Not all choices in life are as simple as “let’s buy a ring for my kid”. Sometimes circumstances lead you home. At the end of the day there are far more important things than kids getting rings for playing a game that they love.
That is why the "bought ring" comment is in itself absurd comparing schools in the inner city of Indianapolis to rural is night and day difference. Especially when the choice of schools in a small area are a lot different between inner city and rural. Plenty of kids within the Chatard 500 plus student body not on that 77 player roster for football. Lest they give out rings for drama club, chess club, model UN etc. these days. I doubt parents are sending their children to Kessler and Crittenden for an abundance of rings.

Here’s a different angle on the play at 1:33 of the video. Definitely a foul.
Yep 100% (I can see why people were questioning from the game film and angle it was at. Looking from the other side though you can tell.

What percentage of Chatard students would have actually attended an IPS high school? There aren't many of them left.
IPS wouldn't be the only choice. You have the Lawrence schools (Lawrence North and Lawrence Central) and North Central. Then you have the other p/p schools (Brebeuf Jesuit, Heritage Christian, Cathedral, Park Tudor). For the parochial elementary schools a little further North there is Carmel, Westfield, Noblesville, Fishers, and HSE to choose and Guerin Catholic.
I sometimes think some don't realize the amount of schools available around the North to Northeast side of Indianapolis
Distance from Chatard to:
Park Tudor (9 min), Cathedral (10 min), Law Cent (12 Min), North Cent (12 Min), Heritage Christian (15 min), Carmel (16 min), Law North (17 min), Brebeuf (21 min), Westfield (23 min), Fishers (25 min), HSE (27 min), Noblesville (31 min).

I mean all the teams had to deal with Covid, it's not like the Hoosiers were exonerated from covid while others were not.
Should Center Grove, Cathedral, Roncalli, Chatard, Western Boone, and Covenant Christian all give back their 2020 STate Championship Titles because of "Covid". I don't feel they should.

Who are the 2 poor players who get left off the field if they punch their ticket? Unless IHSAA increased roster size over 75?
I am not close to the program but @Lysander can't keep secrets and on rare occasions our brain waves sync up (when we actually use them) or at least reminisce about the days of CJB and Ly gets a sugar high. I digress in honor of Lysander's utter appreciation for how the IHSAA handles things with infinite wisdom, he will be suggesting to Coach Doyle to take all non starters and those not on the two-deep and write them on ping pong balls and select the 2 unlucky contestants. Unless of course one of those unlucky contestants mother is on the list to wash the uniforms from the previous game, then a 3rd ping pong ball will be drawn.

Just had to go out and bring up "Coach Junction Boy" some of the newer posters can't handle learning about CJB. Careful with those Bit 'O Honey's we don't want too many dentist visits!

77 Varsity players for Chatard. @Lysander use to be a 3-way play (cooked, cleaned, and drove) now he retired.

Knox has 37 on the roster. 5 to 7 kids play both ways. As far as Chatard, I have no idea. Max Preps says they have 137. They could play a different offense and defense every quarter if they wanted.

This is probably going to irk some people, but I have a hard time putting guys who coached at private schools over public coaches with similar resumes.
I also think people are sleeping on Howell heavily. He won 19 straight Sectionals. He coached in 11 state championship games. He’s HM at the very least.

Danville was 0-12 (from 97-2015) before they beat Chatard in 2016...
Yep but they had their number in 2016 and 2017 many didn't think they would win those games.

Can you please provide links where you acquired these percentages? So only residents of Indianapolis attend Chatard?
Nope I only did residents of Indianapolis because that is all I felt like doing. You want more you put your own fingers to work. Ultimately it doesn't matter. Not but a small fraction of the population of Indianapolis or donut counties will or would even consider going to Chatard. You can toss up all the large numbers you want. Within a few miles radius there are 7-8 High Schools to choose from near Chatard.
Knox = 553 students
Chatard = 667 students
Chatard rosters 77 players 2 of those 77 aren't from a parochial elementary school. I wouldn't be able to tell you how many act of contrition's or signs of the cross the 75 have done but I am sure it is a lot just like the population of Indianapolis.

-Dick Dullaghan and Bud Wright are no-brainers.
-Rick Streiff has to be on there too I would think
-Eric Moore, Chris Geesman, Matt Lindsay, and Bruce Scifires all have legitimate cases.
Add in Vince Lorenzano too, terrific record at Chatard took Ritter to the STate Championship too and also coached at Mississinewa.

How many Catholics reside in Marion and surrounding donut counties vs. Starke county? And the Indy area p/p's have always been the oppressors, due the numerous advantages their government school counterparts will never have. This has been argued ad nauseum on ever iteration of the GID since it's inception.
Prediction: Chatard 96, Knox 0.
Knox 9.8% of 3,232 population (in Knox only) Indianapolis 11.5% of 882,039 population. Of course it doesn't matter because not all of them are going to go to Chatard.
It is only Tuesday perhaps along with Offensive, Defensive, and Special Teams reps some Sign of the Cross reps can be worked in.

There are plenty of mountains at Twin Peaks, Tilted Kilt, and Hooters.

Curious if Chatard has faced an offense similar to Knox's this year. I would assume (and could be wrong) that Chatard has exclusively faced spread teams. Knox does a great job of hitting opposing defenses with a variety of formations and looks while sometimes pulling what seems like half of their line on every play. Definitely a difficult offense to prepare for if you don't see something similar all season.
Most of the Chatard players and coaches have been around the CYO football fields. Student body right and student body left are mainstays. Perhaps Coach Doyle can contact Coach Scifres and have a discussion about the different ways to block the toss sweep for old times sake.

Calpreps has 31-22 in favor of East Central. I don't look at the scores as much as I do the percentages. East Central is listed as 73% chance of being the winner and New Palestine 27% chance. Better percentages than others as of late against East Central. I have had East Central as the run away winner of 4A all year I don't see anything changing that. The Dragons will make it a respectable game but the Trojans talent and experience will come to the forefront.
East Central (St. Leon, IN) 31 (73%) New Palestine (IN) 22 (27%)

History says you're wrong. Chatard has heard all of this before. Knox has played nobody. Happens every year with these rural teams and Sagarin - as it relates to Chatard and generally speaking - hasn't been wrong. You can be condescending and hard headed all you want, but this is par for the course. Heritage Hills in 2019 couldn't have talked more trash or been more naive. Just like you. Final? 34-3 Chatard. Lawrenceburg a year ago. Final? 34-14 Chatard and the defense this year is far better. Tippy Valley talked. 40-7. Delta was going to "run through Chatard's faces." 35-0 before Delta scored. This movie is in syndicate....it's not new. It's a rerun. Chatard hasn't played Lakeview or Maconaquah. You're right. But if you think Knox beating up on those teams (again, zero games against top 64 rated schools) gives them a shot, I'd love a drink of your Kool Aid. Chatard would name the score against every team Knox has played. You can deny it all you want or discount anything you want. Doesn't change anything. Knox may keep it close for a while just because of the way they play, but they're. Ot bullying Chatard for 4 quarters. Just not happening.
Danville did have Chatard's number in 2016 and 2017, but they got that monkey off their back in 2020.

He isn't incorrect. There is a reason there aren't many IPS schools left and it is all self inflicted by IPS. The IPS choices would be Arsenal Tech, KIPP Indy Legacy, Purdue Poly Broad Ripple, and Shortridge. Take athletics out of the equation and you would be making a wise decision choosing Bishop Chatard just for the academics and safety.
