  1. Do you think Loudon will throw the ball more or will they run more of an Spread option attack?
  2. Is there anything better than Pizza and Beer? Besides football?
  3. I watched Floyd Central vs Charlestown. It’s always so hard to tell from these scrimmages because nobody really gameplans for each other. But if I were just throwing something at the wall, I’d say that our offense looked substantially better than it has been the past few seasons and defensively we have some things to work out with run defense. We have 4 starters back on the OL and it showed. They pretty much mowed down Charlestown and Robertson had all day to throw the ball. He threw some beautiful passes. Everything was right on the money. His go to guy Kaiser is 6”4 and has a lot of speed. He’s one of our basketball studs. They missed Bernardi last season but he looked like a machine running the ball against a 3A team. I thought we did well and had a lot of guys sitting out because of practice eligibility.
  4. Saw the Floyd Central-Charlestown scrimmage. Both teams look like they’ll have a good season.
  5. He said on the radio that he thinks there are 5 teams in the conference that are loaded. I’m not sure what his definition of that is? He also said he has the best freshman class that he’s had in years, and I’ll point out that they lost the Clark/Floyd Championship last year to Highland Hills(Floyd Central Feeder.)
  6. Preview Article for Floyd Central as well. https://www.newsandtribune.com/sports/high-school-football-highlanders-look-to-get-back-on-track/article_c1937790-3730-11ee-87d2-4f2eebcef7f3.html
  7. Pretty good quote from coach Bragg in the Tribune today about the HHC. “I think it’s awesome because every week — week-in and week-out — in the HHC, somebody could win. Everybody’s improved. Everybody has good coaching staffs. We’re younger coaching staffs and sometimes they get overlooked. But every single one of our coaches in our conference makes adjustments at halftime, makes adjustments during the game and keeps you thinking during the week, and that’s huge. I don’t know who’s going to win the conference. Of course we want to win it, but every week we’ve got to show up. You can’t take anybody lightly in this conference because they could always come back to haunt you.”
  8. Absolutely. You are always here. I appreciate your football candor. Hopefully East will get something figured out.
  9. Blair Thompson is no longer the Head Coach. He’s an Asst at Floyd Central now. Former Floyd Central, Jeffersonville, Clarksville, Paoli, and some other schools HC Brian Glesing is now the HC. Where’s my East fans at? You guys have been quiet all summer. What’s East looking like? Is this a bounce back season?
  10. What does that have to do with anything? We play a team next week that has over double our talent.
  11. I’d like to have Owen Valley on our schedule. We used to play them in Sectional games back in my heyday. I like that program.
  12. Floyd Central scrimmages a solid Charlestown team. I will take a lot more from that scrimmage than I will the following week when we play the #1 ranked team in Kentucky. Ridiculous. We drop Male and end up playing an even better team.
  13. Yeah that’s kind of what I figured. That’s what makes scheduling so hard.
  14. BNL/Brownstown would be a good series. Fairly close to each other.
  15. Pretty good schedules if you ask me. I’m happy with FCs Non-Con. St X will blow us out, and everyone knows I hate playing those kinds of teams, but THS and Silver Creek will be competitive games and they’re both at Home.
  16. I liked coach Glesing. My cousins played for him. Really good coach when he was at FC. I wanted him to stay but I guess he felt he needed a change. A lot of parents complained that he wouldn’t pass enough and there were some other things. I hope he does well at Salem because he’s a pretty good guy.
  17. I heard today that Blair Thompson, the former Salem HS HC is now on Floyd Centrals staff. That’s a good pickup for coach Bragg, he’s a good coach. He had some good seasons there. Coincidentally after he stepped down he was replace by Brian Glesing. Lol.
  18. Just a guess. I would think in this conference, that’s a common quote. Big fan of Memphis Louden and Cal Gates.
  19. Yeah they’re good. They may win the HHC. They beat us 13-10 up there last year. They’re hard to move the ball on.
  20. I mean, hired from within the program. Coach Bragg is from Illinois but he’s been around here for quite a while and was with coach Glesing. Same with coach Cooley. He’s been around here for a while and was with coach Fields at NA. I thought I had read that Barker was an Asst for Steve Weber?
  21. You’re not wrong. And there’s nothing saying that coach Moore or coach Bragg won’t be successful. I think this season will tell a lot.
  22. Bragg, Cooley, Barker, Vogel, and Parker were for sure guys who were elevated. I thought Moore was a guy who was elevated when their previous coach left. So, that’s on me for bad information.
  23. 2024 Season look ahead Im not going to put out an order of finish because I don’t see much separation between several teams. I feel confident that between BNL, East, FC, and Seymour, that one of those 4 teams will most likely be conference champs. It doesn’t mean the other 3 can’t suprise, but it’s not expected. BNL-Maybe the deepest team coming back. Louden, Hughes, Bates, Gates, Childs. They bring back all of their skill guys. Barker is a good coach. They’ll be up at the top. East-They have come back to the pack. It was expected after the loss of one of the best coaches in Indiana history. FC-After 2 mediocre seasons, I’m hoping this is the bounce back season. Robertson is a 3 year starter at QB, Bernardi back at RB, an experienced OL, several athletic WRs, and an All State LB, I’m hoping for a conference and sectional championship this season. Jeffersonville-Coach Parker has made them more disciplined but they are a long way away from being competitive. You’d think that having 2200 students would give them plenty to work with? You’d think? Jennings County-They were better last season. They beat us up there. If they get to .500, then they’ve round a gem at HC. New Albany-Coach Cooley is a veteran HC and a really good offensive mind. But they’re still trying to replace that generational class they had. They have a lot of good athletes at New Albany so they’ll find some good skill guys, but their football program has a ways to go, going down to the lower levels. Seymour-Could be the best of the bunch. Perry is a rock solid QB. Their WRs Pennington and Hilleman are really good. They get their TE Jaylan Johnson back. They’ll have the best passing game in the conference IMO. Well coached team. Thanks for the correction. I thought I had heard he was from within the program.
  24. It’s James Bragg. But overall records don’t mean much to me. I think Tyson Moore at Seymour is very good. But one thing I’ve noticed is, that none of these programs have hired their current HC from outside the school.
