  1. As they say: Rensselaer School Corp GAIN Is Gridiron LOSS El Ed requires a lot of time and energy . . . You put up with all of us on here. I believe that you can handle a bunch of elementary noise! Thanks for all your efforts, Mr. Mayor! as always, the game is better from_the_sidelinees007
  2. All: So my question is . . . Is Monica Maxwell the AD? Or was Monica Maxwell the old AD? Just trying to clarify. as always, the game is better from_the_sidelines007
  3. WOW! A lot of talented young men here. Let's Break It Down: 6A - 23 5A - 12 4A - 8 3A - 2 2A - 4 1A - 1 Congratulations to each of these young men! Well deserved! Not picking with the breakdown. Just for informational purposes only . . . HONEST! as always, the game is better from_the_sidelines007
  4. Due to injury, Doyle played 2 HNAC games. He played 4 total games, including 2 IHSAA state tournament games. I'm sure that it is up to each coach whether a player(s) should have been considered for All-Conference without an injury to prevent them from playing. Not sure if the HNAC has a minimum games to play to be considered for all-conference consideration or not. Above my pay grade. as always, the game is better from_the_sidelines007
  5. Yeah . . . . pretty obvious. Not all conference games were played, therefore, NO champion. When, I believe eight games were NOT played, there can not be a champion. Why must the topic continue to be debated. Just leave it rest. as always, the game is better from_the_sidelines007
  6. Hoosier North Athletic Conference Football 2020 Because of missed games there was NO Conference Champion Declared Final standings listed by percentage Pioneer 5-0, LaVille 4-1, North Judson-San Pierre 5-2, Knox 4-2, Winamac 3-2, Triton 2-4, Culver 1-6, Caston 0-7 Hoosier North Athletic Conference Offensive Most Valuable Ezra Lewellen, Pioneer 529 yards rushing in four HNAC games 132.3 average 16.0 average 33 carries 70 run scrimmage from scrimmage 7 touchdowns Hoosier North Athletic Conference Defensive Most Valuable Sam Smith, Caston 70 tackles in 70 games as always, the game is better from_the_sidelines007

  8. Watched the Pioneer-LaVille game on the internet. Pioneer has speed that LaVille could not duplicate in practice. The Pioneer offensive line was very intentional and confident in what they ran. Pionee's offensive line opened holes that were just big enough for the speed of the backs to get through and they were in the secondary in the blink of an eye. That speed doesn't neet gapping holes to get through. LaVille just did not have any answers for the handful of looks that Pioneer gave them. Kudos to the LaVille Football team that could have packed it in back when they were sidelined early in the season. They came together, thanks in part due to a senior class that was hungry to lead and hungry for success. Coach Hostrawser and his coaching staff did a fine job of utilizing the talent they had this season. That roster might not have been a big one, but Coach Hostrawser made the best with what he had. They made adjustments from a year ago on offense and that defensive mindset that Coach Hostrawser brings continues to get the job done. Kudos also to a freshman QB that was thrown into the fire following an injury to their senior QB. He came in and did an admirable job given the circumstances. It was nice to see the Doyle kid return to add depth and chip in on offense, defense and wherever he could. That was a very young offensive line to go with a young quarterback, and a couple young runners in the backfield for Coach H to build around for the years go come. The defense was equally young, as at least half of those boys were underclassmen as well from what I could see. On this night, Pioneer the better team with more execution and weapons than the Lancers. Not the result the Lancers wanted, but this Pioneer team is a solid team. IMO, Bremen will have its hands ful next week for a sectional championship. Be interesting to see if the Lions can use the film scout to find something different, a wrinkle, a gimic to use to slow the Pioneer offense. Pioneer sets the play, acts like they don't care if you know what it is and challenges you to stop what they do. And do well, I might add. NJSP, Pioneer, and Winamac left standing in the HNAC. All the best to that trio as they move forward in state tournament. Early precincts say NJSP and Pioneer playing for a regional. as always the game is better from_the_sidelines007
  9. Friday, Oct. 30 Calumet at Knox, 8 pm Pioneer at LaVille, 7:30 pm Culver at North Judson, 7:30 pm Triton at Adams Central, 7 pm Caston at Southwood, 7 pm Here is my two cents . . . keep the change! Knox Pioneer NJSP Adams Central Southwood as always, the game is better from_the_sidelines007
  10. How about the HNAC! All eight teams pick up a victory. So very happy for Coach Porter and the Caston Comets . . . nice work guys And Triton, not expected to win . . . . got off to a good start and held off Churubusco. Kudos, gentlemen! Knox, Pioneer, NJSP, and LaVille continue to a consistent 'Business As Usual' beat. There is a reason they call it special teams. Just ask Winamac. Friday, Oct. 23 Knox 56, Benton Central 22 LaVille 27, Cass 0 Pioneer 38, Delphi 8 Winamac 21, South Central 14 Culver 48, Lake Station 29 North Judson 54, West Central 0 Triton 24, Churubusco 14 Caston 34, North Miami 28 Now its time for sectional semifinals Friday, Oct. 30 Calumet at Knox, 8 pm Pioneer at LaVille, 7:30 pm Culver at North Judson, 7:30 pm Triton at Adams Central, 7 pm Caston at Southwood, 7 pm Who are your winners in the IHSAA State Tournament Week #2?
  11. This weeks PSA brought to you by from_the_sidelines007 Hey All! The Gridiron Digest is inside of $500 of reaching its $3300 goal to meet paying the bills. 12. I was watching a video stream between LaVille and Culver. Not sure if many other HNAC people other than the LaVille followers have noticed this, but Coach Hostrawser's entire offensive starting line is two sophomores and three freshmen. Or at least thats what I saw. They also have a freshman QB, who has done just fine following the injury to one of the IMO better quarterbacks in the HNAC coming into this season. They also have another sophomore lined up at fullback. Some nice talent over the next couple of years. And, unless I miss my count - which is possible - I did see a freshman and four sophomores starting on defense. The senior class is talented and a hungry bunch of Lancers trying to lead the underclassmen. Both LaVille and Pioneer have to win first round games to foce a second rount contest at Lancer Field in the semifinal round of the state tournament, but let's get there first. Let the boys take care of business in the first round, then we can have those discussions about a Pioneer-LaVille match up. I, too, think it would be a good idea for the Pioneer-LaVille game to count in the HNAC standings. Would close the gap on the eight games that were missed during the regular season. Just some ramblings from_the_sidelines007 As always the game is better from_the_sidelines007
  13. No . . . Pioneer finished 5-0 LaVille 4-1 NJSP 5-2 Knox 4-2 Winamc 3-2 Tirton 2-4 Culver 1-6 Caston 0-7 Still no conference champion since eight HNAC games were not played. Maybe LaVille and Pioneer could count its second round IHSAA state tournament game as an HNAC game . . . providing both Pioneer and LaVille win in week one. as always, the game is better from_the_sidelines 007
  14. Knox by 20 LaVille by 20 Pioneer by 17 Triton-Winamac toss up . . . . going with Triton by 3 My two cents . . . keep the change Caston at Knox ©, 7:30 pm LaVille at Culver ©, 7 pm Pioneer at North Judson ©, 7:30 pm Winamac at Triton ©, 7 pm as always, the game is better from_the_sidelines007
  15. Just a couple of weeks away from the state tournament. So, let's have some conversation about if you were to seed Sectional 34, how would you seed it? Here is what we know LaVille 4-0 Pioneer 6-1 Bremen 5-2 Delphi 5-2 Wabash 4-3 Lewis Cass 2-5 Manchester 2-5 Rochester 0-5 Is it based on sagarin ratings, records, strength of schedule? What say you? Can't discuss what we don't know . . . i.e. LaVille and Pioneer did not play, LaVille and Bremen did not play, etc. Let's discuss what we know to this point. as always, the game is better from_the_sidelines007
  16. Here's my 2 cents . . . Keep The Change! Knox By 20 WInamac By 11 LaVIlle By 3 Pioneer By 32 as always, the game is better from_the_sidelines007
  17. All: This topic has been brought up, but I don't know if we ever got a clear answer. Did the Hoosier North Athletic Conference decide to have a conference champion? I realize I'm opening a can of worms because there are those on here that think that there still should be an HNAC Champion. IMO, I just don't see how a conference champ can be determined when you have eight games not being played. No disrespect to anyone. . . . Just say in! as always, the game is better from_the_sidelines007

