  1. Results of a revolving door of coaches, that has plagued indiana for years, don’t have the deep pockets at this point to hold onto the good ones. Amplified now by transfer portal.
  2. While this may work, it gets to be a cat and mouse situation then. Now ,as the likeness situation evolves mor and more,it’s the University owes you everything and the player owes the university nothing. Ethical and moral issues aside.
  3. They have several linemen playing on Sunday
  4. What ever it was , it was the opinions of several of the MIC schools. Majority rules
  5. Well ,they could have a Home and Home series, that’s two games already scheduled.
  6. Penciling in a game here and a game there every few years is fairly easy as compared to having to come up with a complete new schedule without a conference affiliation.
  7. Wait a minute,Are you insinuating Indiana University is a party school!????
  8. Yes! But not really.
  9. Me and everybody else knows Allen had this guy,Bell, hired after th 4th game of the season this year. Quick decision but not a hurry up hire. I think he was very well (vetted). While Bells delve into head coaching didn’t go very good, seems like he was on some pretty good staffs at some high profile programs. Maybe a sleeper for Allen to land. Hope so.
  10. I’m not sure Indiana can write off anybody right now. The quick work by Allen, hiring an OC, means the coaches can huddle and get a game plan for the offense. Talent cures a lot of what’s wrong with IU. The weak QB play was compounded by the terrible offense line that they had to deal with this year. So first, linemen are priority, then set up an offense that fits who you have coming next year. Hope the new guy has some offense wrinkles to bring out whatever offensive talent Indiana has left.
  11. And What’s wrong with a mullet anyway?
  12. I’m sure that is the case. Allen couldn’t risk another season in which Penix gets all the practice reps. Secondly, it frees up a valuable scholarship . I will have to defer on the new OC. Not familiar with the man.
  13. So what is the verdict? Best in the southern part of the state?
  14. I think this is true for scholarship availability. Also any senior on a college team gets an additional year. If the coach wants them back there may not be any scholarships to offer high school. Also the darn portals is another reason for limited availability for high school men. This could mean some lesser teams might get some better talent these next few years.
  15. Yea, but I’m not sure why he is choosing to leave? The Indiana coaching staff gave him Carte blanc as far as opportunities to be the starter. Too bad he has to dump on Indiana. Not a good look for Penix.
  16. Also along these same lines, the marginal ,5 star ,kids have a lot more college choices now ,to win a National championship than in the past. Although Alabama is one constant recently. Used to be the same characters ,schools, every year in the hunt for a mythical championship. And ND would get their share based on reputation.
  17. This. The man is driven. National title is what he wants to get. Loyalty is out the door. There is no deception here. He is taking on the pressures of the big show. He knows how to get there. And it ain’t at the has been institution ND. (For football dominance), them days is over for the Irish. Unless there is a scandal involved, I expect him to win one title befor retirement.
  18. Allen has the connections. It’s the money that’s relevant here
  19. Allen knew when he got the job he wasn’t coaching offense. Never was or pretend to. Thus the reason he hired who he did prior to Sheridan. The Sheridan hire was a hire of loyalty, he wanted the job first, secondly we was on staff for both of the previous OC’s. Allen wanted to give the guy a coaching break. Didn’t work obviously.Allen knows the coaching rank and file around the country. It’s if there is enough money to get the P5 assistant. Remember Wilson left Indiana, and within a year doubled his income as an assistant. So as Wilson, before Allen ,lost many top notch Defensive coordinators ,Allen’s Achilles is obvious keeping a good OC. And it may never end for a program like Indiana has.
  20. I can see this. I can also see Allen landing another really good Offense play caller as were the previous two before Sheridan. A good offense keeps your defense off the field. Big problem this year. I’m thinking a few tweaks, involving a good coordinator , and Indiana is in the mix with Rutgers, Illinois Purdue, Minnesota and Michigan State.
  21. This was a given. So what about the strength and conditioning coach? I’m just as concerned with all the injuries as I was with the play calling.
  22. So now the season is over what are the expectations for next year? 9 wins again? Big Ten championship, is what Allen’s statement said. He was setting the team up physically and mentally to win this’ thing. And then the injury bug bit.
  23. And shows how much you know, you had IU winning 6 or 7 games. Lol
  24. You and me both. But wraslin season is upon us You drink the expensive stuff
