Gonna take some time at Greenfield Central. Both QBs and top WR transferred from the program in the last 9 months.
Looks like their varsity has less than 50 players. But the new coach is going about it the right way. Both 7th and 8th grade teams were in the wishbone.
Solid. Also some things to work on.
From NP twitter:
Charlie Spegal 6-95 Luke Canfield 4-66, 2 TD Eric Roudebush 30yd TD Lincoln Roth 2-3 passing, 43 yds, 2 TD (33 to Austin ,10 to R.Large) Darin Johnson 31 TD run Defense pitches a shutout.
Defense had two picks and recoverd a fumble. Scecina looks to be down a bit though.
Thank you. I appreciate that. I definitely did not mean to imply anybody was chirping. Dwenger is confident they will compete in 5A. Good for them. That's what this season is all about. I knew last year after week 2 that NP was very, very good. Definitely lost some great seniors and leadership. That team was also blessed with very few injuries. Not sure if this team is in their class yet. The QB last year was one of the toughest runners I've ever seen. Well maybe since his brother. That will be missed.
Cathedral returns a QB, OL, LB, and S that are all getting college looks. I read in the paper they may be very young on the OL, with possibly 3 sophomores starting. They also lost RB1, WR1, and TE1 to graduation.
Not sure "coast" is the word I'd use. New Pal returns quite a few players, but also lost a lot of quality seniors that played major roles. QB, WR, center, guard, and 3 ILB all graduated. The center also played D-line and has moved on to play at UIndy. The WR also played CB and is gonna play baseball at Indiana Wesleyan. And one of the LB is gonna play at Taylor. Lost some studs. Need some kids to step up into those spots.
If I remember correctly, there was an incident with the 4x100 team on the exchange at sectional. One runner stepped on another, rolling his ankle and shredding the shoe of the next runner.
As for ranking the players speed, I don’t know the answer to that. Top 5 at least?
Ralph also coaches track so there are quite a few football players that participate.
Not sure Spegal had ever run track before. It seems to have helped, as Ive notice a difference in spring and summer stuff.
