  1. I follow these threads alot and from a fan of a school who last 2 seasons has watched their team get beat like drum by privates it seems the problem is 1 thing: location. I really have no strong feelings one way or another about it to be honest. But it seems all these arguments revolve around Indy, Ft Wayne, Evansville. Of course its an advantage when you can pull kids from all over these areas. If a kid can't hack it at a larger school they can go there. Also see the arguement of open enrollment for publics and yes that works in certain areas. But that isn't a case at 90% of 1A schools. Anyone ever been to Campbellsburg? Let me know how open enrollment helps. So again I think the problem seems to be more around small schools in large metro areas.

In all honesty I can the arguement for moving privates out of 1A but also see Rock Creek Academy struggling to do anything so far. So what if it was all privates were minimum 2A, but still kept on enrollment based otherwise. 4 yr cycles where you have to make the state title game at least 3 times to move up and make it 2 times to remain up (i think points for sectionals and regionals are silly). This is probably cause true heavy hitters like Cathedral to move but not punish schools like Evansville Mater Dei. Just spit Ballin as I read these threads.

See that’s exactly the train of thought I was having on the topic. There really seems to be a lot of distaste for Luers on this forum. I don’t think state titles or the catholic thing have much to do with it because if that did then Chatard and cathedral would be the most “disliked” of all.

There is also an entire thread devoted to CC. So its been hashed out already for a week or so

You are not going to get away with that comment.   The "great respect" you have for them is clear in wanting to impose a 2.0 multiplier on them which would ensure 99% of those schools would never win a State Champ.   Respect?  Give me a break.  Cathedral is the ONLY school can could compete going moving up 2 classes from their enrollment which is what the multiplier would do.    Respect?  The 2.0 multiplier is disrespect.    At least try and be honest.   Respect?  Give me a break.

Now I'm just picturing Allen Iverson saying respect instead of practice.

  4. Well.....as WW is getting steam rolled currently i thought I'd take a min to say congrats to both teams on outstanding seasons. Sucks we went down this way. All I can do as a fan is hope the future remains bright and we continue to build on this and try again in the future. A hell of a senior class is leaving...best overall I personally ever seen. Between what happen last year and doing all this covid stuff the team and staff should be proud to get here. Congrats to @senatorcoach72 on a great season. Hopefully next coach is ready to continue to build up what we have. @Coach_Hogan_Brother congrats on the victory and best of luck at state.

From what I know, I think WW will struggle to cover CC's receivers. WW should be able to move the ball on the ground. That line and Stevens and McPheeters are good. Bowsman runs it well too and they do a nice job of picking his spots.  Maybe WW has a match up advantage with Strange but outside of that, it will be tough to throw the ball. Plus, CC should have the advantage on the pre-game prayer. CC wins 36-20.

For the record I would be surprised if McPheeters plays. Was in a sling last week.

Seems like a lot of people are counting West Washington out of this game. Have they had an easy road or is CC really that much better?

To be completely honest? Nobody knows anything on here about WW (minus local people) other then our SoS. Which is currently 6 spots lower then CC. However when you have wins over 2 top 5 teams its gonna stand out. As a fan but someone who tries to be impartial CC is definitely favored. Southern rural Indiana isn't something people watch or keep up with so all they can see are the numbers.

Now I too would pick CC to win. Those wins over Lutheran and Putnam (a beatdown score wise) are better then our top wins (Perry Central and North Decatur). But ill continue to hope for an upset. If nothing else I dont want another beating like Lutheran gave us last year. Haha
