FinePrint Posted September 26, 2025 Posted September 26, 2025 Triton came from a conference (NSC) where they got clobbered by the 4 best teams every year. There is no interest in getting back in bed with 3 of them again. I was disappointed to see LaVille leave for the INSC, and would love to see them back in the HNAC. Teams go up and down. Winamac will have some better years. Culver will have an athlete or two go through every-so-often that makes them competitive. Caston is improving. I think this is a good football conference for Triton. Can't see us going anywhere unless some of the other members jump ship. Quote
littledog Posted September 26, 2025 Posted September 26, 2025 There isn't much place for any of the teams to go. If one were to leave to a bigger conference they would more than likely get beat up in the other sports too badly. Quote
FinePrint Posted September 27, 2025 Posted September 27, 2025 Big defensive battle in North Judson last night. Each team scored on their first possessions of the game, then NJ adds a safety late in the 4th. A couple of missed opportunities for both teams, but you have to credit the defenses for stepping up! What happened to Caston? I thought they were moving forward. That had to hurt. Quote

Too many bigger schools, such as Griffith, who ironically left the NWCC because they were getting beat badly in most sports. Quote
FarmerFran Posted September 29, 2025 Author Posted September 29, 2025 I'm not expecting any surprises this week as we head into the final 3 games of conference play. Does Caston come out fired up for Triton after last week's disappointing loss to Culver? Judson, North Miami and Pioneer should all get the young guys in in the second half. Quote
littledog Posted September 29, 2025 Posted September 29, 2025 Caston at Triton- I get talked up on Caston every year and then they come out and lay an egg like last week. Triton is too much for the Comets. 34-0 NJSP at Winamac- Even with Judson's lack of offensive flow I think they beat the Warriors with a running clock. I would like to see Christensen sprinkled in more throughout this game at QB for an added wrinkle and see how that can help them. Lambert knows his team best though. 33-6 North Miami at South Central- NM has their subs in at the half. 56-8 Pioneer at Culver- Culver had a good win last week but Pioneer is the team to beat this year in the HNAC and possibly the 1A North. 56-0 Quote
FinePrint Posted September 30, 2025 Posted September 30, 2025 If not for South Central's attempts to throw the ball around the yard, that drive from North Miami to South Central might take longer than the game itself, especially with a second half running clock. Agree, no major surprises this week, although I do think Winamac might keep it a little closer than expected. Harrell has a 24 point spread. That might be about right. Quote

