It's a cool thing to be part of!!! More posts to come🤓 -
The following games good bet bad. How bad? Real bad: John H. Castle--Evansville Central (take that, Vanderburgh County) East Central--Greensburg (will this season ever end?) East Noble--New Haven Hanover Central--Andrean (HC has stunned the NWHC) Heritage Hills (repeat performance?) --Princeton Logansport--Western (been down this road) North Decatur--Edinburgh North Judson (can't wait to face South Newton) --Caston Paoli--Mitchell (at least there's pretty foliage to look at on the bus ride) Rochester--Southwood

No, the student section always files in late. By the start of "Jump Around" after the third quarter, it was packed. Madison is highly recommended! Many great bars and restaurants.

Two muffed punts in a row. Purdue got the first one back, but not the second one which of course was run in for a touchdown on Wisconsin’s first play from scrimmage. It basically set the tone for the day in addition to consuming many Capitol City Ambers. Lucky’s 1313 Brew Pub also had many good craft beers.

I had no idea I was so prophetic. Boilers outclassed in every phase… …at least I had some good beer! Fabulous stadium…and they do have turf!!!

I'll be heading to Camp Randall Stadium to see Purdue take on the Feral Rodents. Purdue, as we all know, is having a very dismal season but UW isn't exactly lighting the league on fire. Purdue's defense looked great for three quarters against Nebraska...then reality set in (along with a multitude of penalties). Wisconsin managed to blow a huge halftime lead against USC in the Colosseum. If Purdue can hold UW's run game to under 250 yards and if the offense shows any signs of life, Bucky will prevail 24-10. If not, 48-7. Good thing I have a hotel because beer is now served at the stadium.

In addition to turf, we need domed stadiums!!! Or maybe just throw some carpet down in the gym and play a 50 yard indoor war… -
May the best team win!

Although I normally showcase ineptitude, the following games have the potential to be leg-en--wait for it--dary: Batesville-Lawrenceburg--the Bulldogs will most likely have to build a casket for the Bulldogs. Crown Point-Valparaiso--can anything stop Coach Buzz? Gibson Southern-Heritage Hills--I'm going with the Titans and Jay Cutler won't be under center for HH. Northwestern-Maconaquah--although MHS are the Braves, I like the Tigers in this one Triton-North Judson--the Blue Jays get caught napping to the Trojans and already focused on their Sectional final with South Newton is in a few weeks. Westfield-Brownsburg--the Rocks will roll.

With all this talk of new conferences, here are some name ideas: Big 12--yeah, I know, done once with the 812's Big 8, how did that end? Catholic League--borrowed from our good friends the FIPS... City Speed League--applicable to our metro areas only... Hoosier Prairie Conference--two things we have a lot of Indiana Flyaway Conference--borrowed from our good friends who originated the term FIPs... Little 8/10/12 Conference--for our beloved 1A members... Sycamore League--recognizing Indiana's heritage should not be ignored The Valley--if the Missouri Valley conference in the NCAA can do it, so can we! Just pick any valley and go with it... Tomahawk League--see Sycamore League (also insert Rust Belt or any past topic).
-
Although new conference are a good thing in my far from humble opinion, there are many traditionalists in the fine state of ours that would disagree. Good for them. But do they see the big picture? Logistics and (to borrow from @DT's vernacular) competitive balance are essential. Some leagues have, while others don't.

Odd.

The following could get real U-G-L-Y: they ain't got no alibi: Bluffton-Southern Wells (see I look at teams not in my area) North Posey-Tecumseh (not the camp in Brookston) Lawrence North-Ben Davis--might irk some West Siders, but the Giants are experiencing a rebuild Griffith-East Chicago Central--more than a case of the haves vs. the have nots.... Columbus North-Terre Haite North--funky architecture meets the baking powder maker of the world Penn-South Bend Adams--are there any good sales at the UP Mall? HEAD SCRATCHER OF THE WEEK Lafayette Jeff-Richmond--I don't see why the NCC is still in operation.....

Is there hope for Attica?

This has not been a particularly good week for former players from the Black & Blue division. Not only has Brett Favre announced that he has Parkinson's Disease, but Tommy Kramer of the Vikings has also just announced he has Demetia. I also understand Jim McMahon isn't his best self.
