Nice to see pike central getting a big win

I agree. Good for them to start the year off on the right foot.

What's the lowdown on Christian Academy?

Been to state the last 3 years, won it twice.  As far as I can tell, they are the Chatard of Kentucky.

Yes, pretty impressive results for them the past 8 years or so.  I'm not sure what they've lost or have coming back.  We'll find out.

It's at least interesting how close the Mt. Vernon, North Posey game was.

1.  Is Mt. Vernon better than some thought?

2. Is NP worse than some thought?

3. Are they both better than some thought?

4. Are they both worse than some thought?

Yeah, I should have clarified that while they may be the Chatard of KY, I doubt they could beat Chatard....

These are valid questions, I think we all assumed that NP would dominate this game.

I hope HH lowers the boom on them and shows what 812 football is all about.

History Of The Matchup

Heritage Hills (1-0) @ Christian Academy Louisville (1-0)

Christian Academy Louisville - Centurion Stadium

Friday, August 30, 2024

6:30 pm CDT Kickoff **EARLY KICKOFF**

This is the 1st time Heritage Hills and Christian Academy Louisville will meet on the gridiron!

Heritage Hills hosted Daviess County Kentucky in a varsity football game in 1977, winning 12-9. This remains the only out-of-state opponent they have played in the history of our program. On Friday, they will travel to Louisville to face Christian Academy Louisville, which will be a great battle between two storied programs with winning traditions.

Christian Academy is coming off of a season opening 27-17 win over the Owensboro Red Devils. Our Patriots started off the 2024 season with a great 43-14 win over the Southridge Raiders and hope to build on their success this week against a very talented CAL football team.

I wouldn't be all that intimidated by a 10 point win over Owensboro.  If I had known that I would've picked HH in the 812 Pigskin Pick-em' this week.

I really wish someone could’ve matched up with  Owensboro catholic. I live in Indiana but work in Kentucky and I’m quite tired of hearing about them. I tell them southern Indiana football is different and I don’t see the physicality and speed when I watch their games like I do on our side of the river. But I just get laughed at. Tell city had a running clock against hancock county (3A) in the 3rd quater but had losses to north posey, southridge, heritage hills. They just don’t understand.

We beat OC in a 7 on 7 tournament (in the final game) this summer. That means nothing, but it was fun to beat them on their field at Kentucky Wesleyan.

Yeah I suppose.  Everybody wants to win, but getting out of this game without injuries would be a win.  Staying competitive would be a win as well.  This is a team that has 5 or 6 Jett Goldsberrys and has them every year.  I am looking forward to see how we match up.

Give me Forest Park in the first game. Perry Central didn't really show much in their week on game against Tell City.

Give me Heritage Hills in this game. I don't know much about Christian Academy, but I have a feeling Heritage Hills will show them Kentucky boys how we do it in Indiana.

Give me Gibson Southern in this one. I had a chance to watch Gibson Southern's game last week against Danville and Danville looked good early, but they were able to settle down and take care of business. I think this one will be a blow out.

Give me Pike winning two weeks in a row. I know Tecumseh got thrashed last week by a good South Spence team, but I think its close and Pike gets in done late.

North Posey in this one. I think that they will run the ball and do what they want against Princeton. Hopefully Princeton can keep it close.

Give me Mt Vernon in this game. I think the showed somethings last week and that they might have an outside shot at doing some damage in the PAC this year.

Southridge in this game. I was impressed that a young Boonville team was able to keep it close with Paoli. I think Southridge will have to much fire power and their offense will hit to fast for the young Boonville team to keep up with.

Terry boys..... Enough said. I do also like Tell City's big center.

Washington gets it done again this week. They could be someone you have to watch out for in the big school side. They have a lot of fire power and their QB is a stud.
