Im just one of those people that says that whatever BD does on the field, it never seems to be enough.

Frankly, thats not fair to the Giants, but it is what it is when you look at things from a pure high school football perspective.

Because of BD's history and heritage, the standard and the bar can never be set high enough.  They are the NY Yankees of IHSF.  They are the Green Bay Packers.  The Montral Canadiens.  The Boston Celtics.  Notre Dame and Michigan.  Secretariat.  Edwin Moses.  Mark Spitz.  Arnie and Jack.  Dan Gable.

When they fail, heads turn.  People notice.  Whats wrong with Ben Davis?  Dont they still have 4600 kids and a 20 man coaching staff and the best facilities in the state and an unlimited athletic budget?

How could these city studs get mercy ruled by the farmers and subdivision babies of Brownsburg?

BTW.  Its not too hard to make the semi state in 6A.  CG falls out of bed and finds itself in the semistate every year.

For those who are blessed with an overabundance or resources, much is expected.  And demanded by some.

Until Ben Davis University downsizes and becomes just another 3000 student Indy Metro donut school,  my expectations will remain in the stratosphere for the Purple and White.

Yeah. Love how you bashed Mike Kirschner for years. Kept calling for his dismissal, etc. Said nothing when he won two titles.

Being bashed by DT when you're the HC at BD is common. Nothing's new. Same pot same stirring spoon.

I saw on Max Preps this game will be aired Saturday night at 6 on ESPN 2. I believe the game is being played Friday night. Hope this one doesn't get cancelled. Brownburg jumped out to the early lead last year and led 17-16 at the half in Cincinnati. It was all St. X in the 2nd half as the Bombers walked away with a 38-17 win.

Brownsburg Athletics says live at 6 pm Saturday at Roark Stadium.

This is just more clueless talk from you...

Ben Davis was in the SEMI-STATE LAST YEAR!  They were 1 TD away from going back to LOS and playing a team they BEAT in the regular season.  BD is about an ENTIRE MONTH behind Brownsburg in terms of time in the weight room and on the practice field.  They're probably going to get walloped again this Friday, but sadly for the Giants, they're struggling due to COVID, not because the program is in trouble.

Their last 6 years prior to this include 4 Semi-State appearances and 2 State Championships.  Hardly signs of a program that is struggling.

Brownsburg on the other hand, when was the last time they made a Semi-State?  1985?  When was the last time they won a Sectional?  2009?

Finally, Brownsburg returned 17 starters from last years team.  Next year when the playing field is leveled, we'll see who comes out on top.  My money is on BD.

DT doesn't really care. He got people going. That's his motivation.

  4. #2...nope. Never happened before. The program is so much in trouble that it won the MIC last year and finished in the Final Four. We'll see what happens as the year plays out. First game was not what anyone wanted or expected, but Brownsburg is for real. They looked to be in midseason form. BD was hanging on from the start.

#3 CG looks like the 6A juggernaut this year. Brownsburg may very well be #2.

#5 You nailed it on Coach Mallory. He's done a stellar job.

#6 Good to see Coach Brevard (a BD alum) having success at North Side. He's really been working hard to change that culture. A GREAT human being.

#11 Coach O'Shea's doing fine work at NC.

Short answer: No. We can keep speculating and even distorting things to fit our viewpoint, but all we can do is look at data.

Right now the biggest thing is we have entered the last two weeks of Phase 4.5 (set to expire Aug. 27)

    https://www.regenstrief.org/covid-dashboard/

If you check out the data the state has said is most important (hospitalizations, ICU utilization, and deaths) there are a lot of green arrows in the trend data by county. (Allen County and Lake seem to be the main outliers). The question is if these trends continue, will the state move to Phase 5 and  open up games to more spectators.

Marion County Department of Public Health will not be that aggressive even if the state moves to Phase 5.

    It meant to say had

Priscilla Dillow was at the school for years.  John Clark has been there what, maybe 8-10 years.

    Honest mistake

Pris was only AD from 97-02 (though she was Assistant AD for a long time). Bob Britt was AD from 1984-1997. Bob's son, Kevin was AD from 02 to 11. John Clark has been AD since 11. Heather McGowan is the current Assistant AD.

I would not be at all surprised if the Lawrence Township High School athletic apparatus is reconsidering their long term attachment to the MIC

On paper, just a poor fit for both schools.

If the HCC would accept FC, I have no doubt they would also accept LC and LN.

The MIC might be better served to go forward with 6 schools, giving its members more scheduling flexibility in football.  With Cox retired, the 300 mile travel rule might be back in play.

If the MIC were to prefer remaining at 8, Cathedral and Tech would be my top two candidates.   I would not consider any HCC schools for membership.

  8. He's always been good to me personally and professionally. He did also award me the IHSAA Distinguished Media Award for District 2 a few years back. That was something that totally caught me by surprise as I totally did not expect it. Totally humbled and appreciative of that honor.

I haven't always agreed with his decisions, but I think he has done much for high school sports in Indiana. I think that the IHSAA Champions Network will be part of his legacy as well as the Champions Together program.

    I wish him well.

I hope the next Commissioner brings some new ideas, though. I hope specifically that this individual takes a good look at the State Tournament Series in each sport and listens to good ideas from around the state on how to improve each one.
