  1. LOL, I'm just digging for some info..... What is the style of play there, who are the teams to beat, what teams have players, but perhaps under performed.
  2. I don't know much about this conference. What can you all tell me about it? Just fishing for information....
  3. Have you ever watched a game film of the HCC... The line play is extremely good, and except for this past year, the defenses in the conference are very good. How can you say the HCC is soft... you can't stop those ground games with soft players......
  4. You are alone on that my friend........ February football in Indiana is gonna be brutal. I know Ft. Wayne right now is covered in snow and its brutally cold all over. Not exactly condusive to prime practice situations. As a fan, I am prepared for the elements, but i'm guessing attendance will be lower and I'll miss the atmosphere of a beautiful fall day. I know for a fact St. Francis has practiced outside in the elements quite a bit. I think through this brutal cold stretch they are practicing in a dome somewhere in Ft. Wayne.
  5. I believe Marian is playing this Saturday and home and then has a bye week..... Its gonna be freezing!! Good Luck Knights!
  6. I would bet you, that Marian and St. Francis in most years would beat UIndy and Butler and compete with ISU. SO Yes in your thinking of their classification, you are right, but in terms of talent.... I disagree.
  7. Everyone has a connection or knows someone regardless of conference blood oaths. The other thing now is, that many of the games are on youtube or other streaming... Just trade the film........
  8. Really? Rarely do we get a team who will not share endzone film... its a fair trade, why would you not trade that?
  9. I'm sure you just meant a higher division when you said a step up....
  10. I know for sure, Families will get in. But you are right about the county by county thing. I would suggest calling the athletic departments at your chosend school and enquiring. I am sure Marian will have tougher standards then others, because Marion County is more restricted then others right now. I think St. Francis will be more open then some of the others.
  11. Coach D pushed to get the class and hired Vanderbush.
  12. I have had the great fortune of coaching against and working for Coach "D" at his Camps. The man is a wealth of knowledge and is a great motivator. He also has a great knack for handling personalities and making them all work together. He is a true leader. Coach "D" was also the first guy to have in school weight classes. It was because of him, that everybody else started getting them. He also started using Camps to improve his players in an era when summers were not open. Anyone who does not think Coach "D" would have not been successful wherever he coached just doesn't understand what he has done for the game in our state. The man is a legend and arguably the the catalyst behind the improvement of football in the whole state.
  13. If any of you are needing a football fix in the near future, the State's NAIA programs begin their season in a couple of weeks. Look for St. Francis, Marian, Taylor and IWU on the Grid Iron soon. It's gonna be cold, but these athletes and coaches have been working hard to prepare!! If you get a chance, go out and support them! If youhave never been to see these teams, I think you will be surprised at the High QUality of play. St. Francis and Marian are pernnial national powers at this level and the rosters are full of Indiana kids!! Put on your long underwear and head to one of these stadiums!
  14. You might as well submit it all. If you don't give it to us, someone else will. We should share all film. IF you don't share it all, there are ways to get it all. Someone always owes someone else a favor or has a connection. I don't think we had any less then 6 films of any opponent we played in the playoffs. Share it all, Endzone and sideline. May the team that prepares the best win!!!
  15. A big shout out needs to go to Coach Turnquist of Zionsville. He is a very bright offensive mind. The job he did in the playoffs was phenominal. Zionsville returns most of its offensive starters for next year. It could potentially be a very interesting year for the Eagles. Coach TQ has had the Eagles over achieving the last two years in the playoffs. Last year they upset Brownsburg in 6a. This year, he turned the Eagles into the 2nd best team in 5a. Sorry Dwenger..... it's just a fact. There is a huge adantage to playing a 6a schedule all year and then dropping to 5a in th playoffs. Westfield took advantage of that for years and Zionsville did this year. Congrats to Coach TQ and the Eagles for a strong finish in 2020.
  16. This was a good small clinic if you like o-line play. Hope to see more of you there next year.
  17. I am biased , but I think Westfield...... When the Largest High School Jumbo- tron in the midwest is blasting and the stands are rocking, no better place! https://vimeo.com/133613656 Video tour.
  18. Add Eli Patchett of Westfield to that list as well.
  19. All I hear on this profile today is how our kids are getting softer and don't work as hard as they used to. Now a few of you are criticizing a kid who wants to take a chance to live out a dream? How many times have your heard guys sitting around talking football and somebody always says, I wish I would have tried to play at Big School U? What is wrong with taking a chance on yourself and trying to pursue a dream? As a coach and Father , it is part of my job to get my players and kids to go outside of their comfort zone. The only way we improve in any endeavor is to leave our comfort zones. Some of these kids have been big fish in small ponds their whole lives and have no idea of what they are capable of. I applaud the kids who take a chance. Live life with your hair on fire, take some chances. If you get there and it doesn't work out, I am sure the small college guys will take a second look at you. There is something to be said for these kids that go with no guarantees of anything, but a roster spot and are willing to work there butts off. I'd hire that guy any day. My son is actually one of those guys who turned down a very good offer to be a walk on at IU. That has been his dream forever. Chase it with all your heart Young man!!! He understands all the negatives and we discussed it thoroughly . He chose to take a chance. I am impressed and proud that he chose to take a chance and test his metal. At the end of the day, regardless of whether he plays 1 play or a thousand plays, it is the process and the willingness to put in the work that will benefit him in the real world. We all have our opinions on how good a kid is and where they can play, but the world is full of guys people were wrong about. I for one think we all could learn to take a few more chances , to say what the hell, to believe in ourselves and just go for it! BTW: Tom and his staff as I am sure Purdue does too, evaluate film and only bring in guys they think might have a chance.
  20. No Dust in the HCC all Turf Fields.... LOL Perhaps 3 yards and a cloud of rubber pellets.
  21. Nobody but the Athletic administration at Noblesville will know everyone that applied. Perhaps you could call them and ask. Why is it snowflake to protect guys from undo questions and perhaps causing problems at their current jobs. I am sure, you would not like that in your world. I would suggest it is an honorable thing to protect these guys from scrutiny simply because they applied. Once they get the job, have at it.
  22. If the schools told everyone who had applied, how would you suggest the coaching fraternity be more discreet? That makes no sense.
