Of note, the northern teams all won the fllp in 1A-3A, and the southern teams won the flip from 4A-6A.

New Pal elected to wear white, as they've worn white in each of their state championship wins, so it's become a bit of a tradition.

Just FYI, it's just Roncalli. I don't believe Cardinal Roncalli was ever an archbishop.

As a Lutheran, let me humbly apologize for the title association.

I really don't want or NEED to again start the Crusades.  Lest of all get those German guys that taught me for years all riled up again over thangs!

It was bad enough dealing with the German women that may as well have been roughens themselves.

Has Brownstown finally made the switch to road whites???

I’ll never forget (although I do forget the year…maybe 2004?) when they came strolling into town for a Regional and had Red jerseys on. Lol…the officials were flummoxed to say the least.

I don’t remember exactly what the solution was- but believe the rule was made the following year that visitors must be in white lol

Best of luck to Coach May and the Braves!! If anyone deserves it- it is Coach May

The NFHS rule has ALWAYS been that the road team wears white or a contrasting color (gray/light etc....not dark).  If for some reason the visiting team has a dark jersey, then the home team changes to the contrasting color (white/light).

They are in white due to the coin flip at the Monday meeting.  Should they wear a dark jersey; At the State Finals.  Then that is on the IHSAA to determine the judgement(s).

NFHS football jersey rules require numbers on the front and back of the jersey to be Arabic numerals
0−990 minus 99
0−99

, with specific height and placement requirements. The numbers must be clearly visible and a single solid color that contrasts with the jersey's body color, and teams must follow rules for home/away jersey colors and specific illegal equipment. For instance, home team jerseys must be a dark color, while visiting teams must wear light-colored jerseys, unless both teams have agreed to change

We wore red jerseys on the road from 03-11 or something like that. All three regional games at Southridge we were in Red. Wore them at Heritage Christian in 08 semi state, as well.

So long as they are contrasting... No issues.  Red would be contrasting to Blue/Black etc.   Though not white.

It is an IHSAA issue at that point.  We are playing FB.

I’m pretty sure Brad Hanner and Brownstown’s red road jerseys are the reason the book at one time said “white”.

No problem. I'm a Protestant, too, but half of my family is Catholic. It's an easy mistake to make. One of my broadcast partners referred to "Bishop Guerin," and given St. Theodore Guerin could not have been a bishop, I quietly let him know off-air 'it's just Guerin Catholic).

I don't know exactly what this is in reference to - but RIP ol Coach - he was one of a kind.
