I read the below in Courier & Press ... is Southridge joining the Big School division next season?  First time seeing or hearing this.

Make the most of this final Small School Division game. As they head to the Big School Division next school year, the Raiders eye their third and final outright Small School Division title. What better way to make a statement than against a county rival with a winning record? This week: at Forest Park (5-3).

Coach Buening said that on the WREF Pairings Show last night too when discussing the match-up with Mt. Vernon.

That won't bode well for them from what I have seen at the lower levels...lets just say the next 5 years or so.  Then again, conference championships don't mean much....just hate to see them never win another one in the foreseeable future.

Mt. Vernon moves down to small side and Southridge moves to big side.....that was the talk earlier in the season.  My understanding is that it is all but a done deal.

Why move MtV? Could always just have 7 in the big school side like the small school has for the last two years. If I’m looking at it correctly MtV and SR are only a couple kids apart in enrollment.

We’ll do the best we can. Our schedule really won’t change all that much. 
 

Outside of Washington, and possibly Mt Vernon- no other conference schools come remotely close to having the socioeconomic and demographic challenges in regards to student population and participation compared to SR. (Would be REAL interested in the proposed Iowa model and the shake up that would bring- but that will never see the light of day)
 

Not an excuse- but the reality of the situation. 
 

It seems everyone has been throwing dirt on the Raiders for quite some time- but we’ll continue to fight the good fight

Heritage Hills (7-1) @ Washington (5-3) Washington - Hatchet Hollow Friday, October 18th, 2024 6:30 pm CDT EARLY Kickoff   This is the 10th meeting between Heritage Hills and Washington and the Patriots lead the series 9-0.   Washington is averaging 28.8 ppg and giving up 19.3 ppg and Heritage Hills is averaging 39.8 ppg and giving up 8.6 ppg.   Our Patriots are looking for another win to cap off a great regular season and an outright PAC Large School Championship. With a win this Friday, the Patriots will capture their first PAC title since 2019 and the 28th conference title overall for the Patriot Football Program.   TRAVEL TO WASHINGTON THIS FRIDAY NIGHT TO CHEER ON OUR PATRIOTS!

Out of complete curiosity and as someone who loves Southern Indiana with family in Bloomington and Greene County, how behind economically is a town/school district like Washington compared to a Heritage Hills or Gibson Southern area? Are there a lot of HH and GS families that just live a bit out but are more well off financially with Evansville jobs? Interested in this because you can go 7 miles east of Washington into Montgomery and see some incredible houses along Country Oaks 16/17th holes in that neighborhood, always was a bit surprising as an outsider that the money would filter into the small 1A community rather than a comparatively bigger 3A school.

 

Barr-Reeve facilities seem light years ahead of many other 1A schools

Another thing they've perfected! Barr-Reeve game always means a trip to Knepp's just like a GS game means Dewig's brats and maybe a run to the Red Wagon! Always got my fingers crossed for a Saturday regional for Sectional 32 winner to be able to make a second game that weekend

They are the best brats in the world!  Nothing in Posey County impresses me other than my beautiful future daughter-in-law LOL!

Totally foreign to me until I went with a buddy and his grandpa who lives in Fort Branch to the HH game in Allen's freshman year! Made sure to load up on them both at the store and at the Lawrenceburg regional in 21 as well lol

Is it true that the Heritage Hills freshman haven't won a game all year?  I think the GS and HH Freshman play tonight.  I know on Tuesday night the Gibson Southern 7th and 8th grade played Heritage Hills.

GS 7th won 14-8, GS 8th grade won 38-8, and the GS 8th graders went 7-0 in the PAC.

I think we also won the JV game 42-0.

I haven't heard the overall record of the younger groups, but I'm sure GS once again won the Jr high and Freshman team championship this year.  Congratulations!  🙂  Is that what you are looking for?
