This is for interesting and/or unique stats for a team, or for a league. Here is a fun one

Since 1977-78, NBA teams up at least 7 with 40 seconds left in the 4th quarter or OT in a playoff game were 1,609-0 going into last night's Pacers game against the Bucks.

That record is now 1,609-1.

The Bucks had a late lead in regulation along with a 20 point lead in the 2nd quarter.

Going back to the 2018 Stanley Cup Playoffs, the Toronto Maple Leafs are 1-13 in closeout games. Imagine being booed at home for being up 3-2 in a series.

It’s been a pleasant surprise so far this season, but like so many other Cubs fans know…..we still feel like the bottom will fall out.

Game three of the NBA finals, downtown Indianapolis, IN!  A lot of folks have jumped off the bandwagon, but we'll know a lot more after Wednesday night.  It's been a long while since the Pacers have lost two in a row, and hopefully that's an omen for tomorrow.

The Cubs are still up 4 over the Cardinals, even after losing a three game series in Detroit.  Some nights they hit the ball, and some nights they don't Pitching has been quite steady lately, even after some injury problems.

Also, high school football season begins the month after next!😊  I hope all are doing well.  I'm gearing up for my 82nd birthday next month, and hoping to make a trip to Stoll's Lakeview for some blackberry cobbler!

Gaylord Perry was a great pitcher, but a lousy hitter, as was common among National League pitchers. They didn’t have the DH then. One day he was in the batting cage hacking away, trying to hit a home run, and his Giants’ manager, Alvin Dark, was laughing at him. “There’ll be a man on the Moon before you hit a home run,” he said. Years, later Perry did, indeed, hit a home run. The date was July 20, 1969. Perry’s homer came just about an hour after Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong touched down at Tranquility Base.

Typical NBA bullshit that the Pacers have had to deal with for decades now. The frustrating part is just blatant it has become. The storyline of 2 small market teams was good enough to just let it play out. The NBA never learned from the other sports that small market teams succeeding is a positive thing. One team being a HUGE underdog was a big story as well. I always have been and always will be a Pacers fan. But I root for them now more out of spite for the rest of the league and those who run it. What is going to really suck is that this team has one more season to win a title. They will likely come up short again. And while Carlisle MIGHT be safe in his job, the roster is likely going to be blown up and shift to a rebuild rather than adding players to overcome the next step. Even adding players and letting others go will definitely have an impact on the team chemistry. I love this team and the current roster. What they have done since January has been special. But these guys are also quality guys in and around the community. Such a shame that such a remarkable run had to crash and burn the way it has. I know OKC is the better team, but there is ZERO doubt the series should be 3-1 Pacers going into last night’s game, just like the series against Boston last year should have been 3-1 Pacers.

I used to love to see Tony G at Pacers game sitting on the front row during the playoffs back in the Miller/Smits era at MSA.  His wife was from Indiana, they had a home here and he was a big Pacers fan.  Incredible athlete and from everything I've read, a wonderful human being.  Passed way too soon.

This guy has lots of amazing statistics. His lifetime BA was .338. Against Cy Young winning pitchers he batted .339.
