  1. It isn't for anything important. It's just for a personal agenda. Funny how people demand information from other people just to serve their own conspiracy theories. Too lazy to research it themselves? They don't contribute anything constructive. Their favorite game is pot stirring and some of them never seem to get tired of it.
  2. The Colts signed Xavier Rhodes, CB from the Minnesota Vikings. The deal is reportedly a one year deal worth about 5 mil. This signing saves the Colts about 1.85 mil in cap money since they saved 6.85 mil when they cut Desir. Rhodes hasn't been that good the past couple of years but before that he was a 3 time pro bowler and he's dealt with injuries. Maybe a change of scenery and schemes will revive his play. At any rate, he's a vet CB to work with the 2 young guys. If he doesn't work out, the Colts can just walk away. Another good deal by Ballard.
  3. Saw that on NFL.com. Good depth signing. Several good reasons: He played with Buckner last year on the 49ers, he played at Notre Dame with Nelson, he is a Warren Central grad so there is that homecoming factor. Wonder if Buckner had anything to do with this signing? Haven't seen any contract details yet, but the film I saw on him he looks really athletic. Something that the Colts like in their defensive players.
  4. The Colts saved 6.85 million in cap money by cutting Desir (zero dead cap money). Have seen rumors that they are wanting more cap money to sign other free agents. One of them is rumored to be Clowney. I really hope not. He is over hyped and expects to be paid too much money. Plus he gets a lot of off sides called against him. Was hoping they might sign Anderson WR from the Jets but he just signed with the Panthers and got 20 million over 2 years. Have a suspicion the Colts might look at a couple of guys in the XFL. Hoping they might check out a TE named Donald Parham since the Colts could use another TE. They have Doyle and Mo Allie Cox and that's about it. Parham played on the Houston Roughnecks in the XFL. Dude is 6 ft 8 in tall and 240 pounds. He was the top TE in the XFL. In 5 games he had 34 catches for 300+ yards and 4 TD's. The TD total was tied for 3rd in the entire league. The second closest TE to him in yards had 170 less than Parham. Saw some highlights of him. He looks promising. Oh and he is only 22. Doesn't turn 23 until August.
  5. It isn't just the Buckner and Rivers signings, they also signed AC to another 2 year contract. That means Rivers will be playing behind one of the best O lines in the NFL. I wouldn't make too much about the year Rivers had last year. He played behind a crappy O line. Look at the last 5 years and you'll see he's been one of the best. Yes, Father Time catches up to all of us and he isn't the same player he was 8 - 10 years ago. But I believe with this line and the scheme he will play in this year, will tell us IF he is really washed up or not. If he has a second "bad" year, then we'll know. But as someone pointed out, he's on a one year deal so the Colts can walk away. I have a feeling the Colts are going to make the playoffs and Rivers will get a one year extension. One thing is for sure, Rivers will chuck it deep. We didn't get that with Brissett. I see the Colts drafting a QB this year to sit behind Rivers. Personally, I am hoping it is Jalen Hurts. I've been seeing a lot people wanting the Colts to draft Love (Utah State), but Hurts is faster (40 time in the combine) and can run the RPO just as well. Plus Hurts has played for 2 big time programs in Alabama and Oklahoma. He's played in plenty of big games and won a National Championship at 'Bama. So in that regard, I feel he will be better prepared to transition to the NFL than a lot of the other QB's in the draft. I didn't quite get cutting Desir. But with Ballard, who knows? No one saw the Buckner signing coming.
  6. Thanks pops! No I didn't see anything about it. Am sad they had to suspend it but in light of the situation, it's the right decision. Maybe in another month this will have blown over and things can resume.
  7. Does anyone know if the Linton game will be on the radio? Since they are limiting who can be there, will that "75" include the broadcast team? I wrote a post and it seems to have been deleted. I asked how do they know that the team members, coaching staff and the family members won't be infected? If they are truly serious about this, they should cancel it totally. A very sad situation indeed.
  8. Yes, I saw all of that earlier today. I still have to wonder who thinks the team members, their families or the coaching staff can't be infected. It only takes one class mate/student at school or one adult to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. It's about as bad as the warning they are posting to NOT attend an event with more than 250 people. 250? Does that mean that any number less and you are safe? Who's the genius who came up with that number??? Never mind that 1,000's died last year from the flu. I don't recall them shutting down the world because of that. I get that it's a new virus and there is no vaccination for it yet, but people have gotten the flu even after they've had a flu shot.
  9. So according to that, players. their family members, coaching staff, and team managers can't get infected with it. Right.
  10. Saw a news report this morning that the IHSAA is having a meeting to decide if fans can attend games or if the tournament will be suspended due to the corona virus. More to follow.
