Gotcha. I knew there was a lot of money there but didn’t want to assume that was the reason for it. You guys are very successful in athletics overall in the HHC so I wasn’t sure if that’s where the entitlement came from or the money itself.
Where would you say that entitlement comes from? Other than one fan after the East and Floyd Central game, I’ve never had an issue with Floyd Central. Then again, I’m not around you all enough to know.
Question for @Impartial_Observer. Are there referees who can work both IHSAA games and games of another state? If I was a ref and I lived near the border of Indiana and either Kentucky, Ohio, Illinois, or Michigan I’d want to have as many options open as possible. Therefore, I wasn’t sure if this was something that was possible for a ref to do.
It was definitely the right call. They just couldn’t execute it.
As for Floyd Central, they still have two HHC games left. Unless some sort of miracle happens in which they lose out to Jennings County and New Albany, they’re going to be champs for the first time in 20 years. Well-deserved. Coach Bragg, his staff, and all those kids deserve all the credit.

This is me begging you to leave this thread up. We’ve worked too dang hard to get to 163 pages. We HHC football fans don’t have much to cheer about but we at least have this thread. It’s the only thing we have on the rest of the teams and conferences in the state.
Floyd Central 28
BNL 27
Final
I didn’t see a final score posted so I figured I’d add it. Found clips of the game on the BNL Athletics Twitter. Looks like BNL got a TD with 47 seconds left to pull within one. They went for two but the handoff to the RB wasn’t clean and it resulted with players falling on the ball. Floyd Central survives.
This will be the first week this season that I won’t be attending a game. However, since I saw two games in week 2, it all evens out. Nevertheless, best of luck to everyone tonight and keep us posted on the scores.
Week 7 Picks
BNL (4-2, 4-0 HHC) at 5A #10 Floyd Central (5-1, 3-0 HHC)
Jeffersonville (0-6, 0-3 HHC) at New Albany (1-5, 1-2 HHC)
Seymour (3-3, 2-2 HHC) at Jennings County (3-3, 0-3 HHC)
Columbus East (2-4) at 5A #1 Bloomington North (6-0)
Both Bloomington schools have their flaws. South has always had a tendency to shoot themselves in the foot with penalties. North doesn’t usually live up to expectations very well and has a tendency to play down to their competition. If either of them make it to semistate, I think it’ll be the end of the road. I think the state representative out of the south will come from sectional 13. Snider is still my pick to win it all though, even with last week’s loss to Homestead.
