  1. All nice players and crazy to think Davies might not be the best in game QB at Reitz.
  2. Reitz, Mater Dei, Memorial and Heritage Hills are 4 really good programs from the SWI area with a long history of good football.
  3. I think Memorial is in Indy this coming weekend for 7v7.
  4. Based on the run for Memorial since 2016, I’d say they found ways to be more than just competitive.
  5. No troll. Just not convinced last year or this years Panthers have a big gap on the competition. SWI has had some dominating teams in recent years. I would not put last years Reitz team in that group. They could prove me wrong in 23’. They certainly have a lot of talented dudes Memorial and Vincennes should have great QB play and lots of good athletes around them. North has dudes if they can ever figure out consistent offense. Jasper and Castle are always tough to play, especially on the road. MD will find the pieces by rivalry week and possibly have a say in SIAC title.
  6. For them to statistically be the best team in 88 years, they sure struggle to get wins versus Memorial, MD and Vincennes. Not to mention that sectional performance. They were far from dominate every Friday night.
  7. -Reitz should be tops in SIAC but not ready to say Big Gap. Committed a lot of bad penalties last year and they were no-shows in the tournament. Certainly the favorites on paper. -VL should be in the top 4 with all the returning talent. Great athlete at QB. Need to finish games this year. -Memorial. I trust Hurley will be just fine with Fisher/Bryant, a top notch RB and athletes on the outside. Possibly one of the more athletic teams Memorials had in recent years. Worth noting..there’s also a Combs entering 10th grade. -MD and their staff always find a way to be physical and tough regardless of the names. -North is always scary but unless they replaced their OC they will be middle of pack. Always have dudes but just seem to fall short of expectations. -Jasper is just different than any team in the siac. Never underestimate the Cats. Tough to beat Jasper in any sport. -Castle played much better than I expected last season. Expect them to be very competitive most nights. Never short on QB talent or WR talent. Bosse, Harrison, and Central. just stay healthy in these games.
  8. That will give him a couple years to develop and learn the offense. Any idea what type of offense they run? Do they prefer pocket type passer or a more mobile get out of the pocket QB?
  9. Hearing he is a PWO with opportunities to earn scholarship.
  10. Can’t blame kids for finding the right fit. I think the talented freshman basketball player starting at Reitz is a kid that went to McGary. I’m hearing The Reverend Brooks is doing “Gods Work” and helping a few talented kids find that right fit. 😂.
  11. Good year to be decent in hoops. SIAC looked like a 2nd tier basketball league in SW Indiana. Jury still out on football after getting boat raced by Boonville when it mattered the most. JMO. This reply could age poorly but I’m taking the field ( top half of siac ) to be right there. The new scholarship packages at MD and Memorial include lots of NIL money opportunities.
  12. Any idea of schools being considered or offers on the table? Seems late in the process.
  13. Any word on the MDs QB plans next fall? I haven’t seen anything on social media. Has he committed?
  14. I can remember being concerned about the trenches in 2018. Undersized and not very experienced group that were just tough kids.
  15. Having two capable QBs is a good problem. Bryant obviously feels he can win the position. Would not make sense transferring to be QB2. Unless it was more about the environment and education. 😂 I just think his chances of being QB1 were better at a few other schools. I like the fact he’s in blue and white and not afraid of the battle ahead.
  16. I’m a little surprised the Bryant kid didn’t transfer to North. They need a solid QB and he passes North driving down 41. I don’t see Fisher getting knocked from QB1. Especially if Fisher is “all-in” this offseason. Is Bryant capable of playing other positions or is he set on competing for QB1? Does Hurly implement a 2- QB system. Bryant looked like a solid running QB in limited time last season.
  17. NFL scouts rarely miss on finding kids that should be drafted or at minimum invited to camp with chance to earn a contract. All FCS, G5, and P5 schools host pro days leading up to the draft. IMO regardless of where Brady ends up I’m sure NFL talent scouts know him and will follow his progress over the next few seasons.
  18. NFL draft scouts and NFL team reps visit colleges daily during the fall season. FCS, G5, and P5 teams have reps at practices watching players. They know where possible draftees are and they follow them religiously throughout the year.
  19. I’m assuming you never played college sports? You can be incredible at any college athletic program.
  20. Not sure. I think a player has to find the right fit with coaching. Great coaches and great position coaches from D3 to FBS. I think players get a pretty good idea how things are going to shake out and what their chances are of being QB1. Ultimately, most probably want a chance to play asap regardless of level. NFL scouts go to a lot of college practices from FCS, G5 and obviously P5. If you can play they will notice.
  21. I’ve never heard of this debate?
  22. I know USI has offered and I’m thinking UE has offered. Can’t imagine any kid giving up Friday night lights but it wouldn’t shock me in todays era of softness. Lots of good QBs from 6th grade up at Memorial. The 7th grade QB is the best I’ve seen at Memorial for that age. If the Bryant kid comes in focused he could win the spot. IMO. His competition will be busy playing baseball.
  23. Official visit? Or a Junior invite day? Huge difference. 75% of players do Junior days at the bigger schools.
