Neighbors to the West, Unhappy
jets replied to Coach Nowlin's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
At least the Illinois State Association has the ______ to do something about it. (Multiplier) -
Welp…there goes the dream

Probably a little late in the week to be asking this, but for those of us not very well versed with different parts of the State, what flavor of offense will we be watching tomorrow/Saturday? 1A: North Judson - Wing T base...Providence - Shotgun Wing T/Multiple? 2A: Adams Central - Wing T ....Linton - Shotgun Wing T 3A: Luers ? I assume Pro-Style Shotgun .....HH - Multiple Spread 4A: East Noble ? ....New Pal Pro Style Shotgun 5A: Warsaw - Triple Option ....Decatur Central - no idea? 6A: Both Pro Style Spread Lot's of different ways to skin a cat as they say ...

P/P have to have "some" sort of advantage, or they wouldn't be constantly winning State Championships - SO- LET'S GET BACK ON TOPIC if we can ...is THIS the year they (P/P's) don't capture a State Championship??? (Hasn't happened since 2005) AND - if it does happen - is that proof that the SF is in fact working??
-
So it hasn’t been done since 2005?? Is this the year?!? Success Factor at its finest
-
I don’t remember saying “easily”- but yes, I will own that one. That said- this HH squad is miles above where NP was last year. They’ve experienced Chatard last year…played a Powerhouse from Louisville as well this year. If Luers wins I’ll concede to the wonders of the SAC conference- I just don’t see it happening.
-
Although the PAC has not fared very well against Luers in the past (we dropped a close one in 02…36-30…and NP last year in a blow-out)- this HH team is up there with the best PAC teams I can remember. Oddly enough- what I consider the BEST PAC teams I have seen personally both dropped games to Chatard in semi-state. The 02 Patriots lost in a turnover fest (still the best team for my money), and the Gibson team that lost in a snow game- don’t remember the year. (2021 GS doesn’t count- not allowed to build a “super-team” of transfers and get to be considered on the list as best all-time- just my opinion) All that said- this HH team is up there and I believe takes care of business and wins rather handily)

Is this the year?!? I’m sure it has happened before, I’m just not tech savvy enough to be able look up when the last time it happened was.

Tough feat to accomplish, that's for sure. Got to take advantage when you have these "special" classes come together. We almost pulled in off in the 2017 (State Champs) and 2018 (semi-State) seasons, but WeBo took care of that. Then - the success factor up to 3A, enough points to stay up thanks to a semi-state birth again in 2020 and sectional champ in 2022 and now enrollment growth puts us in the 3A sectional of death. Point being - take advantage of such factors (special class, No Chatard, 3 straight home games!) - best of luck Pats.
-
Sure - but what about field conditions on the natural surfaces???
-
down here in the hills of Southern Indiana - we're not predicted to get any precipitation - but sounds like most of Indiana is likely to get some?? I am never a fan of field conditions being a factor this late in the post-season - but it is what it is. Any northern semi-state teams still playing on grass tomorrow?? (All games are on Friday, correct?)
-
HEY - happy to see MINER PRIDE back on the forum! And happy for the Linton folks to be back to post-season runs ...I know for awhile, 2A wasn't treating them too kindly - amazing what a good sectional alignment can/will do for a program. Best of luck to the Miners.

Still curious as to this statement? -
Congrats to him and the program Right - I was curious as to if any more "details" of the matter had emerged. I take it from that news release, neither side was much interested in putting that information out there. Moving on...

Semi State 3a Luers vs. Garrett
jets replied to MikeTyson15's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Luers is the only 3A school remaining playing that I haven't seen LIVE or on film. Garrett has a nice squad, as all teams remaining do - but none are on the level of the Patriots. Upsets happen all the time (injuries, turnovers, just weird things) - BUT - if the Pats play their game from here on out, it is theirs to lose. -
Just following up ....whatever (if anything) happened with this situation??

Explanation?? -
Always has baffled me that the Santa Claus/Dale area doesn't have more good food options. I mean, especially with Holiday World, you figure the local area would be crawling with eating establishments?? That said, I know many of people from Spencer County that travel into DuCo to get something to eat. Granted, I'm not real versed in the options over there....they would be: Jenks - Chateau - (is the LA Cantina) still open? - Brick Oven? Anything else?

Sharpe Out At Noblesville
jets replied to Boilernation's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Don't want to get on here and engage in a back-and-forth. Not sure what that would accomplish and you've made your feelings pretty apparent in regards to Coach and his scheme. I will just push back and point out that "scheme" has won PLENTY of State Championships at the HS LEVEL. And As many have pointed out, YOUTH football shouldn't be all about trophies. I may not be correct, but I think our current senior class only won something like 1 game at the MS levels, but just finished a pretty successful 8-3 season with our only 3 losses being to the #1, #2, and #3 ranked school in our class. You most certainly can have your personal opinions on the offensive philosophy (as you stated...it wasn't an "unpopular philosophy, it was a BAD philosophy" ) Being a head coach, I would imagine that would be difficult feelings to have in the youth organization and trying to build up a program. BTW, I don't know that much about Noblesville - but didn't they have some DI lineman come through the ranks during Sharpe's tenure. I'm not real smart, but this scheme would seem pretty well suited for good offensive lineman, no?? Appreciate your transparency on the situation - just don't agree with it. Moving on... -
Hypothetical Neutral Site Semi-States

Haha....you really have to ask this?? -
Haven’t seen Batesville play this year- but from reading threads, seems they may not be as good as last year?? If that’s the case (and even IF they were)- buckle up- cause this HH squad is LOADED. I’m old and it has been MANY years- but I seem to remember the early 2000s Batesville squads running the ol Spinner single wing?? Am I remembering that correctly?? Those teams were tough and physical- but you weren’t beating the Patriots in those days.
