Last Friday (9-25-20) Kankakee Valley led Lowell 21-0 at the half and Lowell won 28-21 in regulation time.
I am surprised that I cant find a time when Lowell came from 21 points behind to defeat anyone and I wonder how rare it is.
Do you remember a high school team trailing by 21 at the half and winning in regulation without kicking a field goal?
I can't remember if it was in the first half or not, but BD came back to beat Carmel a few years back after being down 24-0 up at Carmel. BD won 28-24 in regulation.

Sorry, that game was at BD.

From a competitive balance, this is interesting.
From a travel perspective, it's not happening.

Look at your map and compare Jeffs current travel commitments to what they would have in the CI/CC scenario.
Then report back to me with your findings by 10PM this evening.
I doubt the Circle City Conference (a private school Catholic/Jesuit league) would willingly accept teams like Jeff or Harrison (public big outlying schools). Circle City=Indianapolis
Conference Indiana is already on life support. I'm not sure how it's still alive, frankly. -

Doesnt the current HC want to go into administration in the near future?
Not to my knowledge.

I agree with these picks.
Warren/Pike is very interesting as Pike is playing well, but I think BD/LN is the matchup of the week. I think BD wins, they're playing much better than earlier in the season.
Warren's defense is brutal. Pike won't have an answer, IMO.
BD is coming around for sure.

No, we are 5A for the next 2 years.
Sorry, I misunderstood. My apologies. I thought you were referring to Brownsburg/Ben Davis for some reason.

No room at the inn. It's my understanding (unconfirmed but I've heard) that BD is locked up with Brownsburg and Avon for the forseeable future in non-conference games. It would be fun, though.

Pretty sure that was Week 1 and it was running clock at half.
May play again in the Regional.
16 hours ago, DT said:7. Lafayette Jeff 5-0 / Jeff is doing what is is expected to do, which is beat everyone on their schedule, and handily. The North Central Conference is a cakewalk again this year, so Jeff's drive and determination must come from within and from its staff. Pat Shandley is a good one, and will no doubt be on the radar of Indy big school ADs who are looking for a bright young coach to lead their program. Tough for the Bronchos to stay motivated with Marion, Richmond, Logansport and Muncie Central ahead in the next month.
Coach Shanley has big school assistant coaching experience too. He was on Mike Kirschner's staff here at Ben Davis.

Great piece by WTHR on Cade Thompson...a Ben Davis sophomore football player who was diagnosed with cancer. Cade is the brother of Brock and Trevor Thompson and the son of former MLB player Ryan Thompson.

Pike was the target all along
It would have been a very good spot, I agree.

Too bad Mike Gillin never got a chance to coach in The MIC or The HCC. Would have been very interesting to see what he could have done in a school with 3500 students and all that talent roaming the halls.
Pike or Lawrence Central sure could use him now, as could a Franklin Central or Fishers.
He needed you as his agent.

So glad I never waded into that sea.

And neither BD nor WC were highly regarded defensively in those years. CG would move the ball at will behind that Oline
(BD had three defensive Indiana All-Stars including the defensive back Mr. Football in James Banks)

How long was Hart at WC?
Four seasons, but I really saw a difference in the way the series was played during his time there. It became much more about the game than all the other stuff.

Well, maybe you should have been paying more attention.

1991 Ben Davis outscored its opposition 651-125 in 14 games.

Never said they weren’t...
I was talking about DT's original statement. I'm not sure this team's even better than '08 CG yet. Long way to go. If I'm ranking them, I think they have the potential to be up there with '18 WC, '17 BD and teams like that. As far as if we're talking '06 WC or '91 BD, the jury's still out.

I agree with that. Congrats to the Giants on beating the Warriors for the second consecutive season. First loss in eight years at Warren Central for the Warriors too. I find it hard to believe this rivalry used to be one of hatred for each other.
Credit to Mike Kirschner and John Hart for kind of setting this as the standard that both Coach Simmons and West have continued.

Great football game. Giants scored 14 unanswered in the 4th quarter to get the win. I really like what this rivalry has settled into. Competitive and fun. 5-5 over the last 10 meetings.

They're good. Not going to be that bold, but they are good.

We've lost a good one as long time contributor Trojan Dad has decided to step away from The GID.
Trojan Dad has been one of my all time favorites. We exchanged many PMs over the years. As staunch of a supporter of Center Grove football and CG Athletics as you will ever find, TJD loved his Trojans and he loved The Forum. Our bond comes in the fact that we are both Dads of CG graduates, his son and my daughter.
Trojan Dad thoroughly enjoyed the great PP Debate, loved all the threads on recruiting, is a big IU fan and alum, but nothing got his attention more than Center Grove football. He is going out with a bang as the 2020 edition might be CGs strongest team ever. He even tolerated my contraction rants. LOL 😀
Take a minute and wish Trojan Dad all the best as he moves on to other pursuits and interest.
Good luck my friend.
I agree with you, DT. Trojan Dad is a fantastic guy and a great poster on the site. I will miss his insight. He's a class person.

I disagree, strongly. There is no way that you can look at WC and not see that that program has slipped competitively over the past 5 years.
