  1. The transitive property has very little bearing. I think with the emergence of Mockobee, Charlie Jones' receiving, and an improving defense all bode well for the Boilers. Nowhere to go but up.
  2. Paul Chryst once played QB for the Badgers, so it was a shock for those of us on the outside. But UW fans, and apparently the administration, has a "demand better" policy. While Leonhard is a great defensive mind, he'll need to bring in quite an OC as they aren't putting up a lot of points. Given that they play mostly West division teams for the rest of the season, I think they'll be decent.
  3. Jeff is an interesting squad. They got destroyed by Cathedral in Week 1, but ran over Michigan City the following week,
  4. After last year's debacle in Columbus, I concur. Then again, Michigan or Penn State could easily win the East as we have a score to settle with PSU while Harbaugh can't whine that the locker rooms aren't air conditioned.
  5. Since I don't want to reply to myself anymore, I'll add a post: winning a league, even it's just a division, creates a buzz for recruits. Just don't blow out a knee or anything else very severe against Ohio State or Michigan!
  6. TC is either hit or miss: they'll have a great season once ever so often, but a lot of the time they are also doom and gloom. I'll take the Spartans in that one, although I think North White will defeat them soundly.
  7. North Newton, completely hapless this year. Being that they're one on the biggest, if not the biggest schools in the new-look Midwest Conference, I was expecting they'd be better.
  8. Indeed. Making the League title game is a major thing no matter how you slice it.
  9. Watched that game in the Minneapolis Airport with a lot of Viking fans. They (rightfully) ribbed Rodgers for throwing passes with :49 seconds remaining in the second half. But I had to remind them they lost to a lesser team than a well-coached New England one on a double-doink.
  10. Shout out to Joe Barry and the defense.
  11. Lowell was up on KV 24-13 at the half. Does the old adage ring true: you can’t go home again? Sidebar: KV head coach Kirk Kennedy resurrected LHS football in the 1990s and 2000s and is still very well-respected in Lowell.
  12. I think CP's offense will be too much for Valpo and their green uniforms. Dogs 35-19
  13. Mike Evans, a WR for Tampa Bay, will not play against the Packers this coming Sunday.
  14. Even Cris Collinsworth gave Quay props, that must count for something...
  15. (Fuller disclosure: Packers fan here {as if you didn't know}). Let's just say he got in, the Bears still would have been 7 points down and would have had to give the ball back to Rodgers who can make drives go on forever. He did just that as they were able to get a FG to put the game out of reach.
  16. We all just need to get along😁
  17. I agree, the first half was epic. The offense got a little sloppy with both the fumble and the bad snap. The goal line stand was monster.
  18. There were some horrendous calls IMO. but Purdue also needs to play within control a lot more.
  19. The Chicago media doesn’t even think the Bears have a prayer, which they don’t.
  20. South Newton 36, Tri-County 0 First Quarter Did my eyes deceive me?
  21. I’m grew up in the Lafayette area. I went to the Crawley Centre (pretty cool, huh?) for a basketball game when I was very young and saw banners of the members in Lafayette Jeff’s Conference: Anderson, Muncie, Richmond among others. Although that might be a long way to go for basketball, it might be worth it, football looks to be a different story. Maybe the NCC should disband or have an East and West division format where the West would play only one or two East schools per year. It would open up better games. I think the West schools should play a Region and Indy area team whereas the East can play a Fort Wayne as well as Indy.
  22. Polls mean very little at this point. Although it was a narrow win for Alabama, it was a road win in a very hostile environment. BTW, their defense only gave up 19 points, not too shabby. Yes, UGA did beat a FCS team by a whopping 33 points, but Purdue also did the same thing...but by 56.
  23. Takes me back to my Freshman days at UK in Lexington. Dunbar, Woodford County (I dated a girl from there), Tates Creek, Scott County, Bryan Station, and East Jessamine are all in the Lexington area. Most of the rest (Owensboro, Hopkinsville) are either in the Western part of the state or Corbin (former roommate--I hate that guy), Pulaski County are from the South and East with some Cincinnati area representation (Covington Catholic, Dixie Heights). My guess is all of the Luh-ville schools are 6A.
  24. I'm still at a loss over all of the pass plays in the late 4th--King Dorue was having a decent game.
