  1. Yeah I sat in my car for an hour and a half for nothing
  2. Week 2 Predictions BNL (0-1) at Bloomington North (1-0): Not much to say here. The Stars got smashed last week against Martinsville and the Cougars routed Greenwood. Bloomington North wins ugly. Brown County (0-1) at Jennings County (0-1): The Eagles lost 52-6 last week to a perennially bad Owen Valley team. The Panthers lost 48-6 to an improving Norwell team coming off their best season in over a decade. I’m going with Jennings County based on them playing a tougher opponent in week 1. Columbus North (0-1) at Columbus East (0-1): The battle in the trenches is so important in this rivalry. With East being a run-heavy team, they have to win at the o-line in order to stand a chance. The problem is, their run game is the least explosive it’s been in over a decade. East’s lone touchdown last week came as a result of really good field position due to a fumbled punt return. I don’t like East’s chances trying to go the length of the field. And while I have more confidence in the defense, I’m not sure they’re capable right now of stopping a balanced North offense. I hate to say this but I’m taking the rival Bull Dogs over my Olympians. #4 Louisville Manual (1-0) at Floyd Central (0-1): See last week’s Floyd Central game at Louisville Male for reference. I think the Highlanders score this week but the Crimsons will still win big. #2 Gibson Southern (1-0) at New Albany (0-1): If the Columbus North Bull Dogs couldn’t stop that prolific Gibson Southern passing attack, why would the New Albany Bulldogs be able to? I’ll take the Titans in another easy win. Seymour (0-1) at Jeffersonville (0-0): The Red Devils were the only HHC team to go unscathed in week 1 and they have COVID to thank for it. Even without Jeff playing, I like their chances against the Owls. I just don’t have much confidence in Seymour these days and last week’s results sure didn’t change that. Jeffersonville wins it.
  3. Pick ‘Em Standings (after week 1): @Frozen Tundra 6/6 @boilerfan87 5/6 @mamasa 5/6 @Olympian06 5/6 @Fkfootball 4/6 @LC_Bears_04 4/6
  4. Rough night for the HHC. Columbus East loses at Whiteland 28-7 Floyd Central loses at Louisville Male 49-0 New Albany loses at Bloomington South 50-20 Jennings County loses to Norwell 48-6 Seymour loses at South Dearborn 56-26 Jeffersonville is probably glad they have the week off because they’ll likely come out of week 1 with the best reputation. We’ll see what BNL does tomorrow but I’m not too confident.
  5. By the way, where are you at @Fkfootball? You still haven’t picked a winner for tomorrow’s BNL at Martinsville game.
  6. Week 1 Predictions #10 Columbus East at #5 Whiteland - As much as I’d love to pick my Olympians, we haven’t really started hot out of the gate the last five years. Not to mention, that Warrior offense always gives us fits. Whiteland is the pick. Floyd Central at #1 Louisville Male - Whether the Highlanders returned a lot of experience or not, it’s hard imagining they could topple the top team in Kentucky’s 6A class. Bulldogs by a lot. Jennings County vs Norwell (at Knightstown) - This game shocked me when I saw it had been scheduled. The Panthers playing a team from the Fort Wayne area? Not to mention, most regular season neutral games seem to be played at Lucas Oil Stadium so this is definitely abnormal. Nevertheless, the 3A Knights finished last season at 10-2. It was their first winning season since 2009. However, they’ve made steady improvement since head coach Josh Gerber took over in 2016. While they have some holes to fill due to graduation (especially at QB), I think they’ll be more prepared to play than a Jennings County team reeling from a very recent head coaching change. Norwell wins it. New Albany at #9 Bloomington South - This could be a statement game for the Bulldogs. The Panthers have allegedly gotten really good out of nowhere thanks to some incoming transfers. New Albany is feeling confident that they have one of their stronger teams in years and they’re ready to prove it. A win tonight would definitely open some eyes. However, I’m going with Bloomington South in this one. They’re being hyped for a reason. Seymour at South Dearborn - After peaking in 2018, the Knights have fallen off the last couple of seasons. Luckily for them, they’re playing an Owls team that hasn’t been too great lately either. I’m a fan of Seymour head coach Tyson Moore. He’s a good guy but I’m just not too confident in him right now. I think he’ll eventually make a great coach but he’s a pretty young guy with only one season of head coaching experience. He’s going through a learning curve right now. Therefore, South Dearborn wins it. BNL at Martinsville - The Artesians will be coming off a ten-day quarantine period. You have to wonder how much of it will affect their performance on the field. Despite that, BNL has a new coach and they’re just too much of a mystery to me. I don’t know what to expect so I’m keeping my expectations low for right now. Martinsville wins it.
