  1. If I were them, I'd work on scheduling some MIC schools in the non-Duneland part of the schedule if they can if that's truly their aim to become a big time player in the north. The north is ripe for the emergence of a power if they keep sending Carmel south.
  2. DT and I go way back on this site. I would hope by now that my digs at him are taken by him for what they are worth. He digs back at me too. We've been doing this for...gosh...years. Back when he was Driven T before he was DT. I respect him for the stirring spoon he brings to the board. He knows how to get discussion going. When I agree with him, I say so. When I don't I say so. As far as the Kirschner deal at Warren, it came completely as a surprise to me. I haven't talked to Mike since he left BD at great length. It sounds like from his publicly available statements that his zeal for leading a major program came back at some point while at Mount Vernon and he saw an opportunity to lead his alma mater. It's a no brainer for WC if he wanted the job. Similarly, I'd be shocked if Lawrence Central (or any of the current MIC teams) left the MIC. The original six of the MIC seem committed to continuing it, and Pike and LC joined up within the last 10 years. I just don't see LC leaving for any of the surrounding conferences when the MIC is the MIC. I think it would be foolish for any of the current teams to leave the MIC for another conference. I'll firmly state all of this is my opinion. Reasonably informed, but it's my opinion. I could be completely wrong, but I'd say that the MIC losing LC would be highly unlikely. If I am wrong, I'm very happy to be called out, roasted, served crow straight up with feathers, etc. I always have been since I started on the OLD GID back in the day.
  3. Kirschner League Warren Central Mount Vernon (Fortville) Ben Davis Cascade Hamilton Heights (Jon Kirschner) North Central (Jon Kirschner)
  4. Yeah, I was wrong about that. I own it.
  5. Why does that matter? Franklin Central isn't in the top half of the HCC and you have them jumping to the MIC. I'm saying that LC left Conference Indiana and joined the MIC. The MIC is centrally located for travel and scheduling. The longest trip for them is probably BD or Center Grove. I have heard zero rumblings from anyone at LC that they are thinking of ditching the MIC. LN isn't leaving, and they're in the same district. This isn't a Perry/Southport situation.
  6. BD has been purple and white for as long as I can remember. There's even a letter sweater from the 1920's that has a purple BD in our gym display case.
  7. I was thinking it was LONG before that.
  8. I thought about that, but they were closed so long ago, I thought that was well before football.
  9. I am in agreement. While other Athletic Departments are better when it comes to things like promotion and social media, JZ has done a great job with athletic sponsorships and making the community identify with CG Sports. They are a class organization.
  10. The Lazarus Conference Indianapolis Attucks Indianapolis Shortridge Indianapolis Washington
  11. The "No S" League Benton Central Bison Concord Minutemen Northfield Norsemen Penn Kingsmen
  12. They're going to be driving around and looking for that one for a while.
  13. Since this seems to be the new trend on the board, let's see what is the most mismatched conference lineups might be. I mean...really make them bad. Bad travel, mismatched size, mismatched success...etc. Let's see how bad we can Frankenstein this up. Example: The Four Corners Central Conference Evansville Reitz East Chicago Central Angola South Dearborn Indianapolis Tech East Central Turkey Run
  14. Haven't seen any football fights in person that I can remember. I did have a front row seat for the Pike/Ben Davis girls basketball fight a few years back. I'd rather forget that.
  15. It's been a big hit for sure. I doubt 2021 will be much better as we hopefully come out of this thing.
  16. They have. That school is unrecognizable now whenever I visit. I get that things have changed, but they've been changing and we haven't seen the programs move forward. A few years back, the school board got rid of coaching stipends to cut the budget. That set them back. I don't know if they've been put back in or not...I'm assuming they have or West and Beyers wouldn't have moved from WC to FC. I cheer for the Flashes, and I hope to see them float to the top. I'm just messing with DT. It was just a dig. He digs at me too.
  17. They're 9-2 right now. Playing some good ball.
  18. Taught in that community for two years. It's going to take more than coaching, IMO. No disrespect to FC. I love the school, and I had a great experience teaching there. Great kids. Things change, though. I am very likely wrong.
  19. Didn't either, but it makes sense.
  20. That would be good for Center Grove and bad for Franklin Central.
  21. Hey look! It's DT playing Conference Frankenstein again.
  22. It's really no different than probably what brought Stan Benge back to Ben Davis in girls basketball. Stan not only won championships here, but he's a Ben Davis Alumnus. BD is home. Warren is home for Mike.
