Man thats hard to imagine being true. I don't think they've played in Jr high baseball in awhile. They don't in basketball at all levels. Did in softball. Played JR high football this year and never do in JV football. Not sure it benefits anyone to not play in football but who knows.

Going on max preps it doesn't look like they played Salem in baseball since 2018?

Yep, may not be true at all. I was actually told Salem wouldn't be playing WW and Pekin going forward.

They play varsity basketball boys and girls the Tuesday and Wednesday before Thanksgiving. JV football was hit or miss. Some coaches didn’t love having that game the Monday of sectional week, so in the years where a certain team had a good JV and thought they could beat the other, they would play on Saturday after varsity game. The JV teams did play against each other the year the varsity game was cancelled due to Covid. I’m not sure if they have had a JV game since. 
 

I would be shocked, disappointed, and a little upset if this series were ever to stop.

That would be a terrible decision as the program stands. Both games were competitive with the other county schools. I would understand dropping Eastern if we were year in and year out world beaters, but I would never be the one to pull out of these rivalries.

My fault. I meant they play at basketball at all levels

Who is Salems non conf going to be? They were already dropping Valley to pick up Madison that week, I think.

Well, after what JQWL has said, I guess it’s just what I think. I’m not sure how it would benefit Salem to withdraw themselves from these competitions.

According to current schedules with Madison and making it easiest on all Athletic directors in the MSC, logic dictates Salem drops Valley. That would leave week 7 and 9 for non conference. Assuming again, what makes it easy for ADs, Salem would keep Eastern and WW. 
 

I find it hard to believe that WW would be eager to drop Salem and vice versa but maybe Eastern is looking to drop Salem week 7. If so, that could pose logistical issues for Salem and maybe Eastern. 
 

Currently Valley plays Tecumseh week 7 so that could be an option for them to drop Tecumseh and play Salem week 7 and they play North Daviess week 9 so another Non Conference they could potentially play Salem should WW end up off the Salem schedule. 
 

This is mostly speculation, but with some logic built in with current schedules and knowing a few ADs, I’d say they would like to make transitioning in Madison as easy as possible.

Madison is sliding into the Valley spot and Valley is taking Jennings County. I cant see the Salem/WW rumor as true but maybe they want to/need to move it off the last week of season and play earlier? Who knows. Find out over the summer. I never know schedule changes until it hits Harrels. Haha

Not as confident in Salem to get this win as I was a week ago, but their comp has been better than Switz Co. WW has a long drive to Knightstown, but I think their passing game will travel just fine.

Found this on Facebook. I like posting future schedule changes. Definitely an easier schedule while they try and build it up. Not sure id count on Edinburgh after what happened. Only team I know in the area with a week 8 opening is Providence. Not sure they would attempt that. Curious who all Henryville and Trinity Lutheran get on thier schedule.

Some long drives on here, how far is too far? I wouldn’t count on Edinburgh either. I am sure they are looking for a different week 4 team. I’m not sure what other schools contracts look like, but I would think Eastern would try to add Crawford back on their schedule as well as Mitchell. Being a smaller, struggling program this far south definitely makes it harder to schedule competitive games closer to home.

Agree. Id assume WW, Salem, Henryville, Trinity, and Clarksville make up there "base permanent" schedule. Once you believe its built up you can use the other 4 weeks to beef up the schedule.
