Elkhart at Penn ©, 7:30 pm

New Prairie at Marian ©, 7:30 pm

Adams at Washington ©, 7 pm
St. Joseph at Riley ©, 7 pm

First place is at stake this weekend as Elkhart travels to Penn.

I think Penn wins this game at home by 14.

NP v Marian is a hard one to pick for me. Marian played Penn tough at Penn. If the NP team that came to play against Riley shows up I expect them to win this game.

Washington maybe? Both teams are not good.

St. Joe from what I am seeing week to week is a better team than Riley. I think Riley falls to 2-4 after being reintroduced to the NIC big schools. They end the season at 3-5.

I will be at Freed for this one. Surprised there hasn’t been more chatter about it. Really looking forward to it, as I have a ton of great memories of games there.

I had someone close to the Elkhart program tell me yesterday that he fears Penn wins the game by multiple scores. He is worried about the teams lack of discipline (which encompasses penalties).

I assured him Penn is like a mirror in this situation, they are struggling with inconsistency on both sides of the ball (the D seems to be finding their footing against lesser competition) and penalties.

Penn likes to use the how can we sabotage this drive before it starts method of Football. I will say it really works, just not in the way they were hoping. lol

Looking forward to it. Hopefully Elkhart can clean up the mistakes that have been keeping them from reaching the level of play to match their talent.

This is as talented an Elkhart team sense the Kurth years.

Nothing like waiting till after kickoff to look at this weeks line-up of games. But I will say this is about the best week of games the conference can have. All should be solid games with teams that should be playing each other every season

A shoot out between NP and Marian 42-28

St Joe beats RIley 29-0

Adames wins over Washington

Elkhart 7  Penn 3   a defensive struggle or not efficient offenses?

Yes.

Penn had good drives the first two times they had the ball, but stalled in the shadow of the goalposts. So, they had to settle for field goal attempts, on which they were 1/2. Never got another sniff.

Elkhart never drove the ball. They had a nice punt return that gave them a short field, and they capitalized on it for the only TD of the night. It was enough.

Penn had several penalties at critical times to shut down drives.

Sad part for me is that Penn has done nothing this year to make me believe they can beat Elkhart . Maybe they show me something tonight .

Ugly game all the way around. On a positive note, I got to say hello to Marcus Freeman on the sidelines. Who was he there to watch?

My take after seeing the Penn/Elkhart Game . Neither team will get out of their Sectional .

Being there and seeing it up close, I was going to say that you've lost it.

But upon seeing the Sectional teams;  It sure looks like CP in #1 and (IMO) Carroll (throwing the ball all over place) in #2 that 'should" be right there.

You might be right on point, GR85
