2026 Scheduling – Christian County High School Football (KY)

The NEW Christian County High School Tigers (Class 6A) located in Western Kentucky are seeking opponents for the following weeks of the upcoming season:

Week 1 (Home Game – Bowl Game stipend provided)

Weeks 6 and 7 (Home or Away)

Week 9 (Home or Away – tentative)

As a Hoosier who follows football in all parts of the state, I'd say that your best bet to scheduling a game against a school in Indiana would be Gibson Southern High School. Gibson Southern routinely schedules teams from out of state, including in Western Kentucky, and teams in the Indianapolis metro as well. Gibson Southern is 3A in Indiana, but they are in the top tier of 3A football. You probably won't get much luck out of teams in the SIAC (Evansville metro) as they tend to play conference-only schedules. Good luck to your new, consolidated program!

Ev. Reitz Memorial (currently 3A #1) is looking for a Wk. 8 game series beginning next year. I believe that is KY Wk. #7. I have passed your post along to our AD.

Beginning next season, the SIAC will be a 9 member conference which will enable all schools to schedule 1 non-conference game.

Would love to see you guys play any of the MIC opponents. Not sure what the new schedules would look like for open dates but usually the MIC schools (Indy) have had several open dates throughout the season. Center Grove is the most southern of the MIC schools in Greenwood, IN.

I heard there was some discussion between Memorial and New Pal, but I don't know if that is going anywhere.

I can't imagine us ever scheduling a 6A, unless it was a lower-tier 6A, similar to what GS did a few years ago playing Southport. I would love to see Memorial and MD do something with Indy-are Catholic schools, but the SIAC's problem is the non-conf games will never be on the same weeks because of only having 1 open spot with the departure of Vincennes. It's why the SIAC need to go to 2 divisions and get Bosse, Harrison, Central off the schedules, plus they hardly have any fans so our homes games with them are essentially just our fans for the gate. I'd like the EVSC schools to be in 1 division and Castle, Jasper, Memorial and MD in another. That would really open things up for some good scheduling options.

I wasn't talking about Gibson scheduling a 6A (you guys also played Columbus North) ... I was talking about this school in Kentucky. Their scores this season, they're have been getting trounced.

Moving to the WIC - Western Indiana Conference. They just could not compete at the upper levels of the SIAC in any sport.

Sheesh. Those will be some long drives to WIC schools. They’re pretty much increasing their average drive time 20-30 minutes.

I mean, no where in Indiana is close to Vincennes. It was still an hour drive to everywhere in Evansville for them.

Yeah but a +20 to +30 minute average adds up when factoring in all sports. Would the PAC not bring them in?

LOL. You're kind of right. Isn't real convenient from anywhere except Sullivan and Washington.

It will save the remaining SIAC schools some travel costs (especially for the non-revenue sports). Maybe not Jasper so much, but they have plenty of moolah in Dubois Co. anyway.

A Hoosier who follows all football in the state didn't know VL announced they were leaving the SIAC. Don't fear, it had nothing to do with GS...
