  1. The name of Cascade's game is wearing the opponent down. They have a three very capable running backs - Savini, Farmer, Mink - and a quarterback - Trebley - who is capable of running and throwing and has not thrown an interception all season long. Cascade is run-first but they are very capable of airing it out if necessary. Defense is also great and good at forcing turnovers.
  2. SIAC* my bad. Don't think that Cascade will necessarily roll to a victory, Gibson Southern is still tough. But I've got Cascade winning.
  3. I know why you're asking, why is Luers ranked 17th? Well, it's because I'm using MaxPreps rankings from 11/15. Not usually the most accurate, but the most accessible to me. The biggest story in the country right now is Knox RB Myles McLaughlin. He's 364 rushing yards away from breaking Derrick Henry's all-time high school rushing yards record. He's already broken the records for most rushing yards and touchdowns in a single season of high school football in the country as well. He had 53 carries for 372 yards and 4 touchdowns against Angola, and to top it all off, he even had the game-saving interception to seal the Redskins' 28-21 victory. However, Myles and the Redskins face their toughest test of the year thus far on the road at Luersfield. Bishop Luers' defense is ELITE as they come. In fact, they did not give up a single point of offense to Twin Lakes last night. The Indians came close, but Luers stopped them every time. Twin Lakes' only touchdown came from a pick six. Myles will need to have the game of his life for Knox to move the ball and score points against the Knights. If they win, the record is likely his. Thoughts on this game?
  4. Biggest game in Cascade's program history as they host the Gibson Southern Titans at home. Gibson Southern has rolled through southwestern Indiana, beating some of the better teams in the region including SAC champion Evansville Memorial and 4A regional winner Heritage Hills. Their only loss so far was on the road at Rochester (IL), a small-school power in Illinois based near Springfield. They are coming off a 42-14 home victory against Indian Creek. Cascade has also rolled through their competition in the Monon Athletic Conference as well. The competition hasn't been stellar, but Cascade has STEAMROLLED teams. They scored 98 in a game and were up on conference runner-ups Southmont (who went 11-2 themselves) 46-0 at halftime. Cascade just came off of a road victory against a very good Lawrenceburg team, 37-33. Thoughts on this showdown?
  5. Cascade has been an unstoppable monster this year, and they've hit their groove.
  6. Not a slight on Lawrenceburg at all but I have a hard time believing that anyone in 3A will keep up with the Cadets pace this year. The possibility of the three-headed monster of Mink/Savini/Farmer getting 20+ carries each is nightmare fuel for the rest of the class. Lawrenceburg will keep it close for a minute, but the Cadets will run away with it towards the end.
  7. Cathedral's middle school team could probably beat Anderson
  8. I don't understand Benton football
  9. East Central vs Talawanda (OH) would be epic this year.
  10. Thank you! I've already been playing around. This says Irvington Prep would beat Benton, I was shocked lol
  11. I think Gibson Southern shut up all of the "Heritage Hills is winning 4A" talk. Can't see anyone beating Bishop Chatard.
  12. Chatard is 4A and Cascade is 3A but if it happened yeah. Gimme Chatard +35 over everyone in 3A and also 4A too
  13. Don't dare overlook Cascade. Do not overlook Cascade.
  14. If I had Elon Musk's money, I would turn Cambridge City Lincoln into a program worth billions of dollars just for craps and giggles.
  15. Heard it works well for Lincoln High School (Cambridge City).
  16. I'd love to see how Plainfield competes with anyone on your top 25. The Mid-State is not great this year outside of Plainfield and DC. Mooresville is decent, won't compete with Roncalli or Chatard who happen to be in that sectional. Whiteland will not beat East Central. Franklin Community, Perry Meridian, Martinsville, and Greenwood are downright BAD this year.
  17. Absolutely awesome to hear that. I'm used to seeing Crawford at the bottom of virtually every Indiana high school football metric, talk about a total program build-up. I just KNOW he had to have been playing NCAA Football 14 Dynasty mode growing up lol
  18. As a Hoosier who follows football in all parts of the state, I'd say that your best bet to scheduling a game against a school in Indiana would be Gibson Southern High School. Gibson Southern routinely schedules teams from out of state, including in Western Kentucky, and teams in the Indianapolis metro as well. Gibson Southern is 3A in Indiana, but they are in the top tier of 3A football. You probably won't get much luck out of teams in the SIAC (Evansville metro) as they tend to play conference-only schedules. Good luck to your new, consolidated program!
  19. Geist kids are definitely going to Fishers/HSE as well.
  20. They nearly got past Tri-West last season and returned a lot of talent. You are correct about the schedule concerns, but they did a very good job against Danville beating a good 4A team 41-25.
  21. 5 years ago they were a mediocre 2A losing to Seeger in the sectional. Crazy how far the Cadets have come.
  22. There's a third team in Sectional 13 that's at least worthy of some recognition 🙂 In all seriousness, it seems unlikely that Plainfield can win the sectional, unfortunately. We'll have to see how the Decatur game goes on the 27th before we make better judgement on how we can fare against New Pal (who beat DC) and Cathedral. New Pal's offense is electric. No doubt about it. Nearly unstoppable. In order to keep this hypothetical game within reach, Plainfield will have to somehow control the clock using Luke Starnes (RB). New Pal's linebackers can close the gaps and prevent a RB from getting to the second level fast. Very freaking fast. Starnes is a true power back though, and has the ability to push defenders in order to gain extra yards. Plainfield could perhaps try to run the ball with Bryce Sebanc (QB) to mix in some variety with the run game or try a short, west-coast style passing game. Plainfield has very capable receivers in Ethan Ellis, who is currently injured but will be back for sectional, and Zander Nattam, who had a breakout game against Mooresville with 9 catches, 140 yards and 4 TDs. Nattam has 70+ receiving yards and 7+ catches in every game so far this year. Don't forget about Coen Vanderbush or Mason Beers either. Cathedral's defense... well... is the defensive equivalent of New Pal's offense. It will be hard to move the ball on them under any circumstance. But Cathedral's offense leaves a lot to be desired so far in the year. They have been playing against elite competition, but have still found some trouble putting points on the scoreboard. They were shutout by Brownsburg, which seemed fine at the start of the year, but looks much worse now that Avon scored 47 on that exact same defense. Plainfield's defense is led by star safety Ty White, a sophomore that I like to call the Plainfield version of Caleb Downs. White is all over the field, always finding a way to make plays and lead. Super athletic, athletic enough to the point that Plainfield has put him in at punt returner (he has scored a punt return TD this year) and even wide receiver. Plainfield does not usually have 2-way players, so this is a testament to how talented White really is. Plainfield also has very capable and talented players at linebacker too, such as Tyler Simek and Blake Larrison, a newcomer who has really impressed so far. Three seniors play on the defensive line as well, ends Drew White (Ty's brother) and Jordan Robertson (former DC Hawk), as well as defensive tackle Brody Clampitt (Monrovia transfer). Overall, I feel like we've got a pretty good squad and can make some noise if given the right opportunity.
  23. Reading up on Coach Stroud. This guy is phenomenal, holy! He's only like 25 too. He's managed to get the largest roster numbers in program history and it's finally starting to pay off on the field. Bigger programs will probably call eventually, but he might be a lifer due to him being a CCHS grad himself. Crawford could be a PROBLEM here sooner rather than later.