On his website if you go to game capsules and the given day of the game, it shows the games and their predictions underneath it along with a lot of other information. 1 Quote
FinePrint Posted October 6, 2025 Posted October 6, 2025 No major surprises this past week. Will any of this week's games be close? Friday, Oct. 10 Culver at North Miami ©, 7 pm North Judson at Caston ©, 7:30 pm Triton at Pioneer ©, 7 pm Winamac at South Central ©, 7:30 pm Quote
FarmerFran Posted October 6, 2025 Author Posted October 6, 2025 Culver @ N. Miami- Warriors keep on rolling. Judson @ Caston- Jays stay perfect in conference play, but Caston keeps it interesting for a half. Winamac @ S. Central- Warriors pick up their second win of the season. Triton @ Pioneer- Conference Game of the Week! If the Trojans win they could potentially force a 3 way tie for first, if the Panthers can scrape out a win it will most likely lead to a week 9 HNAC title game between Pioneer and Judson. Triton has a very stout defense that is well disciplined and aggressive. This will be the best defense Pioneer will have seen this season outside of Knox. Offensively, Triton does a great job utilizing 3 and 10 to power their offense. # 3 may be the most complete back in the conference and has been a force for them all year. For Pioneer, our offensive balance has gotten better from years past and the defense has been catching on as the season continues. Our depth will really be tested this week as our center and a 2 way OL/DL player will most likely be out after getting banged up at Culver last week. I expect this to be a 4 quarter slugfest with the Panthers coming out on top on senior night. Quote
littledog Posted October 6, 2025 Posted October 6, 2025 Culver at North Miami - NM wins easily. May start slow due to looking at next weeks matchup but Culver can't matchup with the Warriors. 35-6 North Judson at Caston- Loved the effort from NJSP last week after an ugly game verse Triton the week before. Caston may get a score but not much more. 40-7 Triton at Pioneer- I think it'll be close for most of the game with senior night and the amount of distractions. However, Pioneer pulls away late in the 3rd and Tritons lack of offensive firepower is their undoing. 35-14 Winamac at South Central- Warriors 35-0 Quote
TightEndOpenAgain Posted October 10, 2025 Posted October 10, 2025 North Miami 40-14. An ugly game against Pioneer maybe woke up the Warriors. Focus and effort seem better the last couple weeks Judson 34-6. Caston’s inconsistency is confusing. They’ve seemed to play the top 4 of the conference well. This one is a tough score to predict Winamac 48-7. Heard SC has a very nice couple middle school classes Pioneer 28-14. Triton hangs tough on the road, but the Panthers are the class of the conference since its inception. 30 years of big games give enough experience to get it done. Hopefully the Trojans can enjoy some of the gas station chicken on the ride home. (Great stuff!!) Quote
FarmerFran Posted October 13, 2025 Author Posted October 13, 2025 (edited) HNAC Championship Week! Looks like the fates have aligned where the 1 vs 2, 3 vs 4, 5 vs 6 and 7 vs 8 ranked teams will be playing each other so we should have some good matchups throughout. Who ya got? FinePrint Posted October 14, 2025 Posted October 14, 2025 Give me: Pioneer North Miami Caston Culver Quote
RingLeader Posted October 15, 2025 Posted October 15, 2025 Pioneer NJ should be a classic. Neither team giving up much defensively. Seems like mirrors of one another. Might be a 3-0 OT game. NJ fans will be rocking at Liberty for this one. Quote
FarmerFran Posted October 17, 2025 Author Posted October 17, 2025 Caston @ Winamac- At the beginning of the season, I would have taken the Comets, now I think its the Warriors game to lose. Seems like Caston plays to the level of their competition for the first half every week and when the other teams make adjustments, Caston doesn't know how to react. Gimme the Warriors. North Miami @ Triton- After playing both teams I think North Miami Wins this one with their ball control offense. Triton better have figured out how to stop trap since last Friday if they hope to have a chance. South Central @ Culver- Woof. Give me the Cavs. Pioneer @ Judson- With the HNAC Championship on the line who is going to step up for each team? Both teams have stingy defenses and the offenses can put up points. The Jays have big game experience from the success of the last couple of years, but the Panthers are starting to believe. I think this will come down to who gives up the fewest big plays. I think both teams will struggle offensively if they have to drive the field every possession. I'll take the Panthers in a close one. Quote
TightEndOpenAgain Posted October 18, 2025 Posted October 18, 2025 (edited) Great game in Bourbon. NM loses 3 fumbles all well into Triton territory to lose it. First fumble was inside the 10 which Triton took the other way for 6 Edited October 18, 2025 by TightEndOpenAgain Quote
FarmerFran Posted October 18, 2025 Author Posted October 18, 2025 Panthers take the HNAC crown winning 36-18 over Judson. 2 Quote

Overmyer had an 84 yard TD in the 3rd and then Triton ran out the last 7:30 on the clock with Overmyer running the wildcat. Great game. Quote
RingLeader Posted October 18, 2025 Posted October 18, 2025 Congrats to Pioneer 7th title in 11 years of HNAC Conf. Quote
FarmerFran Posted October 20, 2025 Author Posted October 20, 2025 Sectional Quarterfinal week! Who ya got? HNAC has a realistic shot of having 3 sectional champions this year. Quote

I figured Judson would have a hard time trying to stop the panthers on D. Jays shot themselves in the foot early but Pioneer came out and dominated them. Do think Christensen came in and game them a spark at the QB position and i liked what i saw there. We'll see if they stick with that or continue with Harper. 1 Quote
littledog Posted October 21, 2025 Posted October 21, 2025 Laville at Culver: LaVille coming into the sectional playing great football and may be the sectional favorite, Culver can hang their hat on their upset win over Caston. 35-0 NJSP at SCUM: Battle of the abbreviations ends in a blowout. NJ better bring their A game against LaVille or they will be going home early for the first time since 2020. 52-12 Pioneer at Caston: Pioneer is focused and on a mission since last years sectional meltdown. 34-0 Carroll at Winamac: Winamac's season comes to an end. Curious to see if this will be the end of Burgess' time at Winamac. 41- 13 North Miami at Northfield: NM has the best draw of the sectional. Shoudl cruise into the championship week when they'll face either Triton or Fremont. 52-6 Southern Wells at Triton: Triton should win but Southern wells does play a tough scheduled so they are battle tested. They'll have a tough matchup next week with Fremont. 20-7 Quote