  19. Triton at NJSP (+18) So if you are a man of your word . . . and I take it you are. And IF and I emphasize the word IF you were a betting man, you would be making that donation to GID. The line was NJSP +18 . . . the final score was NJSP 30, Triton 12. That is exactly 18 points. The house wins all ties. See the donation link as The GID is still taking donations to cover expenses for the year. Let's see how we did on the others: Glenn at LaVille (+27). If you took Glenn, You would have won. From what I watched on a live stream, the game was much closer than some expected. I think jh had his pick at 31-17, if I remember correctly. LaVille had the ball inside the red zone three times - lost the ball on downs once, missed a field goal and threw an interception near the goal line. The Lancers definitely had their chances. The LV defense was the difference, IMO, 2 INTS, 2 fumble recoveries, 4 punts, and held on downs What a game . . . fans in attendance got their monies worth. Not a work of art for either team, but also got to remember there are a lot of young puppies playing out there. A pair of freshman QBs being asked to direct their team. Caston at Culver (-8) Culver wins 36-12. Culver wins. Pioneer at Knox (-9) Pioneer wins 38-20. Pioneer wins. West Central at Winamac (+24) Winamac 35-12 ..... If you took West Central, you win. Remember These Are Just Predictions. as always, the game is better from_the_sidelines007
  20. Ok . . . Here Goes: Caston at Culver (-8) Glenn at LaVille (+27) Pioneer at Knox (-9) Triton at NJSP (+18) West Central at Winamac (+24) as always, the game is better from_the_sidelines007

  22. Friday, Oct. 2 - WEEK #7 Hoosier North Athletic Conference Caston at Culver ©, 7 pm Glenn at LaVille, 7 pm Pioneer at Knox ©, 7:30 pm Triton at North Judson ©, 7:30 pm West Central at Winamac, 7 pm Final third of the regular season Be intereting to see who comes out on top in the Pioneer at Knox game. I'll post my predictions later this week. What say you?
  23. Let's put it a clearer . . . LaVille was far better prepared. Knox undsiciplined team and not ready for LaVille's style of offense Several times, LaVille simply beat the Knox defense because they were not in position. I say that after watching the game film. Snaps left, right, and over the head of their quarterback. More yapping going on instead of helping each other out and making adjustments. LaVille has had its share of injuries, as well. LaVille also had a couple players injured during the game. Let's give credit where credit is due. LaVille flat outplayed Knox on this night. Both teams had to deal with injuries. Knox had at least double the players that LaVille had available and still won by what, three touchdowns. Kudos to the LaVille coaches and players for a job well done. as always, the game is better from_the_sidelines007
  24. I ask because I don't know. . . Please forgive me. Has a kicker ever won Mr.Football? as always, the game is better from_the_sidelines007
