  1. With VL moving to the SIAC next year this sectional alignment could really help them build on an already good program. They could take a few on the chin in the regular season then make a playoff run a regular occurrence.
  2. I'll take the Patriots by a couple scores, the big man in the middle of that d-line is an absolute difference maker!
  3. Coach Goebel has plenty of experience playing at whatever time or location they are asked or agreed to play. This will be a none issue for the Wildcats.
  4. Unless Lincoln drew Bosse (sectional 32 sleeper) who they already beat by 3 scores.
  5. I watched most of the first 3 qtrs. of the Linton/MD game online, IMO Lintons Offense is normally run very quick and crisp (I enjoy watching it.) MD was getting push and penetration which caused timing issues in Lintons offense. I also noticed the week before against North Posey that Linton was occasionally fielding high snaps. NP wasn't able to apply enough pressure, to either the center or the backfield, to cause problems. Linton had issues upfront against MD and that attributed somewhat to the turnover problem Linton had last Friday IMO. I haven't watched enough of NK to know if they can keep MD from getting a big push or immediate penetration. If NK can run the ball consistently against MD and put up points they would be accomplishing a feat that the defending 4A state runner-up could not do. Offensively MD has been slowed by 5A Castle(zero points,) 4A #6/7 Evansville Central (ten points,) and 4A #3 Evansville Memorial (three points.) So it has been done this year.... I would love to see NK get the upset, good luck to both teams tonight.
  6. Not that I’m aware of, unless Tanka is running the Endzone camera
  7. Yes, I’ll be the guy doing virtually nothing on the sideline. Have to know your role! 😂
  8. Just to clarify, I believe he was speaking of his tax money paying for Reitz Bowl. Reitz High School (Francis Joseph Reitz High School) is a public school and The bowl is their home field. Easy to confuse with Reitz Memorial High School (known as just Memorial) which is a Catholic School same as Mater Dei.
  9. Mater Dei has a turf practice field, and probably enough room for the stadium. Hard to turn down the ability to use one of the best stadiums and atmospheres in the Midwest
  10. I believe they have recently purchased the Hi-pod X31 end zone camera so I expect this to improve. Also, I believe they have developed a flawless system to ensure they get the appropriate angle in the end zone without dispute from the other team wanting to setup. All the while having one of the best female videographers in the state.
  11. Illinois has had over 150,000 residents since 2014 move to other states. I’m sure that has also had an impact.
  12. I know you were kidding but... IMO a muddy field favors a passing team. The ball wont be wet, the receivers know where they are going, and it’s harder for DL to get a take off for a pass rush. Raining and windy would favor a running team.
  13. I was really impressed with HH defense last Friday, not a knock on GS at all! Sigler is dynamic I’ve been back and forth on this game for awhile now. Wish I could watch it
  14. Love when these topics become about one or two teams. How about North Knox, Mt. Vernon, Southridge, North, and Reitz? Nobody would have had NK near this list 4 weeks ago. MtV replaces Mr. Everything Sam Thomas and looks better. Southridge loses a great Senior class and one of the best athletes in the state gives up football and they keep rolling along. What a great Job Coach Paridean is doing at North, those kids and families have clearly bought into his program!!! Reitz? Reitz!! What is going on on the hill?!
  15. I have a hard time with Princeton going in the right direction. Princeton had back to back winning seasons and 3 out of the last 4 years with winning records under Coach Waylon Schenk. Coach Schenk is now trying to build North Posey thru some thin years. Princeton has gone 3-7 each of the last two years without Coach Schenk and are 0-2 to start this year. They have a chance to beat Washington this week but the rest of the year will be tough. 1-9 is possible.
  16. The new field is nice and looks great! I can’t wait to see what everything looks like in a year when our multi purpose building is complete along with the new track. That building will house indoor practice facilities for outdoor sports on a turf field the same as our football field. Plus the press box gets an addition. Should make a really nice facility!
  17. Looks like it’s going to be a beautiful night under the new lights, on the new turf at North Posey
  18. I can’t tell you stats about returning players or anything like that but I believe from people I have talked to they expect to be pretty good in the trenches. Think QB has playmaking ability, hard nosed RBs but no one with outstanding speed like Central has with Evans and co Nothing earth shattering there, no insider knowledge just things I have pieced together from conversations with a few parents/fans
  19. I agree with those picks except I’ll take my Vikings to make it 6 straight openers. I’ll add it’s tough to win at LS. Tall order even with your stud QB back but without him.... pulling for a all PAC winning Friday night!
  20. C&P article North Posey https://www.courierpress.com/story/sports/high-school/2019/08/05/zach-lowe-ready-strong-senior-season-north-posey-football/1900712001/
  21. Best thing about this time of year is we can all be excited about our teams. Looking forward to watching these young men (at NP) grow.
  22. Just my 2 cents 1 MD 2 Cen/Mem 3 Rtz 4 Cas 5 Nth 6 B/H
