  1. I'm with you! I've never been a fan of polls, computer algorithms, Sagarin Ratings, the Farmers Almanac, Hammurabi Code, or the Ouija Board as they never take field/weather conditions, player injuries, questionable officiating, and player will into account.
  2. Indeed he did--Purdue is no joke. My son, Gipper, Jr., is a sophomore there and is killing it but realizes how tough it is.
  3. Call me a homer, but not late for dinner, but I like Lowell's Riley Bank.
  4. Then again I did discover new bars and restaurants in Madtown. Great stadium, good fans, but the city itself is much bigger than West Lafayette or Bloomington and the set-up of the campus is a little different. But overall it was a good time.
  5. I was at the game. Wisconsin punched it in early, no big deal. Then Purdue got the ball, on the third play: pick 6. That basically set the tone for the day... I'm still hungover.
  6. I'll be there on Saturday (among UW fans, then again ticket prices have plummeted)--always a great environment.
  7. He has been a lot of fun to watch. Saturday's game will be something else.
  8. Nelson Agholor, Julio Jones, and JuJu Smith-Schuster are all free agents in 2023...
  9. Like you, I held out hope for Amari for as long as I could, but it's looking more and more like he's a kick returner only. Aaron needs a legitimate deep ball threat, and since OBJ scares me (financially and mentally), Claypool could be the guy. Side note, going to Toby's Supper Club in Madison soon--I'll let you know how it goes.
  10. I heard a trade rumor: Chase Claypool for Amari Rodgers--thoughts? I'm not giving up on this season.
  11. Although the passing game looks to be in good hands, I like the emergence of the running backs, most notably Mockobee and Downing.
  12. Not to offend, but I heard Riverdale has been called the worst town in Illinois. I work with a lot of south-siders, they're good people, I feel bad for them.
  13. Absolutely. Brohm looks to be recruiting both Indianapolis (David Bell) and the state of Kentucky (Rondale Moore) as well as Ohio and the South.
  14. Football weather has finally arrived in the 219! Cooler temperatures and scattered rain creates a sloppy track for those schools not "blessed" with turf fields--good luck to all!!!
  15. FWIW, Mike Alstott is from Joliet, 30 miles to the south. But Purdue does get their fare share of players as Aidan O'Connell and Charlie Jones are both from the North Shore.
  16. I drive in that area daily, not always the safest place to be.
  17. For years, most B1G have been had a big recruiting presence in the Chicago area: Mike Alstott went to Purdue, Antwaan Randle-El went to IU, Chuck Long went to Iowa among many others.
  18. The transitive property has very little bearing. I think with the emergence of Mockobee, Charlie Jones' receiving, and an improving defense all bode well for the Boilers. Nowhere to go but up.
  19. Paul Chryst once played QB for the Badgers, so it was a shock for those of us on the outside. But UW fans, and apparently the administration, has a "demand better" policy. While Leonhard is a great defensive mind, he'll need to bring in quite an OC as they aren't putting up a lot of points. Given that they play mostly West division teams for the rest of the season, I think they'll be decent.
