  1. I'm just telling you what he said..and judging from what he said on Twitter now that he's at Mt. Vernon, he still feels that way.
  2. Still haven't seen DT respond to this fact that Carmel did not travel on a beautiful night for a critical MIC game at BD. --- As far as the BD facilities go, the turf, if I recall correctly, was paid for by the NFL the first time in a grant and by IU Health when it was pulled up and replaced. Giants Stadium had the home side/track reconstructed in 2006 as part of the renovation of the Chapel Hill 7th & 8th Grade Center. The northern locker room building was built at that time and built around the existing scoreboard/storage building. It includes garage bays for outdoor equipment and maintenance vehicles. This building also houses restrooms for the visiting side. The southern (home) locker room was built in 1998. The visitors side (OLD HOME SIDE) was constructed in circa 1988. The press box on that side was replaced two years ago as it had fallen into severe disrepair and had major roof problems. It is used by all media except for WBDG.
  3. Benton Central had to go to Evansville to play in the Semi-State last year in basketball.
  4. Mike Kirschner, when he was at Ben Davis, said seed 'em 1-32 and play 'em. If you have to travel, so be it.
  5. Taught at Franklin Central and never once thought of Center Grove as a rival.
  6. Carmel fans did not travel to Ben Davis. Does offensive line count? BD played nine offensive linemen in the Avon game alone. But you're right. Everyone has injuries. Not an excuse.
  7. Kind of a perfect storm of things. Still plenty of talent here at BD. Lost a ton of seniors from the 14-0 State Champs in '17. Lots of new people starting last year, and they've continued to grow up. I think Coach Simmons is getting settled now, too. Allen and Kirschner were both on staff when they moved into the head coaching role, Simmons had been gone from BD for a few years before returning (hired in March). Then, lots of staff changes. '18 was kind of a "lost year". I think things are getting back now to normal, but we'll see as the season progresses. Anyway, this is a thread about the Irish. Great win again for that program and for a very good coach in Coach Peebles!
  8. Well, again, this wasn't Rodenberg's first time at the rodeo.
  9. I saw somoene earlier in the thread ripping on BD's record this year. The only other team to beat Carmel and Warren this year other than Trinity...Ben Davis. Congratulations to Cathedral on a spectacular victory. Really an excellent win over a storied program.
  10. Bill Peebles had that program going in a good direction. He rebuilt the Southport program and had LC headed north. 12-9 after two years after a three year 10-21 stretch under the previous coach. If Coach Rodenberg didn't investigate the program before he took the job, that's on him. Sorry, this doesn't make much sense to me.
  11. BD is getting healthier and getting some players back. The arrow is pointed up for sure. I'm becoming more sure about them each week. If this team we've seen the last three weeks keeps showing up, anything is possible this year.
  12. What a weird night in the MIC... Pike ties it up with seconds on the clock, Center Grove goes down and kicks the game winner in regulation. Warren has to score with 1:01 to play to beat LN. NC holds serve vs. LC BD upsets (mild upset) Carmel. https://twitter.com/WBDGIndy/status/1180309715907158016?s=20
  13. 1997...John Harrell refuses to recognize the forfeit, though...even though it very clearly happened.
  14. North Central was not coached by Doug Mitchell last year. He retired at the end of the 2017-2018 season.
  15. Call it a feeling. I did once pick the Buffalo Bills to win the Super Bowl.
