  1. Problem is, Madison has zero interest in rejoining. Last I heard, Silver Creek and Charlestown have no interest in joining. And I’m still not convinced Columbus North and Bloomington South are joining in football. Knowing what I know about North, HHC football is beneath them.
  2. I haven’t seen anything official. All I’ve seen are conflicting posts. Some say Bloomington South is joining. Some say Columbus North is joining as well. Some say one or both are joining in all sports. Some say one or both are joining in all sports except football. I guess we’ll see.
  3. Bloomington North used to do it in the late 70s and early 80s. It’s Bloomington South’s turn now.
  4. AJ Moye must be putting in the work to change the culture and make the athletics program better as a whole.
  5. As @crimsonace1 has mentioned, these numbers aren’t final. There’s a chance Madison may still be in 3A. Just depends on what the IHSAA numbers say.
  6. I sure hope you’re right. We need someone who can give us the shot in the arm we need to get back in the thick of things.
  7. Yeah I had read through his history. It’s crazy how he had college football coaching jobs and an XFL coaching job at 19, 20, and 21 years old.
  8. Kind of feels like a reaction to what Columbus North did. They hired a 28 year old back in 2022 so now East has found their 28 year old.
  9. Not sure what happened but Bloomington North’s schedule no longer has a week 1 game. Instead, it has them playing both Bloomington South and Mooresville in week 4. I’m sure that’s a mistake and they’ll still play Bloomington South in week 1. They can’t play Mooresville in week 1 because it looks like Columbus East picked up the Pioneers that week. Therefore, that Bloomington South schedule listed has multiple errors.
  10. Yep. Filled in for Greenwood on the Mid-State schedule, kept BNL in week 2, and moved BHSS to week 1.
  11. It’s official. Bloomington North vs Bloomington South is now a week 1 game.
  12. Sheesh. So Columbus East, Jeffersonville, New Albany, and now Seymour are all looking for new head coaches. And with Jennings County going independent, Brayden Tidd is now the second longest tenured football coach in the HHC. 😂
  13. Bloomington North already took Greenwood’s spot.
  14. Yeah every other school is essentially double their size if not more. I wonder if they might try to go to the HHC as well.
  15. Uh oh. What does this mean for Danville?
  16. One of the least enjoyable things in my life is having to go through Seymour on U.S. 50. Have you noticed a decrease in travel time or is it still a nightmare?
  17. We don’t really have any private or charter schools in the area that could impact our enrollment. What we’ve allegedly been impacted by is the fact the Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation implemented an online schooling option for those who didn’t want to attend a physical school and for parents who didn’t want to send their kids to a physical school. The rumor is Columbus East took a big hit from this enrollment-wise. I don’t know about Columbus North but I would have to think they took at least some sort of hit as well. With East and North in the bottom seven of their respective classes as of 2025 based on the 2024 IHSAA enrollment numbers, you can obviously see there’s not a lot of wiggle room for them to lose 100-200 students and not fall down a classification. And if the info I’ve been told by multiple sources is correct, East lost way more than 200 students.
  18. Actually I agree with this. But, at the very least, it never should’ve increased from 2.
  19. @ptr I was looking at John Harrell’s website and I noticed some interesting scheduling information. Plainfield has released their entire schedule and Bloomington North is slotted to play them in week 5 which is exactly the same week Greenwood would play Plainfield. Based on this, I assume Bloomington North will just plug into Greenwood’s spot in the Mid-State schedule. This means they will only have weeks 1 and 2 open for non-conference games. Mooresville has been Bloomington North’s week 1 opponent the last four years so I’m sure that opens up week 1 for a replacement. BNL has been their week 2 opponent for the last five years. My assumption is that will continue and the week 6 game with Jeff (which is only one year old) as well as the week 7 game with Columbus East (which is four years old) will be dropped completely rather than moved to a different week. Therefore, this would mean Bloomington South will be their week 1 game. Unless BNL drops Martinsville (who they’ve played in week 1 the last eight years) and moves their game with Bloomington North up to week 1, I don’t see South playing the Cougars any other week. As for Bloomington South, a week 1 game with Bloomington North fits well on their schedule as their week 2 game with Martinsville has been the norm since 2006 after the Artesians left Conference Indiana the previous season. Playing Bloomington North in week 1 would end the three year series with Columbus East unless South filled in for Bloomington North as Columbus East’s week 7 opponent. However, doing so would mean South’s week 7 game with Columbus North would need to be moved. If both South and Columbus North are independents then this shouldn’t be a problem. If South joins the HHC though then the series with Columbus North could be over. And if Bloomington South were to join the HHC then I assume they would just fill the spot vacated by Madison as each HHC team has non-conference games scheduled during the weeks they used to play the Cubs. No word on Columbus North’s schedule next year but, based on the last 26 years, we can safely assume they’ll be playing Columbus East in week 2. As for Southport, they will be going independent and already have eight of their nine regular season weeks filled. It appears they’re still in need of a week 8 opponent. Other than Terre Haute North in week 4, they don’t have a Conference Indiana team on their schedule.
  20. It’s official. Jennings County will continue playing Columbus East at least for one more year. Aside from the Olympians, BNL and Seymour are the only other HHC teams staying on the schedule. Since BNL is shrinking like Jennings County and since Seymour is a rival, I can’t imagine the Panthers will be willing to drop either of them from their schedule like they intend to do with Columbus East.
  21. You’d have to think an announcement will be made soon if they are joining another conference. If not, it seems like independence will be the route they go even if it’s just for one year.
  22. If East lost as many students as they are alleged to have lost then it wouldn’t be out of the realm of possibility for North to also drop down a classification. I guess we’ll find out for sure in the spring.
  23. They’ll be able to get through sectionals but do they get to state? That’ll be the question. Not trying to knock them but they have a tendency of falling off towards the end of the year. Different scenario. Can’t explain it right now but I’m kind of hoping it happens so everyone can understand.
  24. I hadn’t heard about North but I was wondering if they were impacted enough to have to move down as well. If that truly is the case, it’s put up or shut up time for them. The claim from many of their players and fans over the years is that East was only successful because they didn’t have to play in 6A. It took East two years to reach state and three years to win state at the 5A level. They did so as a low-end 5A school population-wise. North would likely be high-end 5A if they are indeed moving down. Let’s see if 5A is as easy as they said it was.
  25. I don’t know who has applied. All I know is that someone is considering applying who has the potential to be pretty good. I don’t know if he actually will though. I’ll leave it at that.