  11. Seems like since the Marshall game, the Miners have been playing only to the level of their competition and not playing the same ball they had prior.. They've been heavy favorites in all of those games and have only been winning by slight margins. I get that it's the tournament and everyone should/is playing their best ball. However, I'm not seeing it from the Miners. Coach Hart should make them watch tapes of some of the Lady Miners games. Maybe they could learn how you play team ball and not "me" ball. <shrugging shoulders>
  12. And some people just wanna watch the world burn...….
  13. Actually largest margin of victor in 2A: 42 by Linton Vs. Frankton, 2020. LOL
  14. Forgot to mention the Miners also set 2 other state records: Points in a quarter (27 in the second) and margin of victory (regardless of class).
  15. Holy Smokes, Batman! A SUPER congrats to the Linton Lady Miners! That defense has been lights out during their championship run. Oh sure they have the scorers, but I was VERY impressed by that defense all throughout. No offense to the Lady Eagles, but the Miners made it look much easier that I expected. It's hard to believe this Miner team has no seniors. Look out for them next season! And 47 points at halftime set a new 2A state tournament record.
  16. They couldn't even keep possession of the ball for the last shot in the first half. Gave up a turnover and a run out to be down 9 at the half. That had to be the worst shooting I have ever seen from an IU team! They jacked up shots that wasn't even close to the rim. I couldn't believe some of the junk they threw up in that first half. It would have been one thing if Purdue was playing great defense, but IU was junking wide open looks. 20 points in the first half and 27 in the second half isn't going to win you ball games. Is it time for a coaching change (again)? I wasn't fond of the Miller hire anyway.
  17. Harrell has the Lady Miners as14 point favorites over Frankton in the title game. Several people I talked with before the semi-state game last weekend felt that last week's game between Linton and Triton Central was for the state championship as the northern semi-state wasn't as strong. But as they say, "they still have to play the game(s)". If Linton shows up and plays their game, they should win. That zone defense they have played in the tournament has been "lights out!" What an historic season for them! The scary thing is, there are no seniors on the team. Win or lose on Saturday, I would expect them to be highly ranked going into next season.
  18. Maybe they are like West Vigo and they are "rolling" now. (sorry I just couldn't resist)
  19. A bit ironic that on Senior Night the Miners were led in scoring by a freshman. He's going to be fun to watch the next three years. The past 2 games have been "meh" by the Miners. Yes, they both were wins, but were a bit closer than they should have been. West Vigo wasn't the only team missing layups. I think I counted the Miners missed 5 of them in the first quarter. They missed at least 3 of them in the first couple of minutes. And free throw shooting was simply awful by the Miners!
  20. I've heard a rumor that every game is different.
  21. After an historic win in the Regional last week, the Lady Miners go even further and win the Southern Semi-State over previously undefeated Triton Central by the score of 48 - 43. CONGRATS TO THE MINERS!!! NOW GET THAT STATE TROPHY!!!
  22. Then why the warning? "Don't overlook West Vigo, they are rolling." You expect them to beat Linton or else you wouldn't have made that comment. I guess where you come from a 2 game winning streak is rolling. Fully healthy = a 2 game winning streak over 1A teams? I didn't "go off" as you accuse me of, just stated facts. I stated you won 2 in a row. You want to thump your chest over that? Whatever. Peace out.
  23. I wasn't stating an opinion, just facts. You say your guys are rolling. That is your opinion which you are entitled to. They have a 2 game winning streak. Linton is on a 13 game winning streak, but I won't say Linton is "rolling". And those wins are facts and NOT my opinion. Past games mean nothing ONLY when someone is trying to get their opinion recognized. I deal in facts and reality. You say you are at full strength now. How long has that been? Just the past 2 games? And to say you are rolling due to beating Clay City and Cloverdale? Your opinion doesn't have much basis in that regard. VERY small and weak sample size. I can agree that every game is different, but I don't agree that past games mean nothing. In your mind if past games mean nothing, then I guess I can see how you can just ignore the fact that THS beat you in overtime and 3 days prior Linton beat them by 24. And that was just last week! So your guys are rolling for one week??? The facts don't support your opinion. But hey, I'll give you some credit for being a true, blue homer. "Rah, rah, rah. Our guys can beat your guys". Reality is such a bitter disappoint for those who tend to wear rose colored glasses.
  24. I don't think our definition of "rolling" is the same. West Vigo is on a 2 game winning streak with wins over Clay City and Cloverdale, not exactly basketball powers. Prior to that the Vikings had a 4 game losing streak. One of those losses was to Marshall, Illinois (66 - 54) a team Linton beat just last night (69 - 54). And speaking of the Wabash Valley Classic, Linton beat West Vigo 68 - 61. They also beat THS 56 - 54. And, speaking of THS, on February 11th, Linton beat them 80 - 56. 3 days later on the 14th, that same THS team beat West Vigo in overtime, 53 - 49. That was just last week, so I'm not seeing how West Vigo is rolling. By the way, Linton is favored to win by 20 over the Vikings.
