  1. I've followed the B1G for 50+ years and have NEVER heard them called , what was it? "The SEC of the Midwest"? You sure you just didn't make that up in your mind like your accusations against OSU and Young? But I'm sure you have proof of that too just like you have proof this was all scripted and you have proof that Young committed some violation. I'm waiting for your proof. No, I won't wait because you have no proof or otherwise you would have posted it instead of your opinions. Anything else you want to theorize about? You'll wait a long time before I get back to you about any scandals. So because of a couple of past mistakes, EVERYONE is guilty now no matter what? Guilty until proven innocent eh? I thought in this country it was innocent until proven guilty?
  2. I didn't ask for your help and YOU are the one who thinks there is more to this. Here's a newsflash for you: not everything is a conspiracy. By your comments apparently you feel this is some type of cover up. I totally agree there are rules, but which one(s) did he break? You keep saying he committed a violation. I won't ask you a third time which violation he committed. The NCAA says he committed none. Where is your proof this was all scripted? You are talking nonsense that you have convinced yourself of and want others to believe you. Show me proof and then we'll talk. '
  3. Again I ask: what was the violation? You can make fun of this all day long but it won't change the outcome. It was reported as a possible violation. The NCAA found none. He's reinstated. So even though he's found "innocent" you STILL want him found guilty of something? Glad you aren't an elected official in this country. What I have not heard is, who was the "whistleblower" in the first place?
  4. Freshman year in college, freshman year in high school. Does it really matter?. The NCAA investigated and found the person to just be a family friend. He didn't meet the person because he played football. He borrowed $800 which he repaid. It wasn't a gift. I see it as doing nothing wrong. People borrow money all of the time from friends or family. No smoking gun was found. He's being suspended for 2 games and what was the violation to warrant any suspension at all? If it had been a "gift" or from an alumni or booster, I get that. But from everything I've read, he really didn't commit any violation(s).
  5. The investigation found he did nothing wrong other than maybe not report it sooner. So he shouldn't have sat out ANY games IMO since they found no violation. It wasn't a gift, it wasn't from an alumni or a booster. The player and the university fully cooperated. Ohio State sat him out voluntarily last week. So the NCAA said that game counts. Picking and choosing which game(s) a player will sit out isn't how it works. But as they say, "haters gonna hate" so I'm sure there are a lot of other fans who think this is a sham. It was investigated by the NCAA. It was their findings. He continues playing after this weekend. End of Story.
  6. Number aren't hype. Numbers don't lie. Strength of schedule doesn't lie. Was that film of TC?
  7. Hype? You need to take off the blindfold and maybe look up what that word means. Mater Dei's schedule: two 5A teams, four 4A teams, two 3A teams, and only ONE 2A team. TC's schedule: two 3A teams, five 2A teams and one 1A team to which TC lost. Mater Dei's SOS is 124 while TC's is 185. Mater Dei went 7 - 2 against that schedule only losing to 5A Castle (on the road) 13 - 0 and 10 - 3 at home against 4A Memorial who is still in the 4A tournament. Mater Dei beat #6 ranked Evansville Central (ON THE ROAD) 10 - 7 in the 8th game of the season. I don't know where you come up with "hype". The facts are in the numbers. Their defense is the strength of the team. and their kicker is the best I've seen this year. What is TC's best win, 3A Greensburg, the 32nd ranked 3A team? TC has nothing that Mater Dei hasn't already seen. Athletes? They've played against good ones. Offense? They've beaten good ones. Defenses? They've scored on good ones. Sorry, but there is NO "hype" surrounding Mater Dei. I'm telling you they are THAT good. Oh they still have to play the game. It's just a formality.
  8. 6 points in 2 years bump you up. They got 3 points for last year's semi-state win. If they win semi-state again, that's 6 points. So unless they changed the rule that I am not aware of, they will get bumped up to 2A.
  9. Friday night or Saturday during the day time, it makes no difference. Mater Dei wins the South and plays for the 2A title Thanksgiving weekend.
  10. These 2 programs know each other well in the tournament. In 2014 and 2018, they met each other in the semi-state. NV was the winner both times. They met in 2015 in the regional and again, NV was the winner. I find it interesting that NV is looking to go back to the state final for the second year in a row. If they get there, win or lose they will get bumped up to 2A due to the success factor. Lutheran has gone to the semi-state for the past 3 years in a row only to fall short. 2016 - lost to Linton, 2017 - lost to Eastern Greene, and as I mentioned, lost last year to NV. So both teams are not strangers to deep tournament runs. This should be one of the better regional matchups in the state regardless of class. Lutheran has been ranked #1 for most of the season and will be at home. Is that going to be enough to get them over the hump? Since the Falcons loss to Linton, they have been on a roll. It's tough to beat the same team twice in one season, but they did it against PH. I doubt too many teams in 1A will have the offensive firepower that PH had. Am expecting this to be a dog fight. Best of luck and good healthy to the Falcons and the Saints.