  7. I’m going to wait until Thursday or Friday to make my picks. I don’t want to jump the gun in this COVID world.
  8. Did the BNL and Martinsville game get canceled? I heard a couple of hours ago it was only moved to Saturday so that Martinsville could fulfill their ten day quarantine period.
  9. If I was a fan of any other HHC team I’d feel the exact same way. Not gonna disagree with you on that one bit.
  10. 2021 HHC Prediction: 1. Columbus East - Kind of hard to pick against them. Eddie Vogel is the new head coach but he’s been at East under Bob Gaddis for almost 20 years. Vogel has already said not much will change in the way things are done so I’m going to expect more of the same success on the field. 2. New Albany - They could honestly be the most talented team in the conference. Execution will be the question. 3. Floyd Central - Hard to imagine any of the other teams jumping the Highlanders for third. Despite the slip-up in sectionals last year, James Bragg is building something and he has the talent and resources to do so. 4. Jeffersonville - Isaac Parker is in year three as head coach and the team’s end to year two has given the program some great momentum. The question is, can they maintain it? 5. BNL - This is the team I’m having the hardest time getting a read on. They have a brand new coach and they’re coming off of two straight rough seasons. I feel like they have the potential to be better but there’s just too many unknowns here for me to rank them higher. 6. Seymour - Still not feeling too confident in the Owls. I just have a hard time trusting their young, second-year head coach to get the job done. My impression is that he was a bit overwhelmed making the jump last year. We’ll see how much he and the team have improved. 7. Jennings County - I would’ve had them one spot higher if they didn’t have a last-second coaching change. Every time the program takes a step forward they end up taking two steps back.
  11. Yeah I hope you didn’t take it as an insult. I didn’t mean it that way. I know Floyd Central lost a ton of seniors. Personally, I feel like Charlestown is a fourth-place team at best if they were in the HHC. That’s not to knock them but it’s quite a jump from 3A. They’re a little over half the size of our smallest school, Jennings County.
  12. If the scrimmage was even then my thinking is that’s bad for Floyd Central. Charlestown shouldn’t be on their level. Educate me if I’m wrong but that’s just my perspective on it.
  13. East was supposed to scrimmage at Martinsville but the Artesians are in quarantine. Now East will scrimmage at Decatur Central.
  14. Basketball is an embarrassment and I’m not just talking about the team on the floor. We probably have the worst gym in the state. I wish we could tear it down and start again. I hate watching games there.
  15. Oh come on. This conference has to be the best at something because we sure don’t do it as a whole on the gridiron 😂
  16. Competitive banter is definitely the right word. I save the Ric Flair promos for the people I don’t like 😂
  17. Jeffersonville’s scrimmage and week 1 game are canceled per a post by @NLCTigerFan07
  18. You can add me in that mix. Can’t stand North but I’ll give the devil his due. They have a very solid athletic program across the board and put ours to shame.
  19. Completely agree. I’ve always said conferences should have their teams play each other an equal number of times. If your conference is too big to allow that then maybe you shouldn’t have that many teams to begin with. However, it always comes down to money. The more you can get the less people care about things like balanced conference schedules.
