Gridiron Digest: Kudos to our Members
Coach Nowlin replied to Coach Nowlin's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
I am sure because its STATE LAW !!!!!!! -
I believe the Players Only meeting was centered around that very topic, RUN THE BALL, and look the last 2 weeks........ CW has stated many times, he prefers up tempo, what he excels at. And that's exactly what the Bears did after the 1st drive and got off to slow start, down 7-0 and got into rhythm with CW by the the hurry up...... I especially love 5 wide empty with Swift out in the Trips side...... with that offense talent, go ahead blitz CW and watch how fast he finds his 1 on 1 and how fast WR can get open for easy yards.

Just don't check to a RUN when his center is UNDER FIRE !!! Agree on DEXTER!!!! Also, we gotta continue to coach em up on the OL and figured out ways to keep them successful this year. Bears will be able to pick 2 of the best players available in the draft, probably around picks 15 to 37. Im hoping for 24 and 33 personally !!! that means PLAYOFFS and Panthers have 1st pick again !!!

Link is worth the click to see the screenshot by screenshot......... "Defensive Minded Coach". um Yea.... about that defensive minded coach...... -
@Muda69 Question, have you changed your stance on sports being a function of Public School offerings? I know we both have been around here for better part of 2 decades, I remember some posts where you advocated for youth sports to stay out of the Public School Domain, citing money allocation etc. I think if that is the model you support then you get these type of HERO DAD COACHES who are not affiliated with schools and do not get held to higher standards.

No argument here: Tremendous games and players all the way around I am sure its on rotation, Field was immaculate Friday for homecoming game: Giant RED R in middle: BLACK BOMBERS in end zone, Black Numbers all with white outlines. Beautiful.

I think anyone who had paid attention knew what was coming for the Boilermakers Sad to see them quit

We have a talented athlete in 4th grade, those coaches are doing a great job with him, he gets about 5 carries a game if he is popping long runs because he has been around sport and is FAST, the rest of the team is developing because they are touching the ball and isn't just toss sweep LEFT/RIGHT to their fastest kid......

I am fortunate enough to referee every Rensselaer Rampage game we host at our field this fall, its been awesome, I will tell you this much: Opposing Coaches, I have had 2 issues where coaches, one was 3rd/4th grade coach and another was 5/6th grade coach.... The way the reacted when they didn't get a call they thought was right was embarrassing.....one guy started literally jumping up and down and spinning yelling NO WAY NO WAY, and guess what, his players that play and the next play when I threw a flag for face masking (a no doubter) his players started yelling and acting the same way. I told DAD COACH, this is your fault, look at how these young kids are now yelling and speaking.....I wonder why that is?? They make a goal line stand and that Same Coach started acting like they just won a major championship, I started barking at him, Congratulations on your BIG TIME GOAL LINE STAND, that WHOLE SEQUENCE you taught you kids how important it is to act like a fool and not worry about important parts of the game. Keep up the good work coach...... Now the other coach, he saw it all go down, he appologized to me, blah blah blah..... Wouldn't you know it said team won 6-0 and in classic form, dumb dumb coach comes to me after the game, I am sorry, blah blah blah, so I calmly said, You are only telling me that because you guys 1. Won, and 2. I made you look like a fool on other occasions tonight based on how you choose to act in front of kids. I told him we are in the KID BUSINESS, not winning like that business and probably needs to reevaluate what his goals as a coach is in 5/6th grade football. Same team came back last week, not a PEEP from him all night long. Now onto the situation in Indy: Adults again FAILED KIDS. What exactly is "competitive talk gone too far" when the kids are 11-U. Garbage, all of that . So no wonder it got real stupid after what sounds like a close game..... As the guy in charge of our games on the field, the SLIGHTEST moment of a player getting out of line, I immediately stop, talk to the kid/coach and tell em if it happens again, yellow coming out and taking a seat. We also reward 1 player from each team a Sportsmanship Medal, I watch and see how all the young kids interact and play the game, and then give the name to press box, where they announce it and I give the medal to visiting team with some good things that I saw that had nothing to do with X/O's and scoreboard. Maybe if places like this league in INDY think of it that way vs looking to earn Highlight love that they think will turn into a scholarship they could avoid such embarrassing and dangerous situations.

sad, my football boilers have made me football sad...... Brohm Corp was entertaining and competitive...... This.....well.....this has been a colossal failure so far -
I went to Camp Randall 1 time, Ben Jones Game Winning FG with Orton at the helm I said when I walked out, if I knew this place was here as a 17/18 year old then I am a Badger !! Assuming the would have took my SR year transcripts of no Math/Science, and a 890 on my SAT in 1998. 🙂

not here to "get" anyone. I have found this conversation fruitful and invigorating. It was better than days of nothing then 4 posts about how great a win or how bad a loss was and then dormant for another week. When I see contradiction in conversation, I will point it out. If your goals in online message boards are to keep a win total on debate then you're going about it all wrong, again, just my opinion.

Monday-Friday Games?
Coach Nowlin replied to Stoner's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Assuming it is all good because from my memory, it's about the quarter rule. Quarter rules start Friday to Thursday. So if games have not been played on Friday or Saturday, then Monday it is. Gives 3 days off before next contest and believe to be ok under these unforeseeable issues weather wise -

All Great People for sure Though Johnny and I would laugh when Kiger, was hurt, IGOE was QB against Sheridan and we joked his 7 INT he threw that game to the Safety at Sheridan made him All State. haha for the record, Sweigart from Sheridan was already a All State caliber player. He let it rip though, it was fun, just tough to do against such a quality team that night. -
So you are now MICHIGAN STATE FANS..... GOT IT @temptation Room getting too HOT for you? Taking ball going home? Thought you were internet tougher than that 😃 DT would not make that post you just did. Since you claim to be his protege or something alike. Just saying
-
Exactly my thought as well. I feel I can at least give an opinion on a coach because I sat in room with him, listened to him speak, then researched some more of him and came away impressed with his program building success, his offensive schemes, and his off season intensity. TEMP reads a quote and formed all these stereotypes...... that's okay too, just will laugh at him for it. Fun laugh, not mean laugh for the record.
