  1. The way I see it, sports are like a poker game: why quit when you're ahead?
  2. "My comeback wasn't about winning or losing; it was about the feeling of being able to compete at top level again." --Thomas Muster If you're afraid of losing, then you daren't win." --Bjorn Bjorg
  3. "You learn more from losing than winning. You learn how to keep going." --Morgan Wootten "Winning is a habit. Unfortunately, so is losing." --Vince Lombardi "Sometimes you win by losing." --Jeremy Jackson "I just hate losing and that gives you an extra determination to work harder." --Wayne Rooney (English soccer Player) "If you ain't first, you're last." "Second place is the first loser." --Ricky Bobby
  4. A few more for you: the Concord Minutemen, Indianapolis Washington Continentals (as both keep the Revolutionary War theme alive. Knox has decided to go the anti-PC route by hanging on to the Redskins moniker, while Goshen became the Redhawks. Additionally, the Lakeland Lakers can be found in the northeast part of the state while Oak Hill's Golden Eagles honor one of the fastest birds in the world. What say you, Winchester Golden Falcons? Purdue Poly is known as the Techies while Union Mills, to my east, are the Satellites. OK, so the list is starting to wane, but there are still some good ones out there that have gone unmentioned. And as opposed to the ever-common Braves, Bulldogs, Cougars, Devils (both Blue and Red), Eagles, Panthers, Spartans, and Warriors--why not something more creative? Personally, I'd go with the Warthogs, maybe the Yeti or Pitbulls.
  5. Let's get in the mindset of kids: the last thing you want to do is take a knee and let up. They train and practice hard which goes against the grain of letting up. I'm not saying throw the deep ball or pound if up the gut, but when these "children" get in, they might not want to go soft. Human nature... I'm gonna talk about nicknames elsewhere now...
  6. If it's not worth winning big, it's not worth winning. Well, maybe not, but once the subs/scrubs/JV/whatever ae put in, maybe they're not interested in running the victory formation.
  7. Bison are always a tough out. I don't know why they're not in FCS....
  8. My brother, we'll call him Goofball, went to Hanover College. I think the pictured stadium is bigger than their field.
  9. yep, just dropped them.
  10. I wish you guys the best, but pasting Twin Lakes should be expected. Although I love matchups from outside the league, take on Tipton, West Lafayette, or even Central Catholic if you want a more accurate measuring stick.
  11. 0-3 wouldn't be that much of a shocker...
  12. South Newton 20, Lake Station 14 so much for contraction in the state's youngest county. Whiting 63, North Newton 0 then again...
  13. To go along with the Blue Jeans, we also have the Mitchell Bluejackets and Tipton Blue Devils. A few more include the Clarksville Generals, Crawford County Wolfpack (or Woofpack of you asked Donnie Baker), and Franklin Central Flashes. I would think North Central's handle of the Thunderbirds would be unique, only to share it with Eastern Greene, who is on their schedule...
  14. Imagine playing here.
  15. That is most unique. I do what I can.
  16. If we did Illinois, we'd get taxed on it! Conversely, I can offer the Adams Central Flying Jets, Forest Park Rangers, Jimtown Jimmies, Mishawka Cavemen, Morton Governors, Perry Central Commodores, Plymouth Pilgrims (or Rockies), Tell City Marksmen, West Washington Senators, and Westfield Shamrocks. Lunch was good--Italian sub...
  17. Forgot about East Gary!!! Had everybody else, though. More to come after lunch (Monical's)...
  18. Attica Red Ramblers, Clinton Prairie Gophers, Columbus East Olympians, Fort Wayne North Legends (so much for modesty), Manchester Squires, Northfield Norsemen, Scecina Crusaders (my aunt's alma mater), Southmont Mounties, and Sullivan Golden Arrows...
  19. My bad, lest we never forget the Shoals Jug Rox although they don't play the sport of Kings...
  20. What's wrong with me?!? They're nearby...
  21. Today's the day: kickoff! We get to see what the Highlanders, Continentals, Oilers, Huskies, and Dragons (among other) bring to the table!
  22. all good, what about the Switzerland Country Pacers, Blackford Bruins, and Clay City Eels?
  23. they are...5A I think
