Mannnn you talking about glory days! Took a date from college to a game and she was amazed at the crowd, admins let us sit on a blanket right outside the endzone..I got a picture of that packed stadium somewhere. It was epic.

I watched the game the next day. 1) Lebanon fans were loud all game, cheered their butts off every play. I mentioned to a buddy, no matter the score was, the way they were cheered on those kids had to feel as if they played the games of their lives. 2)imo, BD may have seen the commitment from that community and gave them something to cheer for and build on moving forward, no need to embarass them as teams may have tried in the past. game was well in hand, let them have some fun?

I will say I was a little shocked that Luers didnt fill up the visitor side against twin lakes, not alot of seats and still wasnt full..Wonder if it made the diocesan bulletin..

I take a big pause with BB, they seemed to always be undefeated then lose when it came to title time, yes last year broke the mold. Those mic schools think tourney time is their time, or least I assume they think this way. CG had kids out, just figured it would be next man up with that program. I know WC path to LOS is pretty laxed and its almost if they win "one" game they're in- with the trojans not being full strength. The bulldogs schedule is no slouch, yet if they played more MIC teams they may have suffered a loss..I know westfield played them pretty tough and a rematch seems realistic...Those kids have confidence now and nothing to lose as underdogs and I can only imagine how many supporters of that program are reminding them of the glory days..Its a reason why the crown has been worn by only a few...js..

Thats crazy work. I figure the student body would be behind them, as well as their parents, the band and their parents, then finally the players and those who support them. Back in the day one kid could bring in relatives and have a supporting cast of 15 family members at a playoff game, let alone a semi state game. the culture has shifted, i get it. My cyo days led me to believe that most of those guys love football and if Luers lost a few might go watch Dwenger or vice versa..heck our middle school coach would drive us to the games as well..Yes things have changed and always will...I digress..I'll go to the Luers game due to my situation yet my kids arent on the field (yet), my boys love battling the elements and it keeps me young while showing community support.

I think many may have only given them a punchers chance against CG as well...Ya got no shot Rock! Cue the music..I wonder if coaches still play movies for the kids in the locker room before games...Harding coach did it once before a supposed beatdown occurred with Northrop..yeah that long ago..i think they had won a sectional the year b4..i was not on the team yet thought they could beat the world..coach said something to the effect of the paper says they are going to take us behind the woodshed and beat our a** before he puts on the drago fight..Before the fight turns an all conference Lineman shouts "kick his a** ROCK", the locker room goes ballistic..ended up losing 14-12 that night..yet it was far from a whooping as the media predicted.. All that being said..I love a good underdog story..WC is still a blue blood and gets some guff when they lose more games than they should yet when it boils down to it..i will always have them as well as the Giants in my top 6 to win 6a..Until BB, the MIC held the crown in 6a, no matter who wore it..yes I am including CG...I know Westfield is tough..6 teams every year really could be hands down favorites..warren being one of them..imho..

Agreed, Luers playing will split the cyo crowd although i think BD will have standing room only friday night.

Thought Luers would remain in 3A due to their "cycle" starting this year with them bumping up by enrollment. I am lost in the sauce with all the changes.

Merrillville wins regionals in back to back years, is it because they didnt get bumped up? Programs need x amount to get bumped up yet need 3 pts to stay in the higher class?

I would never judge a parent on not showing up, I have dealt with enough kids to know that putting food on the table and providing a roof takes priority over showing up to sport contests. I had talked with some guys who pointed out his son was on the team yet werent entirely sure. I thought if he was on the team it would be awesome that he comes out to the games yet could undertand why he wouldnt.. I honestly had no idea. I should have worded it better. I still remember the days when the grammar police would get me when I mis-typed or misspoke. Mea culpa..
