  1. It wasn’t slanted immediately downfield. At some point you’re going to have to give CG credit. Jackson completed some big 3rd downs along the way and was composed as he faced immense pressure.
  2. Which even further reinforces the decision to go for it. Win the game here and if not fall back on your defense that had been playing lights out all night. You’re not going to get any Cathedral fan to turn on Peebles decision to go for it. It was the right call.
  3. They had a mammoth RT but man for man weren’t anywhere near as big as Cathedral. I was there.
  4. Hindsight as they say is always undefeated. Disappointed with the loss but would have been more ticked if Cathedral didn’t even attempt to win the game on 4th and inches.
  5. Cathedral’s offensive line man for man is bigger than CG’s offensive line and Cathedral’s RB on that last drive was taking over the game. Go under center, have your QB fall forward (with your 200 lb RB pushing the pile from behind) and the game is over. The play call was atrocious but it doesn’t negate the fact that it was the right decision to try and win the game right there.
  6. That’s assuming he gets off a clean punt that travels 40 yards in the air. Cathedral had a 10 yard net punt earlier in the game from the same part of the field kicking into the same wind. It’s 4th and 1, you’re on the road, get a yard and the game is over. You go for it every time there. Just wasn’t the right play call.
  7. You get the first down, the game is effectively over. You’re giving the ball back by punting. Cathedral was kicking into a pretty good wind with a punter who had already shanked a few earlier. I think it’s a 20-25 yard difference punting there. I don’t mind the decision to go for it and win the game, right there on the road. Play to win. That being said, the play call was awful.
  8. Right decision to go for it, terrible play call. You don’t run jet sweep on 4th and less than a yard.
  9. What a game! And what a choke. Sneak the ball. Congrats Center Grove.
  10. Center Grove winning this game wouldn't come as a surprise but holding Cathedral to 7 points would mean this CG defense is as good as advertised and then some. Only team this year that's been able to stop Cathedral's offense is Cathedral themselves. Cathedral's protected the football extremely well this year but has had multiple games with 10+ penalties and 100+ yards. That can't happen tonight. Conversely, CG has only won this matchup by more than 7 points one time and that was likely one of Cathedral's "worst teams" in almost 20 years. Expect a hard-hitting, close game where the game is decided late by a single score.
  11. Any predictions? Most quiet on that fright. Looks to be a chilly but clear night for football. I like Cathedral 28-24
  12. Not a fan of regional neutral sites but love the idea for semi-state. I think Saturday afternoon/night double headers would draw a great crowd and atmosphere.
  13. Aristocrat is still there. Lived at 49th and College for some time out of college and that was always a good walking spot for me. Plump's Last Shot (not sure if it's still around) owned by Bobby Plump had a joint in Broad Ripple that also had a pretty good tenderloin. Since the closure of Nickel Plate, Dooley O'Toole's in Carmel probably serves my favorite current tenderloin.
  14. Mayo/Pickle/Lettuce for breaded. Only way to do it
  15. Nickel Plate in Fishers was by far and away my favorite, which sadly has closed in the last year. Nickel Plate was owned by the Lux Group who also owns Binkley's in Broad Ripple and tenderloin there is nearly one in the same.
  16. The hero we need need but don't deserve
  17. Spare me that DT is the victim in all this
  18. Nothing wrong with disagreement. But DT chose to take his ball and go home. Not any of our faults he can't handle it.
  19. Imagine being this thin-skinned...
  20. I'm not aware of any conferences that have more than 10 members so in our current 9 week format, means you at least get to play everyone in your conference without any non-conference games (SAC is the one conference that comes to mind and I'm sure there are more). Have always been a proponent of adding a tenth regular season game and then eliminating half the field at the conclusion of the regular season. That allows you to start and end the season on the same dates under the current. Adding a tenth regular season game would allow every school to schedule at least one non-conference game and in some cases 3-4 for the smaller conferences. Also a proponent of a series of "bowl games" to be held during the week of the first round of the sectionals for teams that didn't qualify. In my qualifier you're guaranteed at least 10 games (same number as the current all-in format) with the option to play an 11th.
  21. Has a little more Pete Gillen in him if you ask me
  22. A lot more issues than just being heavy and lazy, including a ton of injuries. But that's for another time.
  23. There's a lot of truth to what you say, but in the event it takes 1-2 seniors to field a JV team I guess I don't have a problem with it. Then again I don't know what senior would want to actually play JV but there isn't a rule prohibiting it.
  24. Probably one of the few times I'll agree with DT although probably wouldn't be as brazen about it. I guess it probably does all depend on the size of the school though. Like others have said, I view freshman/JV teams as purely developmental and a senior taking away valuable playing time from an underclassman undermines the purpose. Do understand the point of view though where if a senior or two plays than it actually allows for a JV team to be fielded and that I can get behind.
  25. Pretty sure Brownsburg-Avon played each other a few years back when Brandon Peters and Hunter Johnson were still around on ESPN. Not sure if either was nationally ranked but it was definitely profiling two high end recruits.
