  2. I boostered up the required $30, but I am still seeing ads. Like tons of them. Like tons more than ever before.
  3. So, if you are nerding out and wanting some more Ben Davis Football History... The Giants are 500-369-12 all time. Since 1973, BD has won 72 percent of its games (404-137-0). Since 1984, BD has won 76.8 percent of its games (345-104-0). The Giants are 117-45 all time in the MIC with 11 Championships (7 outright, 4 shared). BD has won 23 Sectionals, 18 Regionals, 11 Semi-States, and 9 State Championships (7 5A, 2 6A). As far as coaching wins go... Dick Dullaghan has 213 wins Mike Kirschner won 95 games Bob Wilbur is third all-time with 59 wins. Lou Parnell is fourth with 31 wins. Tom Allen rounds out the top five with 25 wins. Other Coaches: Bill McClain 19 Red Haviland 15 Jason Simmons 12 John Masariu 11 Ralph Crock 7 Bob Britt 6 Woody Baker 4 Trent Gipson, Sr. 2 Chuck Stuckey 1 Leo Lentz 0 And Bob Otolski is a head coach who never coached a single game. He was hired in 1973 in January, but he was offered an assistant coaching position at IU with Lee Corso. He left without coaching a game. The Giants hired Bob Wilbur instead. That worked out ok! Thanks to Jim Pich for helping me research all of this.
  4. With the win over Pike on Friday, the Giants claimed their 500th program victory. The program took from 1937-1975 to get to 100 wins, but the Giants have won 400 games in the last 45 years. Congratulations to the 16 head coaches in BD history and all the players, assistant coaches, managers, trainers and staff who have made this milestone possible. Win #1 9/23/37 vs. Warren Central, 32-9 (Played at George Washington H.S.) #100 8/29/75 at Pike, 15-14 #200 9/22/89 vs. Terre Haute South at the Hoosier Dome, 47-7 #300 10/23/98 vs. Indy Northwest, 38-20 (Sectional) #400 10/19/07 vs. Brownsburg, 35-13 (Sectional) #500 9/4/20 at Pike, 48-24 Another interesting factoid, BD is now 35-12 vs. Pike, but the Giants are 19-3 at Pike.
  5. I am quite worried about high school radio stations and how all this fits within the mission of educating broadcast students. While no one has yet denied a station to my knowledge purely based on the pay-per-view "gate" option, it makes me wonder if it might happen in the future.
  6. Hmm...I don't know about that. They've played two of the best teams in the state so far. I think they're better than at least Pike and LC. I guess we'll find out as the year continues. I think the Warriors (and BD) are works in progress.
  7. I chuckled at this post a lot. Though...Covenant doesn't play at Tech, I believe they play at Zionsville.
  8. Great win for Brownsburg. Enjoyed the game thoroughly.
  9. Nice game for the Irish. Congratulations.
  10. Ben Davis is open in a hybrid schedule. Students A-K attend Monday/Tuesday, L-Z attend Thursday/Friday. They are virtual the days they are not in person. There are also several students on all virtual called Wayne @ Home. Warren and BD are in different school districts. I'm glad Marion County Department of Public Health decided to open schools this way. It plainly was not safe to open up all in person. We've seen other area schools try that and then have to switch to hybrid or virtual.
  11. Of course it's affecting every team in one way or another.
  12. Yeah. Love how you bashed Mike Kirschner for years. Kept calling for his dismissal, etc. Said nothing when he won two titles. Being bashed by DT when you're the HC at BD is common. Nothing's new. Same pot same stirring spoon.
  13. Brownsburg Athletics says live at 6 pm Saturday at Roark Stadium.
  14. DT doesn't really care. He got people going. That's his motivation.
  15. I know you're here to stir the pot. Wash, rinse, repeat.
  16. #2...nope. Never happened before. The program is so much in trouble that it won the MIC last year and finished in the Final Four. We'll see what happens as the year plays out. First game was not what anyone wanted or expected, but Brownsburg is for real. They looked to be in midseason form. BD was hanging on from the start. #3 CG looks like the 6A juggernaut this year. Brownsburg may very well be #2. #5 You nailed it on Coach Mallory. He's done a stellar job. #6 Good to see Coach Brevard (a BD alum) having success at North Side. He's really been working hard to change that culture. A GREAT human being. #11 Coach O'Shea's doing fine work at NC.
  17. Splat BD was never in this one. Brownsburg looked like it was in midseason form. They played a great game. Pure dismantling. We'll see where BD goes from here. It doesn't get any easier at any time this year for BD, so they'll have to fix this on the fly like they did last year.
  18. I get ads for furnace tuneups.
  19. Indy Star reports Southport and Roncalli has been canceled.
  20. The Giants host the Bulldogs in the MyIndy TV Game of the Week at Giants Stadium. Thoughts?
  21. Marion County Department of Public Health will not be that aggressive even if the state moves to Phase 5.
  22. Not to get political, but they're like the Governor. Push it all on the local folks.
