it originally was going to be a best of 7 (with all 7 games being required), so We could still make two days out of it. However, that was potentially getting into a relatively high game count on the season. and no I don't believe Mr. football has to be a state champion right now (though he most certainly should be a state champion in 3a or higher) But in my format, it is undeniable that the team who played a 15 game season, potentially a 10+ game post season, ending with a best of three in one day. and came out on top deserves that shit.

This is my serious attempt at solving all of the problems for the IHSAA in one go, starting with the most crime; the mercy rule. this is very very super serious.

okay bear with me this is gonna be a wild ride. first thing were doing is moving to a 15 game regular season, and forcing out of conference opponents, so we can get proper ratings for all teams. were getting rid of the mercy rule because its shit. were getting rid of the all in format. 10 points required to make it to playoffs 1 point for a win against a school of 400 or more 2 points for a win against a school of 1000 or more no location based games in playoffs, this bracket is seeded all the way from first to last. by sagarin rating. higher seed gets home team every single game. only one tournament all classes duke it out together state championship is a best of three played on the same day (so I still get to watch football all day), since it would otherwise only be one game. Mr. Football exclusively goes to a player from whichever team comes out on top, because lets face it, he earned that shit at this point. edit: I'm aware 'the best solution' is a stupid name for an idea, however I had to change it to that after a sudden realization about the former title.

I think its a splendid idea to cut the playing field in half after the officiating I saw friday night, it can't hurt to reduce the amount of games played, if not for any reason other than to keep these people off the field.

you really are delusional aren't you. 2 teams below 5a could name their score on their way to the 5a trophy, but I believe up to 5 could make a legitimate run to the trophy if given the opportunity Over the last decade there have been multiple teams in 5a which lost in the sectionals, or regionals. Some of these teams that were sectional cannon fodder, would dominate the playing field of 5a this year. This is one of the weakest years 5a has had since the mega schools split into 6a. whoever comes out on top in 5a this year would get waxed by every 5a champion of the past decade, as well as most of the 4a champions of the past decade.

If multiple teams in classes lower than 5a could walk in and take the trophy without breaking a sweat is it not weak?

My post was about the fact that regardless of class the north is going to get torched come thanksgiving. Snider gets the benefit of the doubt because imo 5a is incredibly weak across the board, and I think they could sneak in and potentially win the thing. I also believe that as a whole, Northwestern Indiana high school football is not good. Do with that what you will. To edit onto that, because I can already hear the screeching out my window. There have been a few great teams to come out of the north recently, these are what we call "outliers" none are present this year and if one was it certainly is not Merriville.

There isn't a team north of Carmel that has a fighting chance, other than Snider.

So the argument is that Northwood beat a bunch of 3a schools 17 years ago and so now they are better than WC, got it. makes perfect sense yeah right hudl wouldnt even take the film of a Northwood WC game, you'd have to upload it to Pornhub. Yeah WC doesn't belong in the top 10 even this year, and tbh arguments could be made for Top 20. But this is still the same WC team that played CG within 10 points, a team that very well could make a run for the 6a state title if they weren't going to get clobbered by cathedral on the way. This same WC team played BD relatively close, and beat king, overrated or not they are the only team to have beaten them so far. A win over pike would be an attainable huge achievement for Northwood. Hell Northwood doesn't even have any business in the state title discussion of their own class.