  11. Just saw a report that says the NCAA will only suspend Young for 2 games and not four as was first reported. He sat out last week against Maryland and will sit out this week against Rutgers. He will be eligible to play again against Penn State. So the defense will be at full strength to finish the season and beyond.
  12. It's a sick joke. Every year now it seems like the SEC gets 1/2 to 3/4 of the conference ranked in the early season polls. "Look at us everybody. We have to play ranked teams every week in our conference!. See how superior we are to the rest of you?" And ESPN sells that crap to anyone who listens. Bama lost to the Buckeyes in 2014. Bama lost to Clemson last year. They aren't invincible and Saban didn't invent football. I keep hoping some NFL team will come along and sweep him out of college football. Okay rant is over. LOL
  13. It's the SEC. What can you do? The media slobbers all over them. They are the greatest because ESPN says so.
  14. Saw a report on this on the 5:00 news last night.
  15. It's not going to matter how IU finishes this season, Allen isn't going anywhere. There aren't going to be AD's lining up to offer him other HC jobs even after the bowl game. One winning season and one bowl game doesn't exactly influence people to beat down your door in the hope you will leave and coach their program. Maybe if he does a repeat next season, there may be some rumblings starting, but that's next year. There isn't much to discuss this year about him leaving or even others pursuing him.
  16. I'm thinking it won't matter much how IU finishes the season. The bowl game will be the one remembered. It's always about the last game. I know how much Glass likes Allen so if another program comes calling, I would think Glass would pony up some cash to match the offer and keep Allen. I believe if IU goes bowling again next year, Allen may get some suitors, but this year? Don't think so. He's in the beginning stages of rebuilding the football program. I don't see him leaving before it's in full swing or close to it.
  17. Minnesota just became a dark horse in all of this. They are soon to become the next media "darlings". It's very possible they could be undefeated and arrive in the B1G championship game that way. It would be good for the B1G to have both Minnesota and Ohio State undefeated. Might have to attend that game. Fleck is becoming a hot commodity in the coaching ranks.
  18. No wonder it's snowing, IU is ranked #24 in the polls this week. LOL Thought they might be. Kind of cool they get voted in on a bye week even.
  19. I wonder what the top ten will look like this week? LSU knocked off Bama and Ohio State was a whopping 43 point favorite over Maryland but covered the point spread by 16! I suppose they will move LSU to #1 since they won on the road. Oh and a by the way moment, Penn State lost to Minnesota. They will probably be replaced by Clemson or Alabama. As was stated in an earlier post, Penn State was the weakest of last week's top 4 and it showed yesterday. Will Minnesota make a a big jump? I guess we'll find out soon enough.
  20. You'll get no argument from me about Young's talent/abilities. He is the best in the country. I've seen every game he has played at OSU. I liked Meyer's assessment about the Ohio State defense and why they would be fine without Young. According to Meyer, every player on the starting defense will get drafted. In his opinion they are all early to middle round picks. That's quite an assessment. for an entire starting unit Maybe Meyer is a bit of a homer with his comment, but when you look at it top to bottom he may not be too far off. I feel this team is even better than the 2014 team that won the title. There are NO weaknesses on this team anywhere unless you count the backup to Fields as a weakness. Penn State = another year of the toothless lion. I guess we now know that Minnesota is for real. Well at least this weekend they are. Undefeated Minnesota vs undefeated Ohio State in the B1G title game? Would make for some great hype.
  21. The report says it was NOT an alumni or a booster who gave the loan, so how does that make me naive? Had it been an alumni or booster? Duh! You should have kept watching. I just saw on ESPN the university is appealing the suspension and they reported it may be reduced to 2 games. That would probably ruin your day if it gets reduced. Are you so naive to think that Ohio State's defense is only about Young? With or without Young they are STILL one of the best defenses in the country. Young is the icing on the cake.
  22. Serious question for Mater Dei fans: Is your PK getting any scholarship offers? Reminds me a lot of the Scecina kicker from a few years back who (I believe) went to Illinois.
  23. You accuse people of something you make up in your own mind, but no one else should be offended by your delusional comments. Got it. Something your "momma" must have left out of your "education". Duluth boxers......that explains everything. Oh and congrats to MD. Will they be able to stay on the field with WEBO?
  24. If the investigation shows no wrong doing, why would he "shut it down"? This isn't the same situation as Bosa was in (injury). From what I've heard, he borrowed money from someone and paid it back. It's not like it was a gift. That would be a big difference, wouldn't it? You can probably bet that Young will be one of the first 2 picks in the draft. Someone may want Tua instead at #1. The Bosa brothers were great, but Young is better than either one of them. He is relentless on a football field.
