It bothers me how quiet the officiating community has been in response to this play.

I don't know exactly what this is in reference to - but RIP ol Coach - he was one of a kind.

Has Brownstown finally made the switch to road whites??? I’ll never forget (although I do forget the year…maybe 2004?) when they came strolling into town for a Regional and had Red jerseys on. Lol…the officials were flummoxed to say the least. I don’t remember exactly what the solution was- but believe the rule was made the following year that visitors must be in white lol Best of luck to Coach May and the Braves!! If anyone deserves it- it is Coach May

Teams can nominate an unlimited number of players and there is no set number for X amount.

I agree- I wasn’t exactly sure what the rule stated (why I started the thread asking for clarification)- but am a little disappointed it hasn’t been further explained/or just admitted- “yup, we blew that one in a BIG WAY in a BIG GAME.” We’re human, it can happen…but feels a bit like a “cover for your own” type of deal in the responses.

I could be wrong- but I don’t remember him wrestling last season? And word on the street is he’s graduating early to be a participate in spring practices….dont know if the injury will change that timeline

As I watched it- it seemed to violate the rules- why I asked.

So just so I understand - ball is marked ready for play (which happens very quickly now with the 40 second play clock)...team is "no huddle" tempo, so players are running on/off...Player A is inside numbers....coaches are yelling "Timmy get out, Timmy OUT"....so Timmy runs to sideline- ball snapped, TD. You're explaining to me that is NOT deception and/or illegal??

Watching highlights online- did anyone see the South Adams TD pass vs North Miami somewhere in the 3rd quarter (I believe ?)? Looked like a “hidden player” type deal where the player was “talking” with a Coach on the sideline- then when the ball was snapped took off down the sideline. Is there anything in the rule book addressing this situation?? Sorry for not providing a clip, I’m not that tech savvy.

Oh boy ! We all know, you gotta come ready to rumble when you travel down by the river. That said- if no punches were actually exchanged (and again - I have NO CLUE as no one will say anything) - then seems a bit harsh to sit the DC for the biggest game in school history?? Is this a Cascade Administration decision - or did it come from the IHSAA brass?

Since everyone is scared of "the man" - I'll just make up my own scenario: Hotly contested bout between L-Burg and Cascade - at the PIT no less.... Cascade escapes, and approaches the post-game handshake line. HC's are leading the way as normal, when out of nowhere the Stink-Town-Clown appears on the field! He is clearly not happy with the result and it looking to take out his frustration on the Cascade HC, but in an act of valor, the DC jumps in and takes down the Clown!! The Clown's posse (ala UFC style) quickly joins in and we have a full blown melee on our hands!!

Lower enrollment numbers typically corresponds with a business in town either closing/leaving. (In your case- a local college). Lower enrollment (for a public school at least) also means less State funding, so has there also been staff cuts at your school?? That would be the hard/sad reality of that situation I would imagine.

OK so seriously - what on earth is going on with the DC situation??

What's fascinating to me is how a school goes from an enrollment count of 571 in 2016, to 9 years later being in the 460 range?? School enrollments most certainly can drop, but you typically don't see that large of a drop in that time span (especially at a successful school like Brownstown) without other mitigating factors??

One thing that gets often overlooked at this point is just the uniqueness of Brownstown's offense (and the level at which they can run it). There is absolutely NO WAY to replicate it in practice, and generally takes AT LEAST a few series to get your barring's about you on defense...and by that time, it could be 14-0, maybe 21-0. Give me the Braves and Coach May finally gets his trip to the State Finals.

Ahh come on- you wouldn’t want to win that way! But- definitely adds intrigue ?? What the heck went down?? Only game in town on Saturday…should be a BIG CROWD

Ok so from what I’ve gathered so far 1A - ?? 2A- Andrean/AC- grass….What about Lapel/Btwon? Lapel have turf or grass?? 3A- Cascade has turf…Luers grass 4A- Roncalli turf…

The Luers-Knox thread got me thinking of this. First of all- can we get a rundown of semi-state games coming up and the location/surface it will be played on?? (Turf or grass) Secondly- with the forecasted weather this week- we’ve got some potential for some “mud/slop”…I’ve beat this drum for some time now- but, at the semi-state level- should the IHSAA step in and make sure these games aren’t played on less than adequate fields?? Lastly- we all know the examples- but maybe a few can share where field conditions most certainly “leveled” the playing field and allowed a lesser talented team to pull an upset?? The first that comes to my mind is undefeated Eville Central losing to Jasper in just a complete slop. Don’t remember the year.

I was JUST getting ready to ask about field conditions??? Please tell me this game is being played on turf?? It’s a shame if not- a championship level game shouldn’t be played in the slop

Can someone on here give us Southern folk a rundown on Cascade?? From what I’ve seen on Max Preps- they are an under-center old school Wing-T team?? Very effective- love me some Wing T- BUT- I’m telling you- if you think you’re just gonna line up and run downhill on the Titans- good luck.
