaks volume about competitiveness. I guess it comes down to mommy and daddy having higher expectations since they’ve invested 15k?? Or at least I think I’ve read that on a previous post.
  22. I think 3A public schools in SW Indiana have been disappointed because some of their best teams they’ve had couldn’t beat Chatard or Memorial to advance in the state tournament over the past 10 or so years. I think coaching and work habits had more to do with it than just athletes. JMO.
  23. Yep! Unless you were Memorial until being bumped to 4A. They’ve made a habit out of beating Chatard. At least sectional 32 has a clearer path. 😜
