2023 Conference Indiana (what's left of it)
ptr replied to MuleDriver's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Go to the following link and then go to "recent" and there are both of Evansville North's sectional games against Floyd Central and Castle that are available, and they were not pay games so anyone can access them. Southern Indiana Sports Productions (ihsaatv.org) -

Here is the travel schedule for teams that make it to the semi-state in the southern side of the bracket: A Bloom. South win puts them on the road to either Decatur Central or Whiteland. An Evansville North win puts them at home against Decatur Central or Whiteland. -

Pick'em results from sectional championship play: LC_Bears_04 (4-0) - 37-5 ptr (4-0) - 37-5 Frozen Tundra (4-0) - 36-6 MuleDriver (4-0) - 30-12 Bulldog 15 (no picks) - 30-8 THPD (no picks) - 24-3 (Weeks 3 thru 9) The games involving CI teams went as expected with South the only team left going forward. I'm going to keep this going, but to make things interesting, I'm going to include the other regional game that feeds into the southern semi-state game. Here are the games to pick: Evansville North @ Bloomington South Whiteland @ Decatur Central -

In my particular case, a person would be hard-pressed to find any posts this season criticizing the refs. I remember mentioning the number of calls going against South in games this season, but in most cases, I thought they were legitimate calls and they were mentioned because they impacted the game up to that point. I didn't mention it on this game until it was brought up, and I thought I would bring up that one particular case where the lack of a call was pretty egregious. When there is a sub-par officiating crew or one crew having a bad night officiating the game, and there are numerous questionable calls, it usually evens out with each team being affected by it. It doesn't change anything to labor on the issue, so I usually refrain from getting into it. -

That game was archived at Seymour High School (ihsaatv.org). Also, the Ev. North/Castle game is available. It was 21-21 at the half in that game and I watched the 2nd half, and it was a game of all offense and no defense. There were four turnovers in the first half of that game, and a few in the 2nd half by both teams. -

It was not a good week on the injury front losing one of the best kickers in the state to a weightlifting injury and then losing our best DB in Crum-Hieiftje to the arm injury. You may have seen it, but Coach Johnson says it may be something where they can cast it and he can still play, but they just don't know yet. Outside of the injury to our starting center in the 2nd qtr of the season opener, the offense has stayed healthy up till now, and the 0-line has played great, so there is that. Our front seven on defense has stayed healthy and there is a lot of speed there, so there is that also. -
Evansville North 60 Castle 50 (final) Castle scored a meaningless TD with 39 seconds left. Onside kick was covered by North. Evansville North will travel to Bloomington South for the regional.
-
Evansville North 60 Castle 43 (under 3 minutes in the 4th) Castle came up just short on a 4th down play and the Huskies again did some damage on the ground while salting this game away with a TD barring a miraculous comeback by Castle.
-
You can get it at the following link and it's not a pay game: IHSAA Champions Network (ihsaatv.org) They were at halftime when the South game was over with so I have watched the entire 2nd half. They have 6 minutes left in the game.
-
Evansville North 53 Castle 43 (8:38, 4th) Castle scored on a pass where at North defender tried to bat a poorly thrown pass down and the ball went to the intended receiver on the deflection in the end zone. Two-point conversion was good.
-
Evansville North 53 Castle 35 (end of 3rd) After trading fumbles near the end of the 3rd, Castle has the ball at their 40-yard line to start the 4th.
-
Evansville North 53 Castle 35 (2:14, 3rd) Castle's run defense is getting hammered with North scoring again on an 82-yard run by Northington. It's a real shootout down there with not a lot of defense. North has missed three straight PATs. I mistakenly gave North an extra point on their previous TD.
-
Evansville North 48 Castle 35 (3:21, 3rd) The Knights responded with a TD to stay close to North.
-
Reitz beat Memorial, 34-0, during the regular season.
-
Evansville North 47 Castle 28 (4:49, 3rd) North tacked on another TD with Rucker setting up the score with another long run.
-
Evansville North 41 Castle 28 (7:58, 3rd) After a Castle punt, the Rucker kid went 70 yards for another TD. The kick was no good. Rucker has gone 120 yards on his last two carries.
-
Evansville North 35 Castle 28 (9:34, 3rd) After the fumble recovery, the Huskies scored on a 50-yard run by a speedster by the name of Rucker (I believe that's how it's spelled.)
-
Castle 28 Evansville North 28 (9:42, 3rd) Both teams scored on their opening possession of the 3rd. Castle just fumbled the ball away to Ev. North at the 50-yard line.

I'm sure that Seymour has some complaints also, but that pass to D'andre Black in the first half where the Seymour DB was holding on/riding him to slow his progress and it went one yard over Black in the end zone was really outrageous and egregious and I'm running out of words for it. I was watching the live video with Seymour announcers and they were laughing about it and saying they don't know how the refs kept their flag in their pocket on that since it was obvious even to Stevie Wonder. -
Bloomington South 49 Seymour 14 (final) South held the Owls to just nine yards of total offense in the 3rd. The Owls drove down to the Panthers 10-yard line late in the game against the South backups but turned the ball over on downs and South stayed on ground to run out the clock. South will host Castle or Evansville North next week in the regional.

I'm watching the live video with Seymour announcers and I couldn't make out who is was. An injury to him will really hurt going forward. Not having Taylor certainly has made a difference on the kickoffs. -
Bloomington South 49 Seymour 14 (5:30, 3rd) After forcing a 3 and out, South scored on a 56-yard pass play to D'Andre Black.
-
Bloomington South 42 Seymour 14 (6:32, 3rd) On the Owls first possession of the 3rd, they threw their third pick of the game setting South up with a short 30-yard field and the Panthers scored on a 3-yard pass play. Since the 1st qtr of play, the Panthers speed on both sides of the ball have been the difference in the game.
-
Bloomington South 35 Seymour 14 (9:00, 3rd) South took the opening kickoff of the 2nd half 58 yards for a score.
-
Bloomington South 28 Seymour 14 (half) South scored on an 8-yard TD pass with 10.4 seconds left in the half. Seymour pretty much played keep away with South in the first qtr by possessing the ball for almost the entire qtr, but the Panthers responded in the 2nd qtr with 28 points and will have the ball to start the 3rd. Not having one of the best kickers in the state in Bryce Taylor (broken collarbone) was noticeable for South since he pretty much kicked every kickoff into the end zone this season. Seymour had a couple of good runbacks on two of the short kickoffs tonight. Taylor is being recruited by major D-1 programs including Wisconsin. He's a junior and will be back next season.
