You're so far removed from reality it's insulting. -

Who are the top 10 programs
BTF replied to Trojanmp52's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
You're selling the Kingsman short. A "program", however you define it, is consistently good over a period of time. In my opinion, that period of time is three decades. I was going to eliminate some teams by adding regional and semi-state champions, but only ten teams popped up after the first round of research. What exactly is your criteria? Westfield over Carmel? That's a head scratcher for sure. -
DAC previews & predictions
BTF replied to DACNUT88's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Valpo is 3-2 vs Snider and 1-0 vs Dwenger. Snider is 2-0 vs Merrillville. The DAC only holds an edge over the SAC in head to head matchups, which are very few and far between. They don't hold any kind of edge over the SAC as a whole. -

Fort Wayne has been "no match" for the DAC? Care to elaborate further on that comment? -
Who are the top 10 programs
BTF replied to Trojanmp52's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
These ten programs have sustained a high level of success spanning three decades. They are the only ones who have at least five sectional titles in each of the past three decades: Ben Davis, Carmel, Eastbrook, Mater Dei, Dwenger, Luers, Snider, Cathedral, Chatard, and Penn. -
Who are the top 10 programs
BTF replied to Trojanmp52's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Back on topic. Being that it was started from someone from Center Grove, let's start there. I'd like to see how Center Grove sustains itself after Eric Moore leaves. Center Grove has only ever been about one coach. A good program succeeds from one coach to the next. That being said, Moore has been there two decades now, and the level of play he has the Trojans playing at definitely puts them into the conversation. It's kind of a shame that these conversations always center around the schools with the most resources. It's not really a fair fight. Teams at the lower levels rarely are given credit as Top 10 programs. -

That's debatable. You see more Ohio State shirts than any other college. There are a lot of Ohio transplants in FW being just 15 minutes away. -

I've got Center Grove coming in at #6. -
North Side's Tae Tae Johnson to Notre Dame

Depends how you look at it. I like a 1.75 multiplier for the Catholic schools. -
North Side's Tae Tae Johnson to Notre Dame

North just happens to be in the small school division. Luck of the draw I guess. In fact, they were just a few students away from qualifying for 4A. -
Preseason top 10 for each class

Love the hype. I hope they do well. It gives the north another program to take seriously. I love the direction Jeff and Carroll are going in. Now add Crown Point. -
Preseason top 10 for each class

Center Grove vs St. Edward is a great matchup for sure. But I was referring to games that will give some clarity to the strength of teams up north. -
No valid source for my claim. It was stated by another poster that they had heavy losses.

Preseason top 10 for each class
BTF replied to Rocket's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Doug Dinan returns his quarterback from last year. Now a junior, he's already receiving offers from the MAC. Dinan will always have very good offenses, and having a really good QB should make them really lethal. His weakness has always been defense, but appears to have that corrected. Carroll's community continues to grow and they have some of the best facilities in the state...........the kind that kids and families gravitate toward. They proved themselves in a recent 7 on 7, now it's just a matter of how good they are in the trenches. They'll find out fast with HSE and Warren Central in Weeks 1 & 2. How good was Carroll in 2022? They had Snider down 28-14 at one point and North Side 28-7 and beat HSE 21-15..............that's the good. The bad? They barely somehow escaped Jeff (not that that's bad). HSE had a snow storm blowing directly into their sideline. Was that a factor? They were waxed by CG. Would CG have done that to anyone? Conclusion? They made it to state in 6A, they're pretty good. -
Preseason top 10 for each class

There seems to be lot's of hype surrounding Brownsburg and what they return this year. Warren has a good coach, I like the possibilities in his third year at the helm. Ben Davis...........hype. Carroll...........hype. The rest mostly traditionally strong programs. Like I said, a shot in the dark. Why Lawrence Central? -
Preseason top 10 for each class
BTF replied to Rocket's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Looks like the usual suspects. Hard to argue, but I'd switch it around a bit: 1. Center Grove 2. Brownsburg 3. Cathedral 4. Ben Davis 5. Warren Central 6. Carmel 7. HSE 8. Carroll 9. Westfield 10. Fishers There's some method to my madness here, but more of a shot in the dark. -
Preseason top 10 for each class

Not bad for his second year though. I'm bullish. Crown Point hadn't seen double digits in the win column for 17 years. If there's a program up north, other than Carroll, capable of cracking the overall Top 10, maybe it's these guys. -
Preseason top 10 for each class
BTF replied to Rocket's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Hmmmmm, let's see: 1. Third year coach with a winning track record 2. 10-1 last season 3. D1 WR & QB transfers I would say they have to be in the conversation. Layfayette Jeff seems to be on the cusp of breaking through. Carroll's 7 on 7 team looked outstanding this summer (hardly football though.) You never know with Penn. The Kingsmen aren't the machine they used to be, but they are a large enough school to have a run on talent every so often to contend for the title. So those are the only four programs who realistically have a shot at taking out HSE/Fishers. I'm leaving Homestead out of the conversation for now. We'll have answers in Week 1: Jeff travels to Cathedral. Carroll travels to HSE. Penn travels to Valpo. Homestead hosts Carmel. -
Finally a win for Notre Dame. It was written elsewhere that when the Irish recruit a kid in Indiana, it's a virtual lock that they'll get the commitment. I'm pretty sure that's false. To my knowledge, they were 0 for their last 4 with Fort Wayne kids. Mylan Graham (2024) chose Ohio State. Mack Hippenhammer (2017) to Penn State. Austin Mack (2016) to Ohio State. Auston Robertson (2016) to Michigan State. Before that, they landed Tyler Eifert and Jaylon Smith. Good luck to Tae Tae. Looking forward to seeing him in South Bend.

They beat Snider, who took Carroll to the wire. Granted, Snider was rendered one dimensional playing in a snow storm. Maybe I'm giving the Vikings too much credit. We'll find out.
-
Dwenger proved in 2021 that you have to be ready for them no matter what kind of year they're having. North Side proved last year that there's a new kid on the block. 5A north is strong at the top with six dangerous teams.
-
Either that or a semi-state matchup of Merrillville vs North Side. Then you have Mishawaka and Dwenger, neither of whom will take lightly being left out of the conversation. It'll be fun to see how 2023 goes down.
-
In all fairness, Snider did hold them to 14 points in regulation.
