I have not been high on Penn, but not even in the top 15? I haven't looked to see if there is a full listing of the 32 teams in the bottom half of the class is a shocker to me...let alone Carroll is at 15.

Lol, definitely has an Indy flavor.

I like Crown Point at #5. I don't care for Carroll at #15, but they did that to themselves against Warsaw. I like Snider at #10, but it's odd how they are behind WC in every poll despite bringing back some really good players from a team that easily took care of business last year vs the Warriors. I think the perception is that Snider's still a 5A program, which is OK. So yeah, an Indy flavor is fine. Just odd that WC isn't being judged for last year, but Carroll is. I guess who really cares, what happens happens.

Maybe Warren breaks out their slump after last year's showing..they have revenge on the mind n those transfers won't hurt..id rank em top 5 on potential alone..ala notre dame..Snider usually plays better with a chip on their shoulder anyway n in 6a they're gonna need it..!

All Indy area voters I guess

Or people who have a pulse and have watched the 6A tournament for the last 2+ decades and realize that the real state championship games usually take place before kickoff at LOS.

Crown Point was Ben Davis’ 7th toughest game last year…let that sink in.

Carroll or Crown Point will have something to say about that this year, you can take that to the bank my friend. That is if they can get past the Mighty Panthers of Snider. This is the year of the North !!

So there were seven teams better than Westfield last year? At some point you do have to give Crown Point credit for beating the best team in the best conference in the state.

But I agree with your first sentence. It's not like it's the Indianapolis Star's poll. It's the IFCA's poll, so bias shouldn't come into play. I'd be perfectly fine with Crown Point, Snider, and Carroll sitting at 13, 14, & 15. It's just a poll.

We will see.  Hope you’re right but I’ve heard it for years.

If my math is correct, there have been 10 state finals contests between non-Indy/Indy schools in the last 25 years in the state’s largest class and the average margin of victory is 31 points.

Crown Point gets credit for being better than Westfield that night but that’s as far as I’ll go.

I’ve given the Bulldogs more than enough love in my preseason poll, and you of all people know I do not have much of a bias when compared to other folks.

I could come up with several games off the top of my head where Team A (north) was better than Team B (south) on "that" night. It goes both directions.

I'm not accusing anyone of being biased. Never accused the IFCA of being biased. My only crime was saying it had "an Indy flavor." I'm actually good with the entire Top Ten being Indianapolis, although I think Crown Point and Snider have deemed themselves worthy. You also know that I've publicly given you credit for being the least biased poster on this forum. I honestly don't care what polls say, they are just for fun.

It does but Indy teams have earned any potential “bias” of why they receive the benefit from.

In 6A, a non-Indy school beating an Indy area school is front page news…an Indy area school beating a non-Indy area school is just another Friday night.

Like you’ve said, they are meaningless rankings that are fun to talk about but don’t really matter in the big picture.

Yea, I know. Just wondering if this year will be different, probably not. One can only hope, this time of the year everyone is undefeated
