Not what he said.
It's what he's been saying since...like 1999 here. BD isn't what it used to be...see they don't produce players. WC isn't what it used to be...see they don't produce players.

A month to prepare…congrats.
What in the hell does Aaron Henry have to do with BD football?
I threw him in for good measure. We've had a pretty good run of athletes on the Westside. This idea that the Westside or the Eastside haven't produced athletes is poppycock.

I don't seeing the MIC kicking out two charter members and then just rushing to add schools. I think it has to be a school that's going to check the boxes identified in the letter.

He’s speaking currently. Pros in the league in 2021 is reflective of the “talent” from the Allen/Kirschner years.
Hell, even the 2017 Mr. Football winner hit the transfer portal today because he is struggling to see the field/stay healthy at a 2 win Big Ten team.
IU wasted no time on this one:

He's consistently bashing Warren Central and Ben Davis...like always.
Fact is Ben Davis has had Corey Harris, Morten Andersen, Tandon Doss, Asmar Bilal, MarQuies Gray and Chris Evans and that's it in the NFL. The Giants are soon to have a certain Ohio State tackle joining Evans in the league. BD has Aaron Henry in the NBA pipeline with Philadelphia. There are several D-1 players at major conference schools as well as others who aren't. Dillon Moore just signed with Western Michigan. More commits to come too.

You're leaving one out. Right after Tech. I know, it doesn't fit your narrative though.

How do you account for that awful record this year?
There were lots of reasons why the Giants made it to Semi-State this year.

The numbers are there, but the high level individual talent is not.
LOL. Ben Davis is about to have more pros in the league than it's ever had before at the same time, dude. Gosh, you really should pay attention.

I say this is another great opportunity to abolish conferences and go with districts based on enrollment. That setup can be half of your schedule and then the rest can be scheduled to fit your program.
Conferences are a confederation of schools. The IHSAA has no role in the creation of or regulation of conferences. Plus, almost every school in the HCC or the MIC is in either one of the two largest football classes and the largest class in other classed sports. Why use what's happening between these two leagues as an excuse to breakdown the rest of the state's conferences? You think a team of mostly Class A schools cares about the MIC or HCC?

I am beginning to think the MIC is fine staying at six schools until the right partner comes along. No sense in rushing it.

What is the source of your information?
How do we know it is reliable?
Put your cards on the table
FWIW, I have informally heard the same things as Temptation on the HCC. My sources are not unimpeachable though. I haven't heard anything directly from the horse's mouth. I'd term it rumor at this point, but...rumor worth watching.

My sources say there may be some HCC fallout from adding Carmel and Center Grove. Another individual I know speculates that Carmel may have an easier time getting added (natural rivalries) than CG. Should be interesting to see how this shakes out.
Carmel and CG opened the door and dared the MIC to make a move, and the MIC gave them the push they desired.
In the end, this will shake out. It's been a fun run with this group of schools in the MIC. If this would have happened four or five years ago, I would have been shocked, but I came to see the "writing on the wall" over the last couple of years. The rumors became reality.
I wish the folks at Carmel and Center Grove the best. I will especially miss working with Carmel. Jim Inskeep is a first-rate person and class act. Center Grove has always treated me well, too.

Congratulations to the winners. I also think these individuals merited consideration.

I believe historically that Ben Davis has had two on the freshman level but has never had a female varsity player yet.

I hear that Urban Meyer may be available soon.

How or why could a school not be open to transfers?
I'm not going to get into the weeds, but it happens.

Can anyone tell me how/why Tech High School has suddenly become a premier destination in boys basketball?
They are bucking that inner-city trend but I cannot figure it out for the life of me.
Without digging too far into the weeds, Tech and Attucks have become destinations because their coaching staffs welcome transfers. Attucks has also had a tremendous amount of success recently. Tech won the title with Trey Lyles.
If transferring is being done legally by IHSAA rules, there's not much I say about it. This is happening all over the area, and some schools are open to it. Others are less open to it, but it's happening in every sport.
If it's not being done by the book, it's up to people to prove that. All I know is that you have kids playing at different schools in Marion County for all four of their years in school sometimes.

You could make an argument that David Bell wasn't even the most deserving player on his own TEAM that year. Romeir Elliott rushed for 3100 yards and scored 41 TD's that year. Only one other largest class player has ever rushed for 3,000+ yards in a single season, Shakir Bell who was also snubbed of the award.
Bell was the best player.

The fact that a Center Grove player won last year won't make a lick of a difference. The IndyStar loves giving the award to a large class player from Metro Indy.
David Bell would like a word.

It's not. It would have happened by now.
But we insist on having a yearly discussion about it to keep the tradition alive.
I used to be of this mind, but there's enough smoke that I think there might be something here. I wouldn't think anything's imminent, but it wouldn't surprise me either.

I don't recall but the last time seems like it was about five years ago. Maybe longer...maybe when the Terre Hautes dropped out.
I don't believe the vote for Cathedral to enter was close from my recollection. The MIC has many different ADs/principals now. Who knows?

If you're going to dive into the Facebook morass, I have a suggestion. Make sure to write specific rules and then enforce them. Some of the other Facebook groups dedicated to high school sports are sad messes.

General Warning: Make sure you don't use IHSAA footage. They can get a little upset.

I think he has a real shot. He would be deserving. There are a number of deserving players. This thing is pretty wide open this year.
